OK Folks, in 2009 the time has come and Europe (and all other RC2 Regions) is going to get the first DVD Release of the original Turtles Cartoon Series.
The german DVD Label NewKSM is going to release the first 25 episodes on a 5 Disc Set.
Releasedate is March, 13 2009. The Boxset include the german Hero Turtles Dub, as well as the uncut english Ninja Turtles footage.
The Cover for the DVD will be available in the next few Weeks, but I was told that it will some kind of look like the Volume 2 Lionsgate DVD.
The DVD will be availabe on the amazon store very soon, so also UK Fans can order the DVD there. The prize will be 34.99€ to 44.99€

thats kind of crazy tho, they are releasing them bundled up like that in atleast not in seasons 1 and 2 if we are talking the 1st 25 eps. thats 1,2, and some of season 3. But its something for the europeans, All i wanna know is if lionsgate is working on adding those hidden episode theyve been leaving out since forever.

The price seems expensive, since you could buy Voulmes 1-3 for less than $30. However they will be in 5 discs instead of cramming 10-13 episodes per disc, maybe the quality will be better. The cover looks a lot better just by adding a background when compared to the Vol.2 cover it is based on.

Hopefully the episodes won't be edited and if the price wasn't so high it would be worth importing if the episodes were better quality.

Its a nice collection since the first two seasons (1-18) and the start of season 3 is also good. I wonder at which rate they'll release the sets since they might end catching up to the US releases :lol:

I think J's just speculating on how long the whole series will take to be released (probably based on how long the US has been at it).

just diging out the thread to remind the RC2 interessted in the Forum.

The Boxset will be available on amazon on March 12th (next week) and will now cost 27.99.

@ gobo: 27.99 isn't really that much for the set! A normal DVD (single Disc) costs 14.99 and a double DVD Set 23.99. A Steelbook up to 27.99 and a normal tv series Box with 25 episodes (like the Simpsons Boxsets) costs 48.99 Euros.

The first Box-Set proved that there are many "Fans" of the TMHT in Germany, so KSM has now officially announced that there going to release more TMHT Boxsets.
No word on How many episodes will be included, but I'm pretty sure that each Set will have 25 Episodes or more and will also feature the uncut US Version.

The Boxes will be released in the beginning of 2010.
Keeping the bilingual format? I mean, is there enough Deutsch demand to keep the English audio or is that just an added expense for the company? I ask because I'll hold off on importing a set if they'll release "ONCE UPON A TIME MACHINE" or "PLANET OF THE TURTLEOIDS" with their original English audio tracks before the American distributors do. If they're going with your episode lists, ""ONCE UPON A TIME MACHINE" should be on Volume 3 and "PLANET OF THE TURTLEOIDS" will show up on 4 or 5. If the American distributor doesn't release them on their Season 10 volume as bonuses, this might be our only way to get them in a professional, DVD-quality, digital transfer...

The demand for the Uncut English Version is hugh! On many german DVD Forums Fans and non fans were very pleased that they included them as an Bonus!

And the english Version couldn't have been that expensive, because for a TV Show DVD Box with 25 episodes, the Box was one of the cheapest german release with it's 27.99 Euro (might seem expensive for you guys ;))

And yeah: I got a List from KSMfilm when they asked for an chronoligical List and Once Upon A Time Machine was listed on it. Also Planet of the Turtleloids is listed as "PLANET OF THE TURTLEOIDS (1HR. SPECIAL)"

After my List those episodes would be both on DVD Box 5, but I dont know if KSM will use my List or use their own! Only Time will tell.

I'm going to inform you as soon as I know!

They might be coming out in Australia too. They even have the Euro Vacation episodes in the right order on their sets.

KSMFilm gave me some News on the two new german Releases!

Box 2 will include 25 more episode (episode 26 to 50) and Box 3 30 episodes (51 to 80 or 51 to 66, 143 to 154 and 67). They also told me that its very likely that the uncut US Version will also be included!
Box 2 will be released around March to May and Box 3 around June to August!

I can't wait for the release:D

Woohoo! Region 2 OT DVDs kick shell! Cowabunga!

That's all you'll get from me until "THE TURTLES AND THE HARE", "PLANET OF THE TURTLEOIDS" or "TURTLE TIPS" join the ranks of officially released R2 episoden.

But, allow me to offer a suggestion... You probably ought to post this info on a random R2 DVD forum. I have a feeling the R2 crowd around these parts are probably hardcore fans who already imported the R1 DVDs. So, it's really the casual R2 fans you should be reaching out to, if you're looking for cheers. Just keep posting here too so any of us 'extra hardcores' can stay updated.

A Update about the german DVD Release:

Sales of the 2 new Boxsets (Box 2 & 3) have also been pretty good. NewKSM told me today via E-Mail that they will release more Boxsets with the Series in the following Year.

