Greetings, Organic...

I suppose you're here for one of that reptilian woman's 'teasers', yes? I suppose it is being left for me to take care of, of course. It is not as if I have anything important to do...

I guess I must explain how I am here in this time. When we were finally sending the turtles back to their own time, Viral appeared and pulled them through a rather nasty chronological gauntlet. I was overtaken by the wretched woman and forced into the time window, and we had a dreadful accident involving the Master Splinter. We ended up in this time and I have been stuck in this underground cesspool ever since.

I can assure you that spending these past weeks here 100 years in the past have driven me to the end of my fiber optics. At least in my time, when the turtles ere too much, they would leave with Cody for a time and give me some sort of respite...

Cody... I worry for my young master. I was separated from him at the most dangerous time I can ever recall in his young life. Between Mister Darius and those cretinous clones, I've hardly been able to recharge without some dreadful thought tormenting me. I suppose I can relate to the turtles losing their mentor. Young Donatello has been relentless in his search for the scattered fragments of his father. I would suppose young Master is trying to do the same..

That is not to say that I have been sitting on my laurels like an overgrown paperweight. During the weeks that I have been trapped here, I have made myself familiar with Donatello's Laboratory. The technology is Archaic, to say the least, but I have managed to put together a makeshift window. My hope being that I can get back to 2105 before any irreparable damage is done...

Oh, I long for the order and relative peace of my time. It gave me great joy to meet Ms April O'Neil and Mr. Casey Jones, but I am needed in my own time. Unfortunately, if there is one thing I have learned, it is to expect Something to go wrong. The title of this alone fills me with a deep dread. It seems I will have made a slight miscalculation in my setup of the time window.

Oh goody... Do I get to battle insects and nearly drown in a bowl of cereal while risking being eaten? Or will I end up in some unknown orifice that will haunt me until the day I am decommissioned?

I swear I was made to suffer...

Hmm.. It seems there are some questions for you to consider before watching this episode. Why in the world does she write this in all capital letters? I am an anachronism, I am not BLIND....

'WILL SERLING MANAGE TO CATCH A GLIMPSE OF HIS OWN TIME?
COULD DONATELLO USE THIS WINDOW TO PREVENT SPLINTER'S DEATH?

My word... why would anyone read this drivel?

heheh... And even though Serling wants to tear out his servos whenever I say it...

STAY TUNED!!!

I'm sure most people are going to hate this episode, the only thing I really didn't like is how easily the turtles went for what Serling was up to, but we wouldn't have much of a story then would we.
On the other hand I'm sure fans of the Buck Toothed Looney Tot Turtles will enjoy it, *vomits*
Hah I agree with Serling though, I'm totally sick of dinosaurs.
I wonder if that little boy was supposed to be someone famous, and boy Serling sure got himself in a bind with that one.
I'm seriously not a fan of these Tot Turtles, Splinter is a nice balance to it all though.
That Toy Guy is seriously Nuts, I have to wonder if the turtles treat Serling the way they do because of the events of this episode.
Well it wasn't much of an episode but it was different from the usual, fight thugs stuff we usually get out of turtles.
This Episode makes me glad I have a Serling figure now though lol:lol:
I think the best part of this episode was the ending and having Serling running across the roof tops with the guys.

Ugh. Just ugh.

Best part: Seeing Splinter kick a bit of robot butt. Liked little Leo's voice, but that's about it.

I'm sure most people are going to hate this episode, the only thing I really didn't like is how easily the turtles went for what Serling was up to, but we wouldn't have much of a story then would we. That annoyed me as well.

It was a decent filler ep, no more no less. We get one of these almost every season, (along with another Turtle Titan episode)

This episode almost seemed like a remake of the old toon's, "Michaelangelo Toys around."

If you're going to borrow plots from the 80's show, I guess it had to be one about evil toy robots?

I did like seeing Splinter again, it really reminds you he's been absent all season.

Ugh, indeed.

