View Full Version : Bad News about Ninja Tribunal DVD

Ok so went to Best Buy today. I usually go the day before to find out how many they will have onhand of a DVD before I go buy it.

Well went there today to find out how many of the NT DVD, as well as the newest Sonic X set (The Chaos Emerald Saga,) they would be getting in.

So the guy takes the SKU from online and does an inventory lookup (usually they have these things in stock ready for sale on street date,) and it pull up -

- 0 onhand
- 0 on order
- 0 in transit

Basically zeroes across the board. He then told me that means that for the time being, or unless the SKU number happens to change between today and tomorrow, that these two DVD's, are online only.

So this is just a heads up, that unless you have other stores that are good with getting the latest TMNT's on shelves, you may have to order this one online, which is what I did.

Hope this news helps a bit. Kind of sucks though.

Same thing happened when "Day Of Awakening" came out back when I worked there. The system showed zero were coming in only a week before they were due out and then they came on time anyways. However they only got four copies and I grabbed one before they came out haha.

I wouldn't really worry Funimation are idiots about shipments and in transit really only works with electronics and stuff very rarely does it accurately show you when DVDs and CDs are coming in.

Cool. I'll take that in mind.

Question though. I went ahead and ordered them through BB.com, and if I get both tomorrow in stores, can I quickly cancel my order through the online site, and not be charged?

I placed the order this morning.

Most wal-marts I go to have commited turtle genocide (for DVD's, toys are still there).

I bought mine from DeepDiscountDVD for less than $11 with free shipping and no tax... It'll be a week or so before I get it, but I can handle that.

Went to Best Buy. It was a bust. Only available online. Then I went to Target. Couldn't find it there and I was about to give up. Then I saw it for 10.89. Paid a total of 11.78 total for the set. Not bad. Cheaper than Best Buy had it online for. So go to Target if you can't find it.

I have terrible luck in stores so I always pre-order from Amazon. They said mine was shipped yesterday or the day before I should have it very soon

Same here. I remember not too long ago people were being told that they were unneededly "freaking out" because Wal-Mart hadn't picked up the latest 2k3 DVDs yet. Guess those people were right to freak out.

I wouldn't say it's right to freak out, because it's just a dvd and just because one store doesn't have it doesn't mean you should run around like a chicken with your head cut off acting as if the world is coming to an end..I mean really it's just a dvd.

Target does have the DVD!!!
I ran all around today to Borders, Best Buy, Walmart...and not a one of them had it. I never even thought to check Target...b/c my Target doesn't carry any TMNT dvds. They did for a time..then they dropped them. Same with Walmart. I came here and saw that someone else had gotten theirs at Target...so I decided to go..thinking my Target wouldn't have it. But, long behold...they did!
So, if anyone has trouble finding TMNT..go get it at Target!

Nobody was freaking out, though. People were just like "It's not a Wal-Mart yet. WTF, mates? That's not cool."

I don't really remember anyone acting like the world was gonna end.

My Best Buy immediately told me it was online only this morning, as soon as I asked. Someone else must've asked for it as well. And then my Target didn't have it in either, even though a place was set for it on the new kids releases shelf. They told me to try again tomorrow. :(

Wow that is odd guess they had a falling out with 2K3 DVD sales. Sad, sorry guys things have changed quite a bit since I worked there.

I ordered mine off Amazon and got it this morning. Haven't watch it yet but awesome artwork inside.

Oh but they did though, one person was all OMGZ THE SKY IZ BE FALLIN"!!
And then it went on from there, it was a very annoying day because of that.
I was trying to calm people down by sying calm down if you can't find it there you may find it at another place, I mean really there's no need to get upset if you can't find it.
If we all know it's being released on a certain day, call ahead first then go to the store that has it if they do.
If they don't and you didn't take the time to call ahead or go to a store that you planed on going to from the start, then you really have no one to blame but yourself.
Frankly I save myself allot of time and wasted gas by just buying the dvd's online.

The last TMNT release...season 2 part 1. Didn't get shipped/stocked at my Best Buy until two months after it was supposed to be released. No one else around me carries TMNT (I was SHOCKED Target had Ninja tribunal)...so I figured they just weren't going to be a regular in stores. But, about two months after they were set to be released they restocked the TMNT season 1 and put out season 2. Best Buy isn't really on top of getting their TMNT, it doesn't seem like (maybe that's just mine..)

Yeah, I work at a Best Buy and checked RSS for the DVD as soon as I got into work this afternoon. The "0 in transit" part disappointed me the most, since that means we aren't getting any in for the forseeable future. I'll just have to keep my eyes open and check RSS whenever I go in.

Just getting around to those? Too bad, as the series' DVD releasing was halted halfway through due to apparent lesser sales (than Disney expected).

I concur. I at least want them though. I have the follow up comics that pick up from the end of Season 2. I did find a user on Youtube who has all of the episodes posted, even the Goliath Chronicles.

^ I have also been getting the new comics. And Toon Disney is still showing Gargoyles (so for now I've been taping the latest run-through, starting at the Avalon Tour section of Season 2 -- since that's where the DVDs leave off).

I got mine from FYE a week early. The weird thing is that specific FYE's last tmnt release was the season four dvd that came out in 06. :-?

And if someone is having trouble finding the dvd's try Barnes & Nobles. Some of them even carry the really old releases too.

I would recommend everybody to go the Amazon route, because it seems that Best Buy and many other places dont ever seem to keep a well stock of the 2k3 series. I got mine today...

I am planning on buying season 2 part 2 on Amazon as well, when it comes out. I believe in the fall sometime..

Well I see I'm not the only one having trouble. I was on vacation all last week and first thing I did when I got home yesterday was check Wal-Mart. The one here has kept up to date with all TMNT releases and has so far been on time... but not the case here. The place was busy so I didn't want to wait around and check on the status.

