When the turtles finnaly get back to the present and they meat up with Casey and April what do you think their reaction will be? Do you think they will be relieved to seem them alive and well or do you think they will be more:
"oh thank goodness you'rr back! **slap/punch** Where the f*ck have you guys been!? You've been M.I.A for a whole freakin' year, and we've had to pick up the slack for you guys!"

They have a welcome back party like in "the Journal" right?
I don't think they could get mad, it was kinda an accident. Probably very relieved

It's time travel, for all anyone knows, they could return a few hours after the time they first left.

BTTS is based on the time line that one year has passed

All 4 Turtles will be very glad- not to mention relieved- to see April and Casey alive.
How will they react when returning to the present:
Raphael- as much as he disliked the future, he does not deal with change all that well, so who knows if he will display his sour attitude again.
Michelangelo- he will be bummed upon losing all his cool toys.
Donatello- on one hand, he probably deals with change the best out of all 4 Turtles. But he would miss all the tools and tech he had in the future.
Leonardo- will be more upset about Splinter getting trapped in cyberspace than about returning to the present. Had this not happened, he would have dealt with the transition best out of all 4 brothers.

That was all fabricated by Splinter to teach the turtles a lesson for messing with the unknown. ;)

Well, after that, it shows Cody reading the real journal, with a photo that they have a welcome back party.

I wanted Raph to wind up coming out of the future loving it, and being disappointed that he left. I just want him to say, "Gah, the present stinks!"
And I also want them to end up (once again) in April's Bathtub.
But April and Case will be over joyed. There seems to be the feeling that they could have somehow died or disappeared. After all, the TMNT have enemies they don't even know they have.

What I don't understand is why the Turtles would have to be gone for one year in present time, considering all other time and space travel in the show never even had them away from "Earth present time" for more than a few hours.
In Turtles in Space, they were only gone for 8 hours, though it seemed like 3 weeks on D'hoonib. In April's Artifact, they were gone for 30 seconds in Earth-time. In Return of Savanti Romero, while they were trapped in the past for 3 months, they were gone for only a few minutes in present time. The only thing that could have it make sense would be if Viral also interfered with their arrival time. Otherwise, it just seems like a stupid excuse to have more time pass than necessary.

I think there will be a cross between both. I think Casey and April will onviously be thrilled to see the turtles alive and well, but I think after incial hugs and kisses and high fives are given, there will be an aggravated "ok you guys are safe, so where the hell have you guys been all this time?" type of reaction as well.

Mikeys_in_tha_hizouse brought up a good point, why the hell do they have to be gone a year? They never did it before.

to give enouigh time for the baddies to go hog wild in their absence and give a them something to deal with when they get back. In short to give the next season a plot.
Mikeys_in_tha_hizouse brought up a good point, why the hell do they have to be gone a year? They never did it before.
One year missing is totally unnecessary. I'm telling you, if Cody can sent them back he can sent them back to any time, for example, if he can sent them back to NY 2009, he can sent them to NY 2008 as well. Thereby even if the turtles have been missing for one year since Future Shellshock, there's yet a need to sent them back to exactly one year latter, because once the turtles no longer occupy one space of NY city, it will change everything when they come back: Casey and April may break up, then they may have no offsring, then Cody won't even exist.
...eh - -
Actually, sending them back to when they accidentally disappeared provides a lot of advantages, for instance, they could hung out with Casey and April just like before, and they may tell them they will get married someday in the future in case the two never thought of that, and their lair won't change much, the shops, restaurants peripheral, people living around either. Everything will be just in place.
What good for sending them back to one year latter then? Purple Dragon may conquer half of the city, and the Justice force may get under attacked by some secret weapons from the space, and Casey&April like I mentioned above, lots lots of irreparable troubles.
Can we have them back earlier now?

I still don't understand how Renet the Time Mistress in training (or whatever she was) was suspiciously absent. And I think they could have came back a minute after they left... but the year has its purpose. Plotwise, the villains think the Turtles are dead, and they've had a year to flourish. there's a lot of dramatic tenstion that would build up, and that would really make the show pop.
As opposed to returning them just after they left. And I'm assuming they left just after the Tengu Shredder arc... I mean, the Ninja Tribunal was mentioned, and Mikey's new outfit for Turtle Titan was used.

That's inhumane. To actually make the plot pop, you deliberately delay the heroes return and put the people in NY city into deep water and hot fire without sentimentality? *chill
Furthermore, what about Casey and April? With the turtles gone, Casey may overact in too many overwhelming battles he may get killed, and April will live in widowhood for the rest of her life, a.k.a another Same As It Never Was, ehhhh... - -
You think the turtles would like to see that happen? You think Donnie would interrupt Cody when the latter was just about to activate the time machine and said:"Send us back to one year later, please, so the evils in NY city could have enough time to flourish, so we'd got countless butts to kick when we got there."... ?
Then Leo would be like: "It's our fault... it's my fault... again! Everytime the war's caused by us... even Casey was involved this time! We failed our firends, we failed our family, we failed the people in NY city, we failed the world..."
Then Raph would be like: "Leo... don't be so harsh to yourself, it's not your fault the city's at war again..."
Donnie:"Raph's right, Leo, no one can foresee this."
Raph:"It's Don's fault."
Don:"WTS?"
Raph:"It's Don who ask Cody to sent us back one year later! It's Don who allow the evils to grow strong enough no matter how many turtle brother pieces can take them down not! It's Don who force Casey to commit suicide-fight in the battles WE are responsible of! And he even stole my line!"
Don:"WTS!?" 0[]o
Raph:"He did that again!" *fight on
All leave Mikey defending the oncoming forces of the enemy...
The End.

