View Full Version : How they could have released "Nightmares Recycled"...

I wouldn't doubt that the store-exclusive DVD thing is unprecedented for Funimation (and I doubt they'd be eager to set that precedent with TMNT), but wouldn't it have been amazing if "Nightmares Recycled" was released, finished or not, on a store-exclusive bonus disc? 4Kids only said they wouldn't air it, so this idea would have been great. But, I'm guessing it's too late now since it's a mere two weeks 'til the US release of the Ninja Tribunal story-arc on DVD. :(

EDIT: Forgot to say: And, this way, it'd be a limited release so as not to give the overprotective parents something to whine about.

The best bet would be the animation tied into the animatics with the voice overs as a bonus on the DVD. I'd love that to happen to but it's not probable.

I'd have been hoping to see something like that as well. Reanimating the thing would have been far too expensive- even if they used Flash.

But there is rumor that that episode isn't going to stay buried for long (straight from 4Kids themselves, in something they posted here). Lord knows what that means, if we get a toned down version of it in Back to the Sewers or something like that, or we'll eventually see the anamatics as their leaked online...

I kinda think you might be right. They could very well re-use the plot but tone it down and make it into an episode next season instead.

Its always possible if they really feel the need to tell that story. After all isn't Casey suppose to propose to April in that ep?

I do hope they release it someday. The plot in and of itself is not that terrible. Most kids know that conjoined twins do happen. And if Hun and Garbageman have all their limbs- not to mention the fact that they seem to be able to live and function independently- it probably was a very simple case to separate with minimal complications.

Quick question: Does Garbage Man have legs? I remember him always in that tank type thing.

They never show him with legs but he could still have them I guess...

HMmm... you know, I never quite thought of that. I always assumed he was so overweight that he needed to get around in a vehicle. Mayhaps, when he was mutated or whatever happened to him, he lost the ability to walk, if not his legs entirely.

Garbageman does not have legs.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up - because anything could happen... but I would count on this episode being released one way or another at some point in the future.

I do hope the episode IS released indeed.

Garbageman not having legs does not automatically imply that he was born without them. He may have lost them in an accident. Or due to gangrene. Or due to another reason.

Until now, I had assumed he did have them.

My hopes are officially up! I'd like to see more of his backstory. I like those kind of episodes, anything that we learn more about characters. Probably why I enjoyed the turtle tots eps so much.

The reason it was scrapped from being part of season 5 was because, supposedly, when Garbageman was separated from Hun, the surgeon douched him with acid and threw him out like complete trash.

And this was when they were still BABIES.

But yes, awesome news that it actually will be released. Even if that means leaking it onto the internet as an audio file, I'll still enjoy just being able to hear it. ^_^

Excellent to hear, but does that mean that we'll only get the same story or the unused script or animatic for the unfinished episode? That's the question that bugs me. I wanna know how high to set my hopes so I don't seem unappreciative when we get whatever they decide to give us. I'd be disappointed if I was waiting for elements of ep 110 as originally intended to get out only to find out that a rewrite is the best we'll get. But, I'd be satisfied if I knew that was the best to hope for.

I'd like to think 4kids will be smart and release the unaired episode on a dvd set giving people all the more reason to pay them for their dvd's.

After all, wasn't "Insane in the membrane" apparently not shown on TV but released on the DVD afterwards?

Then there IS hope indeed!

Yeah, but the story is different for both. In one case, Insane was completed entirely under the original censors, but wasn't aired due to the new prude they wound up with. Nightmares was only partially finished. So best bet is either the episode gets made, but toned down considerably, or we get an anamatic on a special DVD set.

where was this episode supposed to fit chronologically in season five? was it supposed to be around the time Membership Drive was?

Between "Beginning of the End" and "Membership Drive".