I see they are all over Ebay and Amazon so I'm just going to find the best price and order it - and the long wait continues...

I got mine at Target for like 11 bucks. I double checked Best Buy first. My buddy who works there (and Spit maybe you can confirm this) said that it won't be available at BB because the SKU starts with 1 which means it's an online only item.

Eleven bucks at Target? There's a Target down the street from where I live. And that sounds like a VERY good price. So I may swing by there on Tuesday to get it- either that one or the one near my job where I go to buy things on my break during the day I work the night shift.

If you go to BB.com, it says that this DVD is an online-only item. It wouldn't even let me order it for in-store pick-up.

Went to target and there were 7 of them for $10.28 each. They also had 2 movie three-packs, 9 copies of the OT season one, a bunch of the first movie, a few TMNT's and 3 OT season 6 copies... Why can't walmart carry all that :(

This is what I did too. I believe the total was $10.40 (no tax included). Save some gas, save on the frustration of not finding what I'm looking for, save a few extra bucks, wait a few extra days. The trade off is no contest for me. And now I've been enjoying my LS DVD.

Yeah, if you have them taped, that's definetly the way to go. Saves you like $10 or so. But you can always order it from amazon.com if you feel you gotta have the dvd. Is there a Target near where ya live? Even if there is one, I'm not sure how long they'll keep these dvds in stock. I went there last week and they were already down to like 3 of them or so. So amazon's an option if you do online ordering. But like you, I've not seen too many of these sets on that many shelves save for Target.
I bought mine there last Wednesday because it was the first place to stop at on my hunt for the set. Good thing I did too because I couldn't find it at Walmart, Bestbuy, etc. Even Barnes and Noble didn't have any copies which really surprised me. What's with the lack of department stores carrying this item, I wonder?

I got mine today from F.Y.E. but it was kind of expensive. --- $16.99:sick:
It was either that or the "Twist Of Fate The Matt and Jeff Hardy Story" DVD. Things are kinda expensive there. I had to get it because I thought no other store had it. Oh yeah I also saw 3 NECA figures Mike, Leo, and Don, but I already have them, all I'm looking for is the Raphael NECA.

I also bought the Season 2 Part 1 TMNT DVD and TMNT Fast Forward Day of Awakening. I watched it and it was pretty nice. Too bad they aren't showing anymore new Fast Forward episodes because that series rocked!

The real reason why I went there is that to find Mario Kart Wii but they didn't have it.:dead: :ohwell: Better luck tomorrow.

P.S. Happy Father's Day to all!!!! :D

You know every time I see some one now saying that about FF it just agrivates me so much, not that people are now starting to realize it wasn't that bad...but the fact that it's now over just when they got the swing of things and we'll never get a bunch of really cool stuff.
It makes me happy that the internet really wasn't around back in the days of the old toon, reguardless of whatever the answer is that mirage is giving for the quick tim slip back I know whiney fans had allot to do with it.
Oh well moving forward and on to the next season where people will just complain and are already as one would have figured.
I really hope back to the sewer with it's all brand new stories doesn't get screwed up by people complaining all the time and that they just let the series develop into something before they kill the beast with their vocal pitch forks and finger flames.

I finally got a notice from Amazon that mine got shipped. Yet Gobo may be right about online only, as I have yet to see one in a Walmart, Target, Costco, or Border's store, albeit I live in Hawaii so we might not get everything, but my Walmart has gotten every single 4kids disc, including Season discs and all of the Lionsgate discs, but no Tribunal disc, so I had no choice but to order the Tribunal set with Amazon.

I finally got my copy! My Wal-Mart still has none, so I ordered from some Ebay Powerseller, then waited like 2 weeks, and still nothing. Fortunately, I got in touch with them, and they quickly sent out another which is now in my grubby paws.

I'm gonna go nuts tho, since my g/f and I decided to make our way back through the entire series up to Ninja Tribunal while we were waiting, as a refresher course and this time with an episode guide handy so that we can get it all in order of air-dates (switching dvds between almost every episode!) We're almost onto the second disc of Season 4 and I would think that by weekend at the latest we'll be enjoying Ninja Tribunal. :D:D:D:D

Just in case there is anyone on this board who hasn't yet bought the Ninja Tribunal set, at Buy.com they have a pretty sweet deal. It is only $8.35 plus it looks like it is free shipping. You can't beat that! Also, until June 30th, if you sign up with Google Checkout, they take off $10, so I guess you could actually get it FREE! :o

Oddly enough, when you order from DeepDiscount.com, it's $10-something. But, if you use the 20% off coupon code, "ddaf" (huge thanks go to ToTheNines for this, though it looks like it expires on the 22nd), it's exactly $8.35... And, they have a similar $10 off scam All you have to do is subscribe to their service, then get $10 off your first purchase, and a % off all future purchases from that store, but you need to buy $100+ from that store within the next year just to break even. I dunno what the fine print on yours was, but the words 'too good to be true' come to mind.

I don't know about all of that. :ohwell: I ordered the dvd through Buy.com and the price they had listed was what I got it for. It was like $10.19 with free shipping. The prices on Buy.com constantly change as new deals from different companies change. Like the Dragonball Z season 5 was $35 a week ago and now it's around $25. I didn't attempt to order the TMNT dvd again to see if there were any hidden costs but when I bought mine before there wasn't any.

So here is a mystery. On WalMart.com they are taking pre-orders for the Ninja Tribunal dvd set, however the release date isn't until September 16th. Even stranger is the fact that the version they have listed is quite a bit longer than the version I have (they claim theirs is 325 minutes long). :ohwell: Any theories?
