So, I'm thinking of making my own Black Super Shredder as opposed to spending $50 for one..does anybody have this figure?
I am wondering if the black paint is shiny and glossy or a flat tone.
Thx

I don't have it on me at the moment, but I'm pretty sure it's just plain and flat.

There is no black paint. The figure was molded with black plastic.

Is that so? I never took a good enough look at my own figure to tell...

ah interesting. thanks.
so it's totally unpainted black plastic- with no highlihts or anything like that?
makes sense as an anti-bootleg measure, i guess

Rose is correct. The plastic however is pretty glossy :-)

his blades were casted in a darker plastic than the original Super Shredder. I guess it was to make them look more like actual metal. Playmates also used the darker blades for their later re-releases of the regular Super Shredder.

I thought I was just seeing things when it came to the darker blades on the re-releases and black-suited version. Also: I checked my figure, black plastic indeed, and it didn't appear glossy to me because it was dusty

Looks good - better than the original, I must say.