I dont mind the Turtle tots and it was nice seeing Splinter again, but this was a lame episode.
Not just cause Serling's one of the most annoying charcters ever, but that toy guy was way over the top. The "examination table" with the saws and drills, the army of homocidal toy robots, his tossed off rehabilitation at the end of the episode...lame, seriously lame.

I dont get it. We had such a wonderful opportunity to write Serling out of the show. I hope this is the last time he gets center stage.

I thought this episode was good. One of the things I like about Ninja Turtles is it's ability to do serious stories and funny stories (just as long as one side isn't done too much during a season). To me what made this episode great was seeing the Turtles as little children. It was very surprising and very funny. Plus seeing Splinter again with the ability to really fight was great. It was also pretty interesting to see time travel finally used in a little Turtles story, rather than present it as a flashback like it has been done before. Good episode.

I didn't so much hate the episode, as much as I just felt like it really didn't do much. I mean, it was a good character study of Serling... and at least he didn't use a pencil as a weapon, and get chased by a cat, like I thought (Come on, I've seen every 1980's cartoon there was. I'm on to the "Obligatory Shrinking Episode" bit by now). Can't so much say it was bad (I liked how it linked the time frames he visited), but it seemed like a left over FF script mixed with a late season 3/ early season 4 episode.

On the other hand I'm sure fans of the Buck Toothed Looney Tot Turtles will enjoy it, *vomits*

At least they were only in ONE episode. They could have easily gone with the series in which they were in every episode, interacting with their future selves (like that forgotten Bruce Willis movie).

I wonder if that little boy was supposed to be someone famous, and boy Serling sure got himself in a bind with that one.

Dude stepped on too many butterflies there.

Of course, the one thing that slightly bugged me was that screwing around with space and time turned him into a fat chibi version of himself. There must be some explanation in that somewhere... just don't know what it is.

Is...is it 1990? Seriously, this feels like an episode from season 4 of of the OT. In, fact, they should have named it "Funny, They Shrunk Serling". Also, a toy villian? Really? That's lame no matter what fiction it is. This is a really weak episode for such a short season.

Did anybody else notice that Splinter's design was changed slightly from that of the first episode of this season to look more like he used to?

Hooray for continuity within the animation itself.

Wow I knew this episode was going to suck but man I never thought it would be this bad. The thing that saved this episode from being the worst Turtles episode ever was probraly Splinter and the Serling running on the rooftops with the guys ending.

The toy maker reminded me of all those mad scientists from the old toon. Serling had the best humor of the episode, his "NO!" when the Turtles handed him back over to the toymaker was hilarious.

Ugg I really did not like this to much. I do not like Serling that much to begin with. I am not a fan of the Turtle Tots either. I just liked the Title because it reminded me of the 90's episode the incredible shrinking Turtles.

AND I HOPE TO GOD THEIR IS NO MORE TURTLE TITAN EPISODES! Just thought I would throw that in their lol.

Had to google that since my DVD collection is missing that episode. That said, I have no doubt Batman did it right, but good toy villians are in a very small minority.

Yeah, creepy, but nothing else. Ever episode he's in is boring.

You too? It really seemed to have a feel of one of those random episodes (I.e. Rebel without a Fin) with a nonrecurring villain that comes out of no where. Plus, of course Back to the Egg...

I think Serling really did carry the episode. it was a pretty weak one, and it probably will be the worst of this season... but Serling was a lot more enjoyable than the kid turtles.

I think I'm the only one that genuanly enjoyed this episode. I thought it was cute and a nice little break. It was just a episode ment to entertain not to to make you anticipate the next move and wow you. It's nice to have little breaks like this. I will say that I'm a bit tired of every time any one time travels they end up in the dino era. Geez thats been over done so much already, why do they have to show dinosaurs to show that they've gone to far in the past? Why not an another time period like the 1800's or something? I got a little excited when Serling was dropped onto a street with horse and buggy in the back ground. I thought he was going to stay there for the duration of the episode but he ended up in the sewer with the toddler turtles.

