This http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimension_X says there was a science fiction radio program named Dimension X from 1950 to 1951. Is this from where the name of the galaxy Dimension X in TMNT originates?

Could be. Then again, it could be just a cool name. Putting an "X" on something makes it sound more unique and menacing.

"Where's this Krang character from?"
"Another dimension."
"Well, what's this dimension called?"
"... Dimension... X."
"Oooo."

Having an "X" at the end or beginning of a name is like replacing "C" with a "K." Makes it sound cooler and more badass. :P

I'm pretty certain that Mirage did the interplanetary thing when dealing with Utroms and Triceratons instead of going the interdimensional route. As for the Image books, it was basically Volume 3 of the Mirage 'verse so it went down the same road. No Dimension X.
