Hi guys,
Were all the 1988 Fan Club edition figures rubber head?

As far as I know yes, certainly all of mine are. But like Levar Burton would say, "Don't take my word for it..."
I'm not the be all end all of vintage Playmates knowledge, I just found a SOFTHEAD GENGHIS KHAN for the first time a while back, and I previously thought that only '88 figs came with those, so please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm assuming you mean Genghis Frog? Yeah, I'm not to sure myself but I believe all the Fan Clubs are. I had no idea Genghis Frog had a soft head variant out there. Interesting. Could you post a pic of that?

Genghis Khan is the RAREST figure in all of TMNT!! What a find!!:lol:

This may sound odd and I'm sorry that I just don't believe this but I'd really like you to take a pic of you squishing your Genghis frogs head.
I've never even seen an April with a Squishy head let alone Genghis.:o

LOL, yeah of course I meant Genghis Frog. That's what a few too many vodka & grapefruit juices gets me!
Now it's MOC, and I do not actually own this, like I said, I merely came across it some time ago but it was specifically described as a soft head and I certainly think it looks one. I would have snatched it right up if I wasn't so broke. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t236/WolverineBurger/softgenghis.jpg

It does indeed look like it could be, but I've got other old tmnt figures where the plastic did that on the arms and legs and those parts are not squishy, I think perhaps things like that happen due to poor storage.
But hey who knows I wouldn't say it's not simply on the fact that Playmates has done so many things over time.
But honestly there is no way of knowing unless we buy tuns of Genghis Frogs and squish all their heads.

Hehe, sounds like a good idea to me, chief! There's no such thing as too many of a good thing. And if a softhead Genghis could exist, then perhaps other 89 figs... this is like life-changing to me.
See? This is why I love collecting vintage TMNT, every other line I've gotten into I feel like I know everything after 6 months and there's nothing new to find and then I get bored and stop buying. But with like 400 toys, and all the gazillions of packaging and figure variants, and finding new ones all the time, I never get bored with TMNT.

I will say no on that Genghis. I've seen many figures in this line with that soft powdery look. I even have a set of carded hard head turtles with that. I'm not really sure what brings about that powdery coating. I'm assuming it was something with that particular batch of plastic. Some were made better than others.
Oh yeah I should probably answer the original question. All the figures with the actual paper form inside are soft heads. I've never seen otherwise. Note that there are figures with the fan club offer printed on the backer card but came with no paper flyer inside and are hard heads.