I think I'm also in the minority and saying that I liked seeing the turtles as tots again. Though I wasn't too big on them with their buck teeth like in season five. Actually I was wondering if this took place shortly after they visited the tribunal for the first time since they don't look like "kid" age and more like their two/three year old ages. It appears that Splinter got to business as soon they got back from Japan because it seems the the tot turtles already know some ninjitsu and acrobatic moves.

Serling was funny in this episode, unlike other people here I've come to like Serling and his quirky personality. He provided me and my younger sister with many a chuckle through out. Jolly old chap that Serling is. Spot on, spot on. I've really come to like his prim and proper demeaner, it creates an irrisistable combination when he interacts with uncultured youngersters or rumbunctious teenagers. His reaction and dialogue was funny in this episde.

And it was great to see Splinter whole again. But I noticed that the screwed up continiuity by giving him a cane to walk with. He's not supposed to have a cane at this point, he gets the came years later when Draco jumpss him at the battle nexxus and injures him. Am I the only one that remembers this?

It's almost a tradition: Jester's Running Commentary!!

So, no one notices that Serling is being uber-nice..."What do you want, Serling..."

Warping space and time, poor Serling. :P

Poor Soulja boy.

Turtle Tots... though it's cool to see the old lair.

Splinter!! And playing Daddy, too. :D

O...k... the little boy remembered the robot "toy"...right.

They're like kid turtles in a toy store...

"My...precious...er...cherished!"

Turtles to the rescue. "Hooray the Turtles." :P

They're toys of course...

Toy Mutant Serlings...won't this alter the time line?

It's like Small Soldiers... only with the Ninja Turtles.

Oh geeze...a giant super Serling clone!

Indeed, Raph aren't robot toys supposed to be fun...and for kids and all...

Daddy saves the day... though it seems odd he'd reveal himself to a human. Ahh there it is...

"Crazy in love with it..." Mikey again made an actual funny.

"Here you have it." "WHAT!" :D

Wendall, friend of Mutants everywhere.

Don't they remember him. Ohhhh...right...he was stubby...that's why. Riiight. Where's Simultaneous with all these time disruptions?

If I remember correctly, Splinter is caneless through the first half of "Fathers & Sons"...and then suddenly he was using the cane to walk.

I don't remember if the show established when Splinter defeated Draco at the Battle Nexus...how old the turtles were at that time.

I haven't seen this week's ep yet (waiting for it to come online), but am curious to know...do the VAs do a better job sounding like little kids? While they did an okay job in past episodes sounding like children, they were horrible in "Fathers and Sons" (most of the time they sounded like their present day selves...hardly any effort to sound little...that made the episode somewhat irritating to me along with the stupid looking buck-teeth look.)

This episode seemed pretty fun. It was different for this season and I'm gald it was. I dunno about you guys, but I like light stuff once in a while. The toddler Turtles and the fact that Serling was small was a nice attempt at a kid friendly aspect. I didn't think that would work all that well, but it actually did.

I think the humor was well-represented and it didn't feel overused. Serling just did some funny, unexpected things and I wouldn't mind seeing more of that.

All in all, a fun episode. Not exactly what I expected, but I'm glad it focused more on the aspects of Splinter's wisdom and the Turtles' concern for one another as toddlers. Can't wait till next week's.

It was definately a throw-away episode, but shoot me, I really didn't mind it. I've always liked Serling, so it was nice to see him star in an episode, and it's about time his separation from Cody be brought up. Turtle tots were alot less annoying here than they were in "Fathers and Sons," but I still hate them.

Still, this was much better than any of the Turtle Titan/Justice Force episodes they seem so fond of.

Two things I really loved were: a) The confirmation of a predistination time theory. Meaning the timeline already accounts for instances of time travel. Apparently the Turtles remembered having their "toy" before they even met Serling, and were suprised to learn that it was their own time travel escapades that landed him in the past. b) The Turtles finally did something nice for Serling. It wasn't doing their characters any good when they were being dicks to him.

