Ok talking to a guy on another board, and he swears that the guys came out in the late 70's with a 5th turtle, that was forced out to live with his mentor.
Have I just really missed something here!?!?! Is any part of this true, and I am just really illinformed about the first version of the TMNT or is this person somehow have venus mixed into this idea?

You know the guy. The idiot. The junkie idiot who smokes too much, always jonsin' for a fix of what the dealer "gots". The one who sees more than 34 turtles at a time.
That guy.

Reason for thinking the turtle was released in the 70's? Because, well, the 70's is where that guy lives....I mean, come on. The 70's were hip.
As Ash would say as he revs up his chainsaw: ....Groooooovy..... :tmad:

Ok copy and paste time, the late 70's I knew were BS but what about this?
But is there anyone who remembers the ORIGINAL Ninja Turtles comics from late 70's . When there were actually 5 turtles,....before that one got banned for live, together with HIS mentor?! (Can't remember much about it since I was never into comics that much and not at all into the underground (no pun) stuff)
I have no clue what your talking about the guys came out in 82-83(?), in the begining there were 4 turtles only. The only offical 5th is Venus, and she is no longer recognised as a real character out side the live action fox universe.
of course I may be wrong, I'll check with the real experts and get back to youThe very very first comics really had five Turtles! The four we know. But also a renegade one with a really odd-ball name! Gino Ginelly or something if I remember correctly. These were very underground comics and were very adult in context! Especially because of the fifth one. He resented the sensai (not sure if he was Spinter in this one) and went off on his own with his 'trainer' which was a white sewer mouse. He was really foul-mouthed and did everything you shouldn't. Sort of like a Stone Cold Steve Austin on acid! When, years later, they decided to make a cartoon and toys and such out of the TMNT, they dropped these two. And instead gave Raph. the bad attitude, but in a far lesser degree! Now I only know this from articles from that time, I never actually saw these comics myself, but there should be someone (old enough) who has, right?
Ok I admit I don't know much about the begining of the TMNT but was there ever a 5th Turtle, Karpo, I know you'll know

After they made it they burned it because it sucked so bad.....then they made what we all come to know and love (and most of us worship on Sundays) the TMNT.
The man had his brain replaced with an ass. He should be hit by a truck.

The guy either does not know anything about TMNT, or is making fun of the people who belived that. I suspect the latter.

The guy either does not know anything about TMNT, or is making fun of the people who belived that. I suspect the latter.I suspect BOTH. With bashing comes ignorance. You know what I mean, those that make lousy bashings about it and think they're right. Just like one of my friends at school absolutely hates LOTR. "It's just a story about a bunch of small people carrying this ring around." Let it be known that this is also a guy that's a conservative Catholic in Army ROTC at my school who thinks that any of these "geeky" crazes is only stuff for nerds who'll never get laid....
