Am I the only one that kind of likes Serling? I have to say that I started off not liking the giant garbage disposal very much. He was a dry character ment to replace two awsome character that I had grown attached to for five seasons and then I was forced to content with a long suffering british butler sterotype who occassinally made mildly amusing coments. :| I couldn't care less about him. But I dunno some where along the line he grew on me, and when I found out he was going to come back to the present with the turtles I found that I didn't mind so much. In fact I think I like him enough as a character that I actually care about him now and I've genuanly come to enjoy him, and his personality. Some thing about the snooty highly refined demeaner of his that works humourously with the turtles more hard hitting, rambunctious, testoterone induced personas. :lol: So does any one else here like Serling or do most of you louth the robot?

I remember liking Serling's dialog back in FF as well, its just that we also had Constable Biggles back then, so people just thought it was too much in terms of robots.

I like Serling. His dry wit is a bit of a welcome contrast to the zaniness that stands as the series' other humour. That, and Turtle X-tinction was the only episode of the series that made me shed a tear - no joke.

I never got it either, but I've seen a few people making comments about him sounding like a stereo typical gay person, which I don't think he does at all but it could just be that these people are raised to hate anything differnt, hence the Serling hate because they think he's flamey.:roll:

I tolerate him. I do not dislike him in any way. He may not be one of my favorite characters, but I have absolutely nothing against him. He did a great job in raising Cody.

I really do like Serling... I also gotta admit I liked Biggles too. But I think the problem isn't so much with Serling, it's the turtles' over all attitude towards him (Mikey and Raph especially). I admit, I'll be pretty disappointed if Serling and Don don't find some bond with each other, since they seemed to be working on the tech to get Splinter back together.

I don't necessarily hate Serling, but I didn't like the way he treated the Turtles. Sure, Mikey and Raph were jerks to him, but Leo and Don never really did anything to irritate him. I know he misses Cody, but you would think that he'd be more polite since he is a guest in the Turtles' home. However, I'm hoping this latest episode has shifted Serling's character and that he'll be a lot nicer to the Turtles in future eps.

I don't get this jazz about him being stereotypical "Gay" person, but he is the stereotypical British Butler type, as per his character. Sort of like a more uptight version of Duckworth (the butler from Ducktales that isn't even a duck at all... I never quite got that). Throw in a little Sam the Eagle, and we got Serling.

Yes, and I agree. Leo and Don don't do anything to him, it's just Mike and Raph... but MOSTLY Mikey. Like in that second episode of BTTS where he was making Serling carry things around with him.

Well, Biggles was sort of a reference to Monty Python. It was the name of either a constible or a sargent, as well as a recurring name (i.e. a book in one skit was called "Biggles Combs his Hair"). He even looks a little like Graham Chapman.

But British and butler go together like French and chef... old stereotyped careers for stereotyped nationalities...

Actually he reminds me alot of OS Raphael with his sarcasm. But with the posh life style and stuff he's got some Frasier Crane in him too.

Bishop and Serling are probably my two favorite characters originally created for the 2003 show. Serling's awesome, and he is definately not the "Fugitoid Lite" some say he is. They're different enough.

Biggles was totally a Monty Python refferance and there is just one of the many reasons I enjoyed FF so much, as if the "What's All this Then" line wasn't a dead give away.
But most americans under the age of og say 25 don't seem to be fans of old British shows so it goes right over their heads and they're all omgz this is the lamez waaa!! I wantsz my darks ninja turtles back since they killed people in the first 4 seasons and it was uber dark and and and and wa wa wa.:lol:

mm, guys lets just talk about Serling ok. I don't want this to degenrate into why FF sucked or why fans couldn't give it a chance. I don't want this to get locked like my Paris Hilton thread did.

I just thought of something, I think the reason I had a problem with Serling was not becuase of Serling him self but how the turtles acted toward him. The turtles acted pretty rude and bratty with him and it wasn't doing much for their characters to see them that way, and I felt Serling's presence was the cause of this unfavorable change in their characters.

I mean alot of people where kind of mad at Serling for not caring about the turtles very much, but given their treatment of him can you blame him for not being very adoring of the turtles? And it was all four of them that where being complete brats to him not just Raph and Mikey. Remember when Serling tried to help the turtles out of that game Viral trapped them in and the turtles turned the video game back on while he was still hooked up to it making him go through it all over again. For no reason other than be dicks? That was pretty uncalled especially since he had just saved them.

I personally don't mind Serling, I think his dry humour can be quite amusing sometimes. I think the way that the turtles sometimes treat him however is ridiculous. If he's just saved their sorry shells, do they really need to act like such idiots towards him?

Remember when Serling tried to help the turtles out of that game Viral trapped them in and the turtles turned the video game back on while he was still hooked up to it making him go through it all over again. For no reason other than be dicks? That was pretty uncalled especially since he had just saved them.Hands down my least favorite ending in the entire series. Alot of the Fast Foward episodes ended up making one or more Turtles look like dicks at the end. I guess they were searching for humorous endings, but when the Turtles gang up on the robot who just saved them, or when Mikey asks about a ball game after they realize they just helped Zixx smuggle weapons, something isn't right.

I don't mind Serling. And I think the reason I don't mind him is because I got what I wanted with the turtles going back to the present and doing the "in the shadows" sneaking around on roof tops things.

I feel kind of bad that Serling seems to get disapointed by people he thinks he should admire or like. It seem that after meeting Casey finnally he's rather disapointed in him. Poor guy always seems like he is constantly being let down.