Well it may have been called "The Incredible Shrinking Serling" but he only shrunk down to action figure size. I totally didn't expect a Chibi Turtle ep!! I love how Splinter even looked younger.

The toy shop owner reminded me ALOT of the DC villian Toy Man. But at least he realized it was stupid to pine for a toy for 80 years.

Still it was kinda nice that Serling gave the turtles things to do. I would have LOVED to have gone with Leo to see that museum exhibit on the Kamakura period.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamakura_period

I for one loved this ep. Course I love all the Chibi Turtle eps. Plus this one was educational for the kids in that there were several lessons learned about sharing and being greedy.

Next week: Klunk returneth!!! :D

Nice episode. I love seeing turtle tots!!! I never realized how many dudes can't stand them. :o

The only thing I don't like is that besides Don, everyone is acting so nonchalant about getting Splinter back. Leo going to a museum, Raph going to a grudge match and Mike seeing a horror movie instead of trying to recover Splinter....it just seems so out-of character :ohwell:

That toy guy really creeped me out. "My cherished?!" Ex-squeeze me??? Even little Mike noticed his crazed behavior-"He's like in love with it."

I was kind of disappointed in Serling too. I thought he was so desperate to return home cause he missed Cody but really he just can't stand the turtles and living in the sewer. I guess all the robots in 2105 are just stuck up.

Okay, I must admit that I kinda thought the ep was cute (the drawings on the blog don't give the lil turtles justice), but the whole matter of Splinter being JUST a Don project is getting ridiculous. I would think that Don will eventually turn to the others and say something about it. "He's not just MY dad, you know... you Could help somehow." If I was left in that kind of situation where I had to take care of my parents alone, while my brothers were f*cking off somewhere else, I'd be furious...

I'd say 3 out of 5 stars. Cute at some points, but definitely a sidestory.

This episode was good. I know the kid we saw playing with his toys was a big part of this episodes and he was. He made toys for a living. I was also thinking this guy is a future Turtle villan. Well I was wrong. Serling was so worrie about messing up the furture. Well he was wrong, he mess up the future and this is how. So first he's a robot from the future yeah so a robot from the future is not that bad right wrong because he has parts in him that weren't made yet. Ok so the turtles toddler, later in the episode fine him and took him home fighting to see who will keep him. That whole time I was thinking ok so the Turtles will remember him when they shouldn't because they meet him in the future. Words that comes from Mikey ( please tell me if I'm wrong) Oh yeah I remeber fight over you as a kid but I forgot about that. Will they forgot about it. I get it now. You know guys there wasn't alot of action this episode and that good. I mean I like action but I also like a story. With a little action.

Unfortunately that's the problem of being such serious dark issues in a kids' show. I guess finding Splinter is a Don project cause they can't have all 4 turtles moping and sobbing all season... especially since this was meant to be the season to make up for Fast Forward and maybe.. the last season? Now wants Teenage Mutant Emo Turtles, so let's make em.... not care! yay!

Two things I noticed, that were truly bizarre:

-Why was the chest where Serling was stashed in the Turtles' room? If Splinter were trying to keep the toy from them, he should have kept the chest in his room.

-After the Turtle Tots retrieved Serling from the chest, Raphael tackled Leonardo and Donatello out of the lair, but a couple of seconds, later, Michelangelo was kneeling in the sewer water, dripping wet, as if he had been knocked in as well, when in reality, he was further back and not even in the scene where Raphael attacked.

Sage Ninja

it sort of bothered me too that the turtles didn't jump at the chance to go gather more of Splinter's bits, and even more so that Serling didn't present it to all the turtles as his decoy to get them out of the lair instead of coming up with petty past times to occupy them. :x Splinter should be top priority over these meaningless things. And actually I was a little dissapointed that Serling was going to quantom leap back home with out even telling them goodbye. Does he feel such distance from them emotionally that he didn't care what they thought? Or that they would be worried that something terriable happened to him if he suddenly turned up missing? I mean I know the turtles where kind of dicks to him but it was sort of a two way disrespect between them, it wasn't completely one sided on the turtles part.

