View Full Version : Crossovers....

Has there ever been a definite list of all of the crossovers the TMNT have been a part of in all forms of media? I think it would be interesting to compile such a list. I've got quite a few that I can think of off of the top of my noggin, but of course, I don't know everything about 'em. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and keep your fanfics out of this, to any of you who would dare consider injecting them here .
(And I would use Rose's Flickr album for assistance, but it's been set to private :dead:)

What about "The Last of the Viking Heroes"? (Can't think of the publisher, though I think it might have also happened in a Turtle Soup book as well as the Viking Heroes series).
Also, Image's Vanguard crossed over in Volume 3.

In one Captain Planet episode, you could say that there was a crossover with the TMNT. The characters DID think that the TMNT showed up.

I wouldn't count it as much of a cross over... but in an old Mother Goose and Grimmy comic, Hamm asks what the difference between Michelangelo and Leonardo (the artists). Grimmy answers "Michelangelo has the orange mask, Leonardo has the blue one." and he's watching TMNT on a television set in the last panel. But then again, that's parody. You could even consider the Animaniacs bit a crossover by that logic.

Updated the list a bit, and decided to add Sherlock Holmes anyway; Wikipedia lists things like Batman/Tarzan as crossovers, so I though, why the hell not.
Well TMNT Archie crossed over with Archie who crossed over with Punisher from the Marvel universe who has had crossovers with Godzilla who has crossovers with almost anything Japanese. And Marvel has crossovers with DC Comics that makes the list way too big ;)
I mean we'd have Street Fighter, all of capcom, SNK, Mario Bros, Link, Pikachu, Austin Powers, Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny just out of the top of my head.

Mutanimals are more of a spin-off of Archie TMNT. Maybe this thread deserves a spin-off notation. Like for Fugitoid and Gizmo in Mirage?
EDIT: Still no Vanguard notation on Image crossovers? Man, tough crowd! Among all obscure superheroes, he's probably the one I'm most interested in learning more about. Don't ask me why, cuz I don't know. He just seems like he has so much backstory! He's an alien life-form who has an April O'Neil like reporter-girlfriend (or at least she wore a jumpsuit in the TMNT Image issues) and a robot/pet that likes to change into stuff even though it's not supposed to have independent thoughts!

Yes, but they still returned to the TMNT stories sometimes.
Yes, they did. But would still be from the fact that's where they started. The most that could be said of for a 'crossover' is on the basics of a story from TMNT Adventures continuing in an issue of Mutanimals and going back to another issue of TMNT. As the Mutanimals went back to being in TMNT Adventures (when their own comic ended).

That doesn't matter. The character became public domain, I'm 99% sure. Edgar Rice Burroughs died in 1950, and the character of Tarzan (but not the name, apparently) is public domain in the US. And it doesn't matter because I threw Holmes on the list anyway.

Ok...looking at that list I see there's a couple missing:
ALF Annual 03 (Their only appearance in a Marvel book)
Boris the Bear 01 (along with Woody Woodpecker, the Care Bears, Usagi, Cerebrus, Miami Mice, The Tick, Adolescent Radioactive Black-Belt Hamsters, The Looney Tunes, Mighty Mouse..... Well Boris basically kills them all cuz he can )
Samurai Penguin (a story that's a sequel to Boris the Bear 01, where everyone gets their revenge on Boris!)
Gen13 v1 issue 13b (Image)
The Shadow of the Groundhog 01
And what about Furrlough? There was a 4 part story that was never finished. Ninjara and her daughter, Moka, were in it. Mokoshen had been murdered and she was plotting revenge on who killed him. It was never explained entirely what happened to Mokoshen tho... Moka was an adorable Fox/Wolf. The turtles themselves didn't appear in it but April could be seen on a tv in the first issue of the story and Ninjara passed by somebody who looked like Oyuki.

What would make this list more user-friendly would be if you could specify who crossed over into whose universe for each of these examples. Like for The Savage Dragon in '88-97 Figures, I haven't a clue if that means he was in Playmates' line or the Turtles were in SD's line.
Also, about the ALF book, that was a parody featuring the Melmacian equivalent of TMNT. I'm pretty sure that doesn't count as a crossover.

If your count the 2k3 hosting the Chaotic special as crossover worthy you should also count the Super Brawl weekend commercial specials that aired on the Fox Box and 4Kids TV in 2004 and 2005. The turtles won both Super Brawls. They defeated the main characters from Shaman King, Cubix: Robots For Everyone, Ultimate Muscle, and One Piece. Since 4kids owns the rights to all those shows it can be considered "official" and not a copyright violation.
As far as I know no one has all the commercials taped but here is one of them featuring Sonic vs Kirby so you can get a gist of what the fights looked like:

I considered it. It's kind of a gray area since whereas that was actually an episode of Chaotic in which that occurred, these were just bumpers. It did rock that the Turtles won two years in a row, though
Wow that is freaking awesome!
Not to mention the first time you saw Sonic nintendo cross over character and now you can re-create that on Brawl.
BTW maybe the list should be separated for "real" crossovers and non-official ones like that one.

You know, when I was a kid, I use to play with my ninja turtle figures along with my He-Man figures. With all of the galaxy and dimension hoppin the turtles would do, a Masters of the Universe/TMNT crossover would've been epic !
What about the Toxic Crusaders ? It was also a Fred Wolf toon, and I remember Toxie was in the sewers wondering if he'll meet the " mutants from that other show ", which, I'm assuming was the TMNT.

Chaotic (Splinter and the TMNT hosted a "how to" episode)
:teek:What?! Which episode, and in WHICH season, of Chaotic did THIS one happen in?!:teek: I was trying to keep track of all the eps, and hope to get them on DVD one day (home-recorded ones, that is. I don't know if any seasons/eps of Chaotic WERE ever commercially-released!), and I would LOVE to see THIS one!
Also, what was the NAME of this ep, IF it even HAD one? Help? :tconfuse:

I've got absolutely no information about it, I just stumbled across it a coupla weeks back. Pretty much seems to be the Turtles explaining how the show/game works...

Thankies for the link, discordia, but for WHATEVER reason, this library comp that I'm using at the moment doesn't seem to want to let me view the video. Hafta tray again later, using a different comp, I guess. But I'll KEEP trying til I can watch it.

Like Mirage Raph said about the 2k3 turtles... "sellouts!"

That's more a reference, not a crossover.
OK. Maybe we should have an own thread for references.

Back when the NT first started I thought a cool crossover would be with Jackie Chan Adventures

Hella-ass bump and slight update to the list. There may be stuff still in this topic I haven't touched yet just because I've not the time to comb through all of the pages.
Most notably, I added Fugitoid because he and all of his associated characters (the Triceratons and Federation) actually were published prior to TMNT.

Maybe you'll add Predator to this list soon? :trazz: But hey, when did the TMNT meet The Ghostbusters?

Oh ok, I never knew that Slimer was in that, I've only sat through Mikey's main scene.

So you've never seen the scene where Mikey's singing with Tigger, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Bugs Bunny, Alf, the Chipmunks, and the muppet babies? :P
