View Full Version : So, what would you like to see in a potential season 8?

The Big Bad

Asumming that it's 26 episodes long.

My list:

At least one episode guest-starring one of the Acolytes.
One episode focusing on the NYPD, featuring Nobody (in his civilian identity), as well as officers Eastman and Laird--something either in the vein of Tales of the TMNT #36 or, alternatively, one in which the weirness of New York is seen through the eyes of civilians.
One episode focusing on individual Purple Dragons
The introduction of more individual Foot Members
Episodes revealing the fates of at least two of these characters: New York's mayor (Dead?), Ruffington (Dead?), Sydney, Versalia.
A four- or five-part episode set in 210_, featuring most of the living Fast Forward cast, and finishing the hanging Darius Dun plotline.
Either a sub-plot dealing with April's pregnancy, culminating with Shadow's birth, or a sub-plot dealing with the beginnings of O'Neil Tech. Not both.
Midway though the season, Utroms arrive on Earth, placing the series more in line with volume 4, reintroducing Mortu, and introducing Glurin and Prof. Obligado. The resulting change in the status quo would also bring back H.A.T.E. (although not necessarily Skonk) as a recurring villain.
No Rat King or Ch'rell.
Raph losing an eye.

I may add more later, but that's my list so far. What's yours?

Why no Rat King? He was only in one episode.

As far as what I'd like to see Rat King would be one of the characters. I also want to see Leatherhead and Baxter but I know their going to pop up again.

I too would like to see the FF loose ends tied up. The fact they left the whole Darius thing hanging bothers me so I hope they have plans to finish that. The Triceraton Shredder was a kick ass idea and I'd like to see them pull that off some how as well.

I do not want to see Raphael- or anyone else- get mutilated.

I would like to see Shadow come into this series. She does not have to be Casey's and April's daughter. My idea is that Gabrielle is a single mother- either pregnant or has a baby- and passes away and Casey and April adopt baby Shadow.

I want to see more character development with Karai (and maybe some Karai/Leo bonding) the rat king, and maybe the future Bishop

Another Ruffington/Nobody episode.

Another Triceraton/Traximus/Zanramon/Blanque episode.

Another Savanti Romero/Renett episode.

Another Battle Nexus Tournament.

Another Utrom episode.

Another Touch & Go episode.

Another Bishop episode.

Another Rat King episode.

Another Harry episode.

Man I could go on and on. King of Thieves? Angel and her brother? April, Robyn, Auggie? Sid? Toddler Turtles? Yoshi in his years between losing Tang Shen and his death? Ancient One?

Again I will affirm that this show has a lot more to tell, if the writers are good enough, and care enough. :D

I can think of a few comic adaptions I would love to see, that wouldn't muck with continuity.

The Passing
The Unmentionables
Distractions
The Shell of the Dragon
The River
Complete Carnage and Radical (the only Tales Vol. 1 not yet adapted)
Dreams of Stone
Men of Shadow
Egyptian Adventure
Turtles Take Time
Twilight of the Ring
Juliet's Revenge
Hall of Lost Legends
The Violent Underground
Leatherhead, Too
Masks
Shades of Gray
Splinter/Rat King storyarc from City at War
Intruders and Death Race
Actually, some sort of adaption of Volume 2's overall arc might be interesting.
Seeds of Destruction
Worms of Madness
Scars
Virus
Kaddish
The Quick and the Dead
Loops
A Ghost Story
A (Bull) Wrinkle in Time
Change of Power
Attack of the Replicants
Kung Fu Theater
Splinter Cell
To Serve and Protect
What Wolves Wear
Tales Vol. 2, #40
The Amulet
Temps
The Secret Origins of The Super Turtles
The Decider

And... that's way more than a few @.@

Anyway, they obviously would need more than comic adaptions, so following up on loose ends and continuing sagas would be very welcome. Like maybe go in depth on Touch & Go. Resolve the Fast Forward storyarcs. Who the heck was the man who Bishop was best man for his wedding, and how did he become the beast who he was in "Dragon's Brew"? What is Angel up to? Did Ancient One obtain a nifty Shredder-like armour now that he's one of the Tribunal? Has Sid descended further into evil and is now one of the Foot like he was in Tales? Are Hun and Garbageman really brothers in current continuity?

More Nobody
The Friggin' Savage Dragon!
Perhaps they get over it already and toss in a damn Archie TMNT Adventures story line.
Complete Carnage already!
More Leatherhead
Fugitoid and Serling meeting
Cha Ocho
Hun behind bars
More Rat King

Kudos to adapting stories from the comics that would not interfere. And that goes for both Mirage and Archie.

Well, among other things, unless they clear it up this season, I wanna see something about Darius trying to kill Cody without the turtles there to protect him...at least it would be an interesting way to tie up stuff leftover from FF.

I also want to see Rat King have at least one more episode. He wasn't used nearly enough.

Wrap up the dangling future threats like Darius and the Dark Turtles.

Introduce Shadow (as a baby or young girl).

Introduce foundations for O'Neil Tech or alien arrivals. It's a no-brainer that as soon as the threats were out of the way, Don would want to get working on the terran technology that will allow him and the Turtles to interact with society. That, and I like this aspect of Volume 4.

Introduce Complete Carnage and Radical. Honestly, I'm amazed they haven't been in the show yet. They're both fairly important in the comics.

Introduce Cha Ocho and adapt Tales Vol. 2 # 6 (a personal favorite).

Continue developing Hun's criminal empire.

No more Shredder.

Adapt characters like Armaggon, Bebop, and Rocksteady (not that I'd ever expect it to happen.)

How the f*** can you cancel a show on the franchise's anniversary?!

But seriously, the show's run for seven seasons already and will end on a conclusive note. That's fantastic in and off itself.

"You know, ordering another season of Turtles really wouldn't be profitable."

"Wait, see this? Some people on a message board devoted to Turtles want another season! I never would've believed it. We need to start production right away!"

"Absolutely not."

You can't even make a joke out of that.

Somehow I feel it's on Mirage's end of things. And Playmates.

All I can say is F***it, man! What else does 4Kids have in store? They won't get the next season of Spider-Man... none of the anime studios in Japan wanna do business with them. What have they got to offer now? Some other pointless crap from Russia that looks like the same lame-ass flash animated crap we've seen from all over the world.

I just can't wait for next year when Saturday mornings will be filled with crap like Aqua Kids and more of the same infomercials for reconstituted waffle irons.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some pencils to throw in a wood chipper... Think it's too late to go to Accounting school?

Hey, I didn't say it would be the thing that changes their mind. Besides, do you know how many shows have returned due to fan response? Let's see if we can pull a Family Guy here.

Hey, I didn't say it would be the thing that changes their mind. Besides, do you know how many shows have returned due to fan response? Let's see if we can pull a Family Guy here."Fan response" is seeing huge ratings in reruns, like Family Guy did. "Fan response" is positive reviews from all over and a campaign from hundreds of thousands of casual fans.

Fan response is not a hundred people on a message board devoted to the franchise, most of whom are older than the target audience, asking for another season. Although if it assuages anyone, I'll say right now that I would watch a hypothetical eighth season faithfully.

Well excuse me for being the lone optimist.I'm just happy that the show ran for as long as did, and was as good as it was. I'm glad it's getting a good ending. I'm just totally apathetic about whether or not it continues beyond this point. I definately hope this isn't the end of Turtles forever, but I highly doubt it is. It's just one cartoon, the franchise continues (even with a hiatus.)

But I do sense a bit of asshole-ism coming from my posts, so I'm done now.

I'm not a shoot the messenger guy by any means. Sometimes when you have bad news, the reaction isn't pretty, no matter how you soften the blow.

Not to mention through the roof sales of DVD's.

Personally, I think ending it with this season is alright, but I really think it needs an 8th, loose end tie up thing that bridges the FF and closes it up for good (unless they do it here, by the end of the season).

But Saturday Morning wise... No TMNT, no Spider-Man... wow... we're walking into a freakin' vortex. if anything, this might just be the end completely, with the exception of FCC TV EI lip service. I'm sure it doesn't prove a problem to the 3 kids that watch Aqua Kids or Made in Hollywood Teen Edition... :trolleye:

No point in watching Saturday morning cartoons if nothing good comes on anymore.

TMNT was that good thing. Here's hoping it goes on, but if not, I am done with cartoons until that new X-Men starts.

They already went to Japan - Leo went alone in "The Ancient One", and all four of them went in the Lost Season.

If they were to go to Japan again, I'd like to see it as an adaptation of "Masks".

Something tells me VaughnMichael is right. Playmates just dropping the ball like this and using movie tooling for the figures reeks of "just let it ride out" behavior. If the show is pulling good ratings then it's pulling in good ratings, but I doubt it matters. This is it.

Anyobody got a clue on the numbers the Fast Forward toys pulled in while the show was airing?