All that put aside I did enjoy the way Serling went about getting them out of the lair, it was funny.

I did like seeing Splinter again and I agree he looked a bit younger here. But He still had that regal look he has from his new BTTS design. I really missed seeing Splinter and all his wise monalogues, he's always so right when he gives advice. ANd it was just cool to see him being a father to the boys. And I don't care I liked seeing the boys as tots and acting that way, running around fighting over a toy was just so in character for small children. I noticed they all acted more alike when they where younger. I got a real kick out of Mikey running down the halls with a shopping cart with a mountain of toys halloring his heart out. It's exactly what I would have done at his age if I saw an entire store full of toys. Little kid heaven!

Was I the only one supriced thay Mr. Wendell was actually going to hurt those turtles? There where practically babies still and he was going to harm them. I was pretty shocked also that Splinter didn't go ape sh*t on the man for attacking his defenceless little children, actually he seemed pretty forgiving about it. :ohwell:

but I really think that Mikey treating him like crap all the time is wearing thinner than tissue paper.

when did Mikey treat him like crap in this episode?

It wasn't the worst episode out of the series. I believe all the Turtle Titan/Justice Force episodes are worse (along with many of the FF episodes). However it is definitely my least favorite of the BTTS episodes. I am also puzzled why it is only Don breaking his neck to get Splinter. Don and Leo especially should be equally as concerned and obsessed with getting Splinter back. Ever since FF, Leo has just seemed to be less of a leader to them and doesn't seem like the strong authority figure that he used to be, and I miss that. Even in Ninja Tribunal, he was put more in the background, and without much explanation as to why.

Serling is funny in some episodes of FF, but so far I haven't cracked a smile once during these new episodes. In fact, none of these new episodes have impressed me beyond being as good as maybe the best FF episodes. None of them (FF included) have even come close to touching the best episodes of the first 4 seasons. I will even say that the very last episode of TMNT that I was truly impressed with was "Ninja Tribunal" (where they fight the wooden guys on the rooftop before getting captured). Every fight since that episode has done very little for me and I yearn for more scenes like that where battles are well choreagraphed and every turtle gets some highlight moments. Just watching my "Season 2 Part 2" dvds today made me realize how much I miss those episodes.

I agree 100% on this. The rest of the turtles dont seem too emotionally hurt by the fact that Splinter is gone, regaurdless of the fact that thier trying to save the city from the Purple Dragons and whatnot youd think they would show more emotion over it, especially Leo.

Like you said Leo doesnt seem like the tough leader he used to be which I miss to but its also very out-of-character for him. He was more of a leader in the old toon than he has been recently in FF and BTTS

As far as the episode goes I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I never liked the fact that Serling came back with them but it was a pretty fun episode, course it was nothing compared to the previous episode with Shredder and Baxter...oh man that was the closest thing to 2k3 awesomeness weve had in a long time.

Only thing that bothered me, and has since it was anounced that they would pick up after FF, is that at the end the turtles had the childhood memory of Serling and the toys, which would have never happend had Serling didnt come back with them...which would have never happend had they never met up with Viral...which would have never happend had they never time-traveled to the future.

WHY DID FAST FORWARD HAVE TO HAPPEN!

Calling him ugly for one thing. I forget which turtle decided to toss him. Though, in all fairness, most of the turtles treat him like crap from time to time. I really wish that he and Donatello would have formed more of a bond this season.

Anyone notice that the Preteenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had Bunk beds, just like in the 80's cartoon? I forgot all about that until last night.

Cypher, you say that this episode show the "predestination view of time travel," and trust me I see it, but it also ret-cons the fact that there is a group of people who take care of anomalies in the time stream, Lord Simultaneous and Renet. If those people and the time scepter exist to fix time incursions, then why haven't they showed up for this. Unless this is all supposed to happen...which is odd since it is totally polluting the time stream.

And now my brain hurts. As much as I love time travel, these paradoxes give me a migraine.

O'Neil Tech would never even exist if Don hadn't traveled to the future. Some sort of infinite paradox.

The only explanation as far as Renet and Simultaneous are concerned is that they're a ditz and an asshole respectively (really, those are their character traits), and time will run based on whatever arbitrary whims they have.

Which Savanti?? In the comics after the whole dinosaur incident he was frozen in time till he woke up in feudal Japan (they could have used the Kakamura period exhibit for Leo to find out about Savanti), the turtles defeated him of course and he was sent BACK to the Cretacious, somehow tho he returned and was defeated by his own ego along with the turtles and C.O.Wboys of Moo Mesa (who we actually saw in Fast Forward).

Now, Im still waiting for Romero's wife to show up!! Where's Savanti Juliet darnit?! I wanna see Leo get his arse handed to him by Da Vinci! :P "You I would have discected first..."

I didn't like it but I didn't hate it. Some parts were bad but at least the turtles weren't half as annoying as they were in "Fathers and Sons".

I felt Serling needed his own episode I just wish they didn't use it to give people more of a reason to hate his character. The only reason sitting through wasn't unbearable was because of Serling. I see the purpose for episodes like this the little tykes need episodes to like too.

I just saw the episode finally, and there's one thing I kept thinking throughout it. Why did Serling even bother? He could have just found an isolated place to power down for a hundred years. You know like that episode of futurama where Bender got stuck back in the 1940s?? I mean it's not like Serling couldn't have done that. It would have been far easier than what he went through.

I really enjoyed this episode. While I'm not a fan of Serling, I did enjoy the lesson he learned about the Turtles not being so bad after all. I also enjoyed seeing the Turtle Tots and Splinter again. It was nice seeing Splinter kick some butt. The toy guy was nuts, and I hope he doesn't reveal their identity. Overall, it was a great episode. I also don't mind the Turtles with buck teeth, because I had buck teeth for the longest time. At least the Turtles grew out of theirs quickly. I had mine until about sophomore year of high school after I got braces in sixth grade. Man, did that suck.

Next week: Klunk is back! Whoo Hoo! However, I do have a problem with that picture, because he doesn't have white in him like he used to. That's going to take some time to adjust to. Still, I can't wait to see him.

Because it's the law.Well, more specifically, it's because the 4Kids website version includes some commercials. Advertisements are what fund television shows. When they put shows up on their site, the idea is that they'll still make some money for their sponsors because people will see the ads. When you watch on Youtube, there is zero chance of their sponsors making money because the viewers aren't seeing the ads. Therein, it's an incredibly round about way of stealing.

Well more logically speaking, the 4Kids video play IS legally sanctioned by all companies. I mean, even if you watch it on TV or something you can easilly ignore the commercials (and chances are you may not buy most of those products anyway). The YT version is something someone copied from a DVR...

Though, i really wanna see more company legal video sites do sort of an advertisement ticker at the bottom of the screen, separate from the video itself.

I didn't so much hate the episode, as much as I just felt like it really didn't do much.

I agree. The thing that really struck me was that I thought Serling was the best thing in this episode. I feel that his dry sarcasm is filling the void that Raph and Mikey have vacated lately. I like the banter between these two and it's been seriously lacking this season.

Don's back to normal. Not sure if that deserves a 'hurrah' or not due to the fact that when he's not being depressed/mutated/tormented/kidnapped etc, he has a tendency to get phased into the background.

Just noticed Splinter has a goatee. Obviously being in the future for a year has levelled up his cool-rating :D

P.S - First episode where the eyes didn't bug me! I think this is because it looks correct on Turtle Tots. Still wish the adult versions would go back to the pupil-less style...

Funny episode. These humor episodes are good to have, the first five episodes of the season were action packed so it was time for a humor episode but too bad it is shorth season so these too wacky episode take time from better stories and it is disturbing espesially if this is the last season.

Turtle tots are annoying but it is good see that they have had some adventures before episode 1. I have always hated the idea that they live peaceful life first fifteen years of their life and then BAM suddenly mousers attack to their lair and starting from that point they go every other week into another dimension or into the space fight against all sort of freaks so it is good see that they had some weird events before episode 1 events.

There are two other television shows that used the term, Klunk.

It might not have been the awesomest or anything, but it was enjoyable none-the-less. I, personally, would have preferred they had titled this one "The Incredible Shrunken Serling" though. More likely basing her opinion on the fact that BttS is still a pale comparison to the first four seasons of 2K3... Seriously, so what if April talked about Casey coming home with someone else's blood on him or Hun threatened to cut off April's finger. Shock value is a poor substitute for the finesse the show used to have. But, it's the best we'll get with an economy in the crapper and a show getting up in years, so she'll just have to learn to count her blessings.

They've also stopped making episodes based on comics so it seems to me that's where most of the complaints are coming from, as you know most of the seasons people seem to enjoy have a majority of episodes that have stories that had been written years ago and had plenty of time to age and be changed for tv.

You act like the show's never been like this in the past. It has. There was so much filler in seasons two and three, you could fit them in your teeth, all of 'em likewise had the same kind of dry, dull humour that, frankly, the show always SUCKED at.

I actually liked this episode for what its intentions were; cute and entertaining. It was pure brain candy; sugar side-affects may occur. This was a nice little break from all the action.

I like this season so far as well. It's better than Fast Forward, but I think anything would have been better. Just think what we could have ended up with instead. There are far worst possibilities and we all read about those ideas.

Well, on one hand, Mystic, people are entitled to their opinions. That's what makes the world great. If we all thought alike, everything would be dull, and we wouldn't have anything enjoyable we have now.

On the other hand, there has never been an episode of TMNT that I've actually hated - just ones I've liked less than others. With the exception of this episode teetering a bit off the path, I feel the episodes have been getting progressively better - balancing everything out a bit better and so forth - and I just keep seeing people indicating that they think the series is getting progressively worse? It's, of course, not up to mid-2K3 level, but I think we were spoiled by all of that. It's still the best damn kid's show on TV right now. It always was. Even Fast Forward, which a lot of people despised (although the later episodes were much better), was better than a majority of the drivel that passes for children's programming these days.

Preach it, brother!

That was... one of the most bizarre eps I've seen in awhile. I think I'll leave it at that.

What's worse than the 'shell' comments? Hearing them from a toddler. :ohwell:

I think part of the reason the other guys aren't helping retrieve Splinter, is they feel a bit out of their league. Tech is not their thing, and finding data bits is techy like woah. And it could be that Don moves around faster when he's alone, since he doesn't have to explain to the others what he's doing. I mean... I have family members that would much sooner do something themselves, then have to explain to me how I can help. "By the time you understand, I'd have finished." Heh.

And I think the writing team is being rather too hard on Serling; or maybe he's just programmed to complain even when he's perfectly happy. ;) He's a lot more tolerant than he lets on... he helped raise a baby to young adulthood, after all. :P I find myself unconvinced by his protests, always have... He misses Cody, more than they're driving him nuts, I think.

The whole piano keys on the floor in the Toy Store screams "Big". :/

It's interesting seeing the Turtle Tots fighting each other over a "new toy". I find myself smiling with the running gag of them claiming ownership.

Well, slightly better than Father and Sons, I admit... but the old guy's "evil toys with weapons" thing is kind of lame, considering well, what kind of kid (or parent who has the money) would want em? :o

LOL It was so cute! It's nice to see that old serious Leo was just as playful and rambunctious as the others when he was little.

One question though. With the turtles still being so young, why on earth would Splinter allow them out of his sight to play out side the lair? The turtles where what two or three? My mom never let me outside the house in the backyard when I was that age. O.o

One question though. With the turtles still being so young, why on earth would Splinter allow them out of his sight to play out side the lair? The turtles where what two or three? My mom never let me outside the house in the backyard when I was that age. O.o

Good point...I don't know, maybe All My Sons was on or something and Splinter got distracted...? :D Or maybe he was there...hiding in the shadows all ninja-like and protective?

(fyi: I totally just guessed the name of a soap opera, was I right? I'm a Brit and all we have is Eastenders and Corrie...and that one about a farm or something...)

Even better, it's a perfect parody title for a fictitious soap opera in the TMNT universe, as it is one part 'My Three Sons', one part 'Splinter has more than three, so he wouldn't be interested in that', and another part 'All My Children'.

Why would Serling hide the time window? It's not like the Turtles don't want him to go home.

... it took how many pages for someone to think of that?

Yeah, that was pretty juvenile. I didn't much care for the way the last Serling-esque robot was defeated either. But, at least it wasn't April who unplugged the enemy this time. But, if you want some more nits to pick, why was Serling able to go through this time window? He only worked on the 'organics-only until Viral modifies it last-second' version. And, why did he get Shrunk just once by a machine that should have nothing to do with 'manipulating space instead of time'? That's awfully convenient, isn't it?

All logic aside, it was still enjoyable (especially since we got to see Splinter in action again).

Maybe he was scared that they would try and 'help'. With Don away in cyberspace, I'm not sure I would want any of the remaining turtles near a highly breakable and delicate device!

So I'm not the only one seeing stuff 'burrowed' from 1986-1996 TMNT cartoon? I also noticed the evil toys. Oh yeah, the battery joke was used too, shut off the evil toy. I forgot which episode that was from, but it was about the alien kid dangerous toy that was overheating that could destroy the earth, and April solved the problem by taking out the battery.

The Turtle tots never bothered me, I like seeing episodes with them in it.

Did someone say Klunk will be shown in the next episode? Really? What does he look like in color?

The original TMNT cartoon aired 1987-1996, not 1986-1996.

I was talking about a monster or that demon from fathers and sons eating the turtle tots, that would have been the best episode for me.

there is one think that bothers me. the turtles remember the events happened in this episode after serling's return, but shredder doesn't remember the events happened on fast forwards' episode 'Timing Is Everything', because then 'shredder strikes back' episode's couldn't happen. I think that's a big mistake by tmnt actors.

Yes, because the actors just come up with the scripts off the top of their heads...

Man, I sound like Zarius....

Sorry, I'm sure you meant "writers".

How do you figure. I don't see any problem.

If anything, maybe seeing the Turtles stronger in the future further motivated him to destroy them.

I think that's a big mistake by tmnt actors.Just because Shredder didn't burst in and shout "Hey, remember after I fell off the roof and you had those glowing future swords?!" to Lenoard during The Shredder Strikes Back, doesn't mean it didn't happen. In fact, we have to assume it did, since the series has been shown to follow a predistination view of time travel again and again.

As Matt said, perhaps Shredder thought, "Not only did the Turtles drop me off a roof, but they also pulled me into a strange dimension and possess glowing weapons. I should really try to kill them now." Being an Utrom, he'd seen stranger stuff, and at this point, Shredder knew almost nothing about the Turtles anyway.

What are you talking about? At 'shredders time back' the turtles thought the shredder was destroyed, and the shredder knew that. This is the point. If 'timing is everything' happened then the shredder would thought that the turtles know he is not dead. Do you understand what i mean?

gobo

That's understandable, but here's the important thing: Ch'rell maybe could have acted like he knew, but he didn't. As the writers can't follow up to stuff they haven't written, you just have to forgive the dodginess of the story from time to time. How many times did Splinter conveniently give loads of information on The Shredder when it appeared he was as much in the dark as the Turtles? I still think this continuity is closer to airtight than plenty of TV shows that get higher acclaim.

Do you understand what i mean?I suppose, but I'm not sure it was ever really established that Shredder knew the Turtles thought he was dead.

Otherwise, I guess you could just chalk it up to a small plothole.

No, he knew for sure. He said that in 'Tales of leo'. I guess i will just go with gobo's explanation.