you know I'm really starting to despair here, the show hasn't even debuted and there are people already thinking this is going to stink. What do you guys want? I find it hard to believe that so many people can't see the advantages plot-wise for the turtles to return an year later and have a free for all crime spree on their hands to deal with due to their absence. It's just set-up give it chance to lay the ground work before you become biased against it.
And this is the future we are dealing with people, not the past or another deminsion like the turtles have been transported to before where they could just come back to where there where before they got zapped like they where never even gone. Since they where in the future I imagine that time travel works diffrently in that regard. I imagine since time passed in the future time also passed in the present and it not physilogically possiable to send them to where they last where because time has been moving in the present too.
And don't be so quick to write off Renent, you never know what role she is going to play in the next sreason, maybe she is the reason why the turtles get back or maybe not. But I think it's been stated in the show that Renent can't interfere with the time line if is supposed to happen and has to run it's course., and wisk them back to present on a whim.

I'm fine with the new show, I am not saying it's going to stink. I don't even care about the Renet angle, if she was meant to bring them back she would have. I think bringing them back a year later is the silly part but whatever, let's see hwo it goes.

Agreed. I think that a year long disappearance would ba amazing. I mean, think about it. After the Ninja Tribunal, Hun left to do his own thing, as did Karai. Even for the turtles it seems that things would slow down.
I mean, look at the first FF episode. They clearly have no big threats. The Foot is in retreat, and they all look like they're going about their normal lives. Had FF finished and had the 3rd season where they came back home in the last episode, no doubt would they have came back just after they left. But what better way to start off a new series? Things going wrong now that they've disappeared? Seems like an exciting way to start it off.
And I'm just going to say Renet knew the Turtles were in trouble, and went to the wrong time, again.

**snort** that very well could be it. She probably was sent on a assignment to bring the turtles back and got lost in the sixites and wound up getting side tracted at woodstock and probably turned the time scepter into a bong and got high.

I think it sounds like a good idea. It allows for a fresh start to the new series, rather than to drop the boys right back where they were. And, if things in the city have gone to shell while they've been away, maybe that will show them they are important and do make a difference.
Did FF show how things were going w/April & Casey while the Turtles were in the future? If my mutant ninja friends up and disappeared for a year, I would fear the worst and be very sad.
I wish I got one or two mutant ninja friends, too. :ohwell:

Since we are talking about reactions here what do you think the reactions of the bad guys are going to be when they see the turtles when they have thought they where dead for a whole year?

Hun's is easy. "Aww crude.":dead: Baxter and Bishop probably guessed that the turtles are still alive and well so I'm not sure how they'll react.

I'd be surprised if Bishop or Baxter...even possibly Karai didn't stop by April and Casey's to try and bring out the turtles. Those three probably assume that the turtles are around, alive and doing their own thing, since everything ended on a more relaxed note. Karai had her guy and the rest went on their way to do their own thing. I would be surprised if they didn't try to get the turtles to come out of hiding or try to stir the pot. They all still (I'm assuming) want the turltes dead...using the friends as bait would seem like something they would do. Or are those guys alright with the tmnt now? Since they all fought together and seemed civil to eachother. I assumed it was just for that fight but maybe I was wrong. Are there all new bad guys or are the old bad guys still bad guys?

I wonder if Karai has forgiven the turtles and dropped her vendette against them. I think it would be pretty lousy that after the turtles saved her and sheltered her from the demon Shredder and fought side by side with her, that she was still planning their funeral. :x

Considering the direction this is going and the arrival of Cyber Shredder I would be willing to bet Karai would side with him instead of the turtles. Meaning - Yup - Karai's still got one of those Vendetta thingys against the boys in green.
Something tells me I need to go rewatch all 6 seasons before I start BTTS. I might miss something.

I would think that she wouldn't as Cyber Shredder will more than likely tick her off as it's more than likely some one not created by the foot but Viral instead.

yeah..and plus she was loyal to the shredder because it was her dad. This shredder has no ties to her. She didn't pledge her loyalty to the demon shredder..granted he didn't ask her..but she stated she wouldn't side with him at the beginning. I would like to see Karai side with the turtles.

I just hope the Leo doesn't do anything to piss her off by being atagonistic. Like in that episode of FF The Journal where he kept jumping to conclusions that she was going to betray the tribunal. I knoiw that was just made up by Splinter but I could see Leo acting self riouystous like that, and causing problems that don't need to be started. :|

since they have shown a short animated preview of the BTTS with Casey's reaction, which is to pull Mikey and Raph into a mighty group hug while exclaiming "You're back!" I think it's safe to assume that at least Casey is going to happy and jovial to see them. Although I wonder if he'll at least ask them where the hell they've been all this time. April is another matter. :ohwell:
