Howdy Folks,
I have the Alien Hunter figures, 'cause their weird sculpted-on gear goes well with my Sigma 6 figures. But I always wanted the regular Turtle figures from the CGI flick, too, 'cause I for one loved the movie to death.
I also wanted some of the CGI toy series foot soldiers, as well as... well, I pretty much wanted every CGI version of the old school characters.
I'd recently arranged to buy 6 foot soldiers from Tall Dark and Gruesome, as well as Shredder and his daughter, whose name I can never remember how to spell.
TDn'G offered me a wildly reasonable* price, and then agreed to throw in Casey and April for free!
...and I got the package today, and he also threw in all 4 Turtles! And Splinter!
I am so over-the-top giddy right now!
...sadly, my camera is broken, so I can't even post pics. Soon, though!
In the meantime, while I think the CGI flick is arguably the best of the four, and while I really wish the next film would continue along those lines, and while I think the main Turtle figures from this series are the best sculpts and boast the best articulation that Playmates ever produced, I do wanna extend an olive branch to the haters:
I don't care for the new look the Turtles have in Back to the Sewers, but while I am a fan of the CGI sculpts, I agree with everyone that passing off the CGI sculpts as BttS figures is something of a sick joke on Playmates' part.
Maybe, since the next flick will presumably feature a total redesign of the characters, Playmates figures they need to get what they can out of these sculpts now...?
Whatever the case, enthusiasm about the CGI figures is probably the last thing most of you want to read right now, and if that's the case, I apologize.
I just didn't know where else to share the news. (I'll post something at the blog once my camera is working again.)
Thanks so much, Tall Dark n' Gruesome!
Cheers!

*Is "wildly reasonable" an oxymoron?