VaughnMichael

There had been about 13- 15 FF figures that made it into the prototype stages that never saw a retail release.

FF toys sold extremely well in my area. They were impossible to find and some figures I never saw. Mainly the Hyper Shell, which I've only seen on Ebay once used.

The series must be doing well ratings wise. It's airing 4 times a Saturday, that's insane. Someone high up wanted to end it if it is ending. It's stupid either way the only reason I'd see them wanting it to end is they want to bring it back as an adult/teen franchise or their sick of it and want to see it die out.

doubt they'll actually have a pregnancy on a kid's show, indicating OMG APril and Casey...did the deed! Oh no!

i doubt they'll have raph loose an eye also, too violent

no more anything fast forward, that's over with!

but what would it matter, the show seems just as corny as FF.

i would really love to see a season based on the image comics where raph lost an eye, don almost die and merged with a robot etc, all the turtles injured badly or even die, but at the end of the season find a way to set things to normal (find a super healer or something)

Okay, here's what I've been pondering for a potential arc for next season.

The should would just be called "TMNT". No subtitle, gimmick. Each episode would stand to wrap up plot threads and/or explain characters' origins. Nightmares Recycled could be reworked into this season, as well as origins for characters such as Touch & Go and Agent Finn. There could be a couple of comic-based stories that would make sense, especially Masks. Also, I'd like to see the Fast Forward series wrapped up at some point. Maybe the Dark Turtles slowly reform and become the TMNT of the 2100's, protecting Cody and the galaxy at large from threats such as Darius? They could also explain what happened to Cody's parents. I still like my theory of Darius mutating them into Sh'Okanabo and Viral

The overall story arc of the season wouldn't be the advent of a villain's rampage, but instead, the growing and maturing of the Turtles into full adults, and perhaps (since they are using the ranking system of gennin-chunin-jounin in the series), they could finally advance to jounin.

Oh I have no idea, They always say they didn't sell well but you could have fooled me as they hardly ever stayed on shelves from PA- LA.

I still think they moved them aside for the movie stuff. That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it. They didn't sell half as poorly in my area either. nto great after a while, but that's par for the course with the TMNT lines.

An episode with no TMNT.

It would take place in future where Darius Dunn takes over O´neil tech with Dark TMNT and maybe with help of Jammerhead and Triple Threat. He tries to kill Cody who now has to use his own ninja skills since there is no Serling or TMNT helping.

Cody and Starlee escape or maybe Starlee gets caught but eventually Dark TMNT turn to good side and help Cody to defeat Dunn for good. Maybe Bishop and Stockman could involve somehow this, like Darius causing somehow chaos in New York.

Alternative Dark TMNT/Darius Dunn storyline is that they somehow find Drako statue ( I know it was destroyed but maybe it was just send to another dimension) Drako takes them back in time and they go to Battle nexus where they do bad stuff then TMNT come and rescues the day with Dark TMNT who either stays at battle nexus or go earth with TMNT.

Myself, since I saw the guys' memory-pics in "Identity Crisis", I'd love to see eps of the events in those. ESPECIALLY the ones like the pirate-pic, the one of Leo and Renet, heck, even the FF one of Mikey pranking Serling with the dress and wig! There were TONS of possiblities in those!!!

I'd love to see a 2-3 episode story arc set in Usagi's world, with the TMNT donning Samurai armour and helping topple a powerful warlord who turns out to be one of their missing villains. Or something. They could use it as an opportunity to introduce Ninjara, she'd be a good fit for Usagi's world.

I think it is time to wrap this series up. After season 4 it really veered off the road imo.

I think the problem with some of the plot was they tried to mesh it all together, IE Rat King being a bishop clone etc. it takes away from the sense of adventure when almost everything is traced back to either A foot experiment, Bishop and what have you.

I saw about three episodes of FF and couldn't stand it, at least the 2003 stuff had some seriousness about it, FF felt like later seasons of the original cartoon.

Lost season was horrible, it was not only very short but had an entirely new feel and the plot was so contrived it wasn't funny. It was bad enough the Shredder was an Utrom (something I managed to live with) but it turns out, the Shredder is really a Tengu...really wasn't my cup of tea.

I think they have been working on the series for so long now they have kind of lost perspective, they need to take a long break from it to see it with fresh eyes. It's had a fantastic run, but it's best is past time to end it before it becomes something bad which will see ratings and sales drop horribly and hurt the future of any TMNT project, cartoon or otherwise.

Just my piece. :)
