Just got this from the Blast From The Past Website (which also has an update on the Hallmark TV movie):

TMNT #10
This special giant-sized issue, with sixty pages of story, joins what would have been issues 10 and 11 of TMNT into one compelling chapter of the TMNT saga.

A desperate, epic battle to save April’s life rages, pitting NanoBaxterbot against NanoTurtlebot... the mysterious Xihad strikes... and in the end, death comes to a beloved member of the family.

60 pages, black and white, $3.95 US/$5.50 Canada

Sounds like it could be the end of the current story arc, or at least a pivitol chapter in it. I wonder who's death it will be, my first thought was April but that seems almost too obvious, guess we'll find out in June (or maybe the solicitation for #11 but I don't think Peter Laird would do that).

Wow. They've never killed anyone off before. I must admit, I've started wondering if April is going bye-bye. We know it can't be a Turtle. I hope its not Splinter though...they've got him living away from the Turtles, he's not the constant influence he used to be.

Yeah, it's not gonna be one of the TMNT (everyone has their favs so killing anyone of them could lose the book readers) and Casey and Shadow don't seem to be in any danger so that probably rules them out. April is the most obvious with Splinter coming in second, though there doesn't seem to be any real threat to Splinter at the moment (unless things changed in #8, I'm still waiting for that to arrive at my local comic shop).

I don't really want either of them to die, but they are Peter's characters and he can do what he likes, plus it will make for some interesting stories in the following issues.

I hope they do a collection of #1-10, in one big book...

Well it is a long time until Im getting in to those issues, but Im not really happy about the fact he put a spoiler like that in there...

Chris

Yeah, hopefully when #10 comes out people will keep the spoilers in the thread rather than in the thread title so that those who haven't got the comic yet (or like Karpo are waiting to read them) don't come to the comics forum and see (VICTIM'S NAME) DIES!!!! when they want to read it for themselves first.

Yeah. Well nice to see we will get a double issue.

Issue 10 should be lots of fun. Sounds like it'll be longer than issue 3. Can't wait! :D

Now that I think of it, someone could probably sacrifice himself/herself to save April in the story in some way (in that case, it would most likely be Casey)

I can't really speculate, Having only read the first issue in 4th volume. Well Il start reading City at War today.

I got issue 8 the other day, Splinter doesn't seem to be in any danger at the moment, but you never know. It did cross my mind when I read it that April may be on her way out. The Utroms don't seem to have a way to stop those 'bots yet and they're already starting to tear her apart.

God, If Splinter dies, I'm gonna cry...

I dont doubt that it could be April, considering her current health state either....

In the TMNT #9 Solicitation thread this was said:

I have a theory about those "nanoturtlebots", I think they're Nanobots built by the Utroms to defeat Baxter's nanobots and save April, and for the symbolic fun of it, they make 'em look like the turtles!

Good prediction :D

Alright, it looks like the action is going to pick up over the next few issues. That's what I like to hear. There's been a great deal of plot development and tension but I guess now is the time for the pay off. I wonder if this will end the arc? I was guessing that it would be a 13 parter like City At War or Volume 2. I'm so psyched about a double issue, yeah.

Wow, an important character kill off that's unexpected. I'm okay with that though, as long as it's done well. This volume has been quite light in tone thus far, so I was suspecting that something drastic would happen before too long.

Here's my prediction:
Robyn. She's a member of the "family", April's family that is. I have a feeling that she'll die by giving April an organ or blood or something like that in order to save April's life.

ooo good theory rat king. b/c who cares about robyn? lol. all signs point to april. but that kinda seems obvious...im thinking splinter. i mean, the average rodent lives 3 years...mutagen i spowerful stuff, sure, but hes looked like hes about to die since he was first mutated..

and karpo, yeah, its kinda a spoiler. altho, i see it more as a marketing ploy hehe

Skeletoncrew

Robyn's a possibility, but she's not a donor match for April, so I'm not sure how it could happen. Hmmm...

Ok, I've just read #1-7 again (still waiting for #8) and there is no mention of Xihad, does anyone who has read #8 know who he is or has he not appear there yet either? Or is he a character from Vol. 1 that I've forgotten?

Thanks

Ive never heard of a guy called Xihad, hess not in TMNT 8.

They cant kill off April, coz shes April! I bet it will either b Robyn, one of the retired super heros or maybe Leo will kill Cha Ocho.

Chris
02-22-2003, 06:32 AM
Well it says a member of the family so that rules out Ocho, but one of the old super heroes is possible (though I wouldn't have call them a BELOVED member of the family).

Xihad could be the alien thing that blasted those archeologists (or whatever they were) in issue #3(?).

the only one i could see dieng is robyn or one of those new weirdos, if they kill anybody else they'll make a lot of enemies

the 4 tmnt-career suicide if they kill them

splinter or april-both look possible, but yer gonna anger a lot of people

casy- inconceivable, he's too much of a fan-fav

Skeletoncrew

Shadow would be a good possibility. A lot of people don't even really know who she is.

Jephael
02-22-2003, 02:45 PM
Yeah, but then what would happen to Jay? If he doesn't have her for a girlfriend, he really doesn't fit in with the storyline.

Donatello

IF the series go on long enough, even Splinter might die, He is pretty old. But I think it's way too soon for that. Has Robyn appeared in Volume 4?

Yes, she arrived when she heard about April's condition.

For some strange reason, I can't help thinking it's Klunk.

Karpo_007
02-22-2003, 04:21 PM
Ok.I didn't know Klunk was in volume 4. Well I know almost nothing of it yet anyway...

Chris

Has Klunk even been in the new series? I don't remember seeing him anywhere.

Xihad could be the alien thing that blasted those archeologists (or whatever they were) in issue #3

That's true, I hadn't thought about that. Still don't know how that storyline fits in, was there anything of it in #8?

Kali
02-22-2003, 05:16 PM
No, Klunk hasn't actually appeared in the new series, but that's my theory. *crosses her arms*

But if we've learned anything from TMNT it's that death doesn't have to be permenate.

Actually, I think Klunk's already dead. In the letter collumn of the latest issue Peter said Klunk wouldn't be appearing in the new series.

*pout* I got Issue Eight in the mail yesterday after writing my post. I was like, "Damn, there goes my theory."

Hey, at least I still have my werewolf theory.