There are 4 Boxsets missing until we have all episodes of the Show, but if we look at the previous Releases of the Show over here, I'm pretty sure we'll get all 4 next year ;)

I also checked the Episodelist of all the episodes from KSM and "Planet of the Turtleloids" and also "The Turtles and the Hare" are on it.
I will also try to get them to acquire the Rights to the Turtle Tips Clips, but I cannot promise it to be released...
Maybe someone knows who the US Licenseholder of the Turtle Tips is?

Sorry to ask this hudemx but have you had any confirmation Lionsgate won't be releasing any more any more seasons for UK Region 2? Were sales for the first set that bad? I just wanted to know as I've been holding off importing the US ones.

I do not have contact to lions gate only to the german distributor.

But if you're holding off you could import the german Boxsets to the UK, same Regional Code and also the uncut US Episodes, without any subtiles What so ever!
If Lionsgate doesn't have them, I think you should try Fred Wolf Films.

No Release Date now, but I'm pretty sure July to September 2011 sounds realistic ;)

No No no, gobo.. Overseas get the cool stuff..because we all know there are alot of Die Hard Turtle fans in Germany. First they get The Directors Commentary, now they'll probably get not only the missing episodes, but commentaries on the show to boot!

Box 4 was released this Week, sadly the Packagingstyle was changed so that KSM could still hold the Low-Price Level. Instead of 6 Slimcase Amarys inside a Slipcase they now use a Scavano Box (Fat Amary).

But good News, also for American Fans:
Box 5 will be released on December 5, 2011 - again 30 Episodes - and will include the "Lost Episodes" Once Upon A Time Machine and the Planet of the Turtleloids Two-Parter.
Sadly the Coverart is a rehash of the Box 1 and US Season 2 Cover...

No. Since the first batch, they have all, reportedly, been original English audio with optional German dub for the parts that weren't edited out, back in the werdayen.

You can choose at the beginning of the DVD Menue which Version you want to watch:
English Version (Uncut of course)
German Version (TV Cut which is based on the UK Hero Turtles Version)

So no german Subtitle what so ever in the English Version ;)

I have a feeling there will probably be 2 more of these sets remaining. One for US Seasons 6 & 7 (excluding Leonardo is missing), for a total of 29 episodes, and Volume 7 should be the complete Red Sky (I've already seen German dubs of Season 8 and a few Season 9 episodes on a German video site). That may be handy if Season 10 in region 1 hasn't been released at that point.

Absolutly right:
Box 6 will be released in Early 2012 (apx. February) sadly Box 7 (the 3 Red Sky Seasons) isn't planed fo a Release.
Back in 2007 when those 3 were released overhear (without the english Audio) they sold very poor - it took me a while to convince KSM to give the TMNT another Chance by releasing the first 25 Episode, which proofed being a sucess.
After the Release of Box 5 I'll try to talk to them again to rerelease those 3 Red Sky Season with english Audio, but I can't promise anything...

So Lionsgate has always had Once upon a time machine and "Planet of the Turtleoids."

If they don't put them on the Season 10 DVD, they better do a stand-alone special DVD with them.

hudemx, do you know if you could ask that version of the company as to why Lionsgate skipped those episodes in the U.S.? Maybe you can see if they can get them out over here.

Well no sadly, it seems that it was kind of a muckup back when Season 5 was released.
I recaive a Episodelist in Late 2009 from KSM with all Episodes listed in it (including the 3 "Lost Episodes") which KSM on the other Hand received from Lionsgate.
So I have no clue why - sry
But you could import the german Box (pretty sure Gobo will get some copys like he did a year ago when the "Special Edition" of the First Movie was released over here)

Haven't fans e-mailed them about this back when the Season 5 and 6 sets originally came out?

We should all start reminding them since I get the feeling the Season 10 DVD will come out next summer.

German episodes simply say "Ninja" instead of "Teenage Mutant Ninja" on top of the logo in the intro, but the theme is sung using "Hero" instead of "Ninja". A little strange, huh? Also, the closing credits vary, but the entire English credits are used, which means that the wrong voice actors get their credit! We only see a couple of German credit pages after these where the MWS/Fred Wolf/Group W logos would be found on the English versions. Plus, the German Outro is a somewhat jazzy theme with lyrics that I really enjoy.

As a nit-picker, I've always wondered how the German eps are set up. Since it's visually supposesed to be The UK's Hero Turtles intro, is that what I can expect?

Also, are all the voice-actors' comments still in the theme song? I bought a recording of it off of iTunes, and they were removed (likely for legal issues).

Yes it's the UK Intro, but the "Teenage Mutant Hero" Sign has been altered to just a "Ninja" Sign:

This change was made in apx 2003-2005 when the complete Series was reshown for the last time on Television. As far as I found out the trademark to the Title Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles wen out and so it had to be altered by the TV Channel so they would be able to show reruns of it.

After listening to it again, I think I confused it with my elongated French theme. However, there are some mixing variations in the song that appears on this album.

Wow didn't know this Version actually existed! Great ^^

Sadly the Ending Song is nowhere available in a good Quality and without the Voiceactors talking over the beginning of it -.-
