View Full Version : Have they ever revealed what kind of turtles they are?

I'm getting all kinds of conflicting info. I believe I heard that they were a kind of box turtle but are they red eared sliders, spotted turtles, painted turtles, map turtles? Or has it never been revealed and does Laird like to keep it vague? And what kind of turtle is Slash? I'm not talking about the alien version, but the one in the OT.

I think Slash was intended to be the OT version of Tokka? Not sure. If that's true, he's a Macroclemys Temmenikii.

But in the OT Slash was tiny...I guess he could have been a baby....no, Tokka was a baby. I'm stumped.

Tokka was a full grown common snapper actually.

AKA, Alligator Snapping Turtle for us lay-folk.
yeah I know i'm a brat. :P

it's habit to use scientifics some times i forget to add the common names.

The OT Slash was probobly the same type of turtles as the heroes, just turned out differently because of the "super mutagen" that was'nt finished yet, due to Bebop's clumsiness. Being raised by Bebop probobly did'nt help either.

I don't think so, tokka appearse in ot, in episode "Dirk Savage! Mutant Hunter".
But that was later on in the series, so you could be right:ohwell:

Slash wasn't the OT version of Tokka cuz there was a version of Tokka and Rahzar in the OT! They were zoo animals in the 7th season who were accidentally mutated along with every other animal in the zoo (thanks to Rocksteady and Bebop) the year before. Both were pretty smart too. The first time the turtles encountered them Raphael got all frustrated "Oh no! Not another mutant turtle!! Im beginning to feel un-unique!" :lol:

Stupid other than Prof Jordan contaminating the mutagen "to make them intellectually inferior and thus less dangerous"? o_O

He is, I would have loved to take him home. He's not a normal color red ear, keepers would call him an "ornate" because simply he still has his baby colors. Most RES darken as they age and usually lose all pigment and go all black.

Ornate... what a delicate name! ><

Why didn't you take him home? Do you have more lovely pics of him? Exactly how old is he? Do you know what he likes? Any specific hobbies? Can he understand english?

He lives in a pond at Knott's Berry Farm, a local amusement park..along with a few chicks all to himself. He's a happy boy!

Trachemys Scripta Elegans...

Red Ears...I could identify at least 2 males in the group by their tails, those were NOT baby turtles, they were at least 4-5 inches
