Boring summer (TMNT wise)

This summer is shaping up to be very lame as far as turtles is concerned.

1. We'll be getting no OT DVDs.
2. 4kids will be re-airing select season 1 episodes... I have it on DVD and have seen all of the episodes at least 3 times (some up to 15), wish they'd hook us up with seasons that weren't on the current re-released sets.
3. TLS comes out this later this month, but I really don't care about it.
4. We might get some Back to the Sewers toys, but I'm not a collector.
5. We'll get a few comic books, but nothing that looks too exciting.
6. No video games.
7. Doubt we'll get any movie sequel news.

The summer may or may not be slow, but we've got the new NECAs which are exciting even if they already hit. Maybe some news on new figures.

The new Toon to look forward to and we'll probably be hearing a lot about it.

We just got the "Lost" season...

So we have had an influx of stuff and the fall will bring good stuff. But yeah, it will be a mild summer I suppose.

It's summer. Of course it's rerun time. We are just waiting for the next season, after all. Maybe we'll get the Back to the sewers toys, who knows. But maybe we'll see another wave of the MiniMutants.

Yeah, I think the next wave of mini-mutant figures will probably come out in summer, for those of us that collect the toys.

Otherwise, as said, its summer, so its a "break" period till things kick off again in September. Not to mention in 2009 we get the 25th anniversary stuff that Murphy is promising, so I hope for good stuff.

How was the other anniversaries? I don't remember. Like the 5th in 1989 (with the 1987 cartoon at it's peak), the 10th in 1994 (with declining interest), the 15th in 1999 (when the phenomena was almost dead) and the 20th in 2004 (one year after the 2003 cartoon begun, and the phenomena was growing again).

The 5th and 10th anniversaries had some stuff, but the property was still very much a kids property then and the retro stuff wasn't big.

Now with the 25th, everyone from the 80's is around 25-30 and all of the retro stuff is in. So I would expect a lot more happenings then we had in years past.

Probably because the 1987 TMNT cartoon peaked at popularity around 1989, when the 5th anniversary was.
