Hello Fellow Dromers!

I saw some folks have posted pieces of their collection. So I thought I would show some of mine. BUT FIRST... Thought I would give you some background on these pieces...

Disclaimer: I am in no way an expert here. The information I share is referenced from reading I have done over the years. If you have additional information about these pieces, please share as I would love to learn more myself.

Okay so to get started, in 1984 25mm metal miniatures were produced by a company called Dark Horse. This company was a small producer of metal gaming miniatures in the 80s.

According to Action Figure News and Toy Review, Nov. 14 issue if you are interested, the first miniatures cast by Dark Horse were the four main turtles. These miniatures grew in popularity, and would eventually evolve into about 10 sets of characters taken directly from very early comic books. The miniatures were never mass-marketed. In addition, Dark Horse went out of business. So the miniatures are scarce, but from what I can tell sought after by collectors.

Anyhow, just thought I would share that little tid bit. I hope you enjoyed. Here is a picture for your viewing pleasure. It was hard to capture such small items even with an 8mp camera. If you happen to have any carded miniatures as such, I would love to see them. Please post pics here if you have any.

as always.... TURTLE POWER!

I have never owned them myself, but they don't fetch too high of prices on eBay that I've seen. There's a couple of sets on right now with a current price of $4.99

http://desc.shop.ebay.com/items/?_nkw=Dark+Horse&_sacat=45450&LH_TitleDesc=1&_fromfsb=&_trksid=m270.l1313&_odkw=&_osacat=45450

They are really neat from what I can tell.

Nice find! Wish I would have seen that one when I purchased these haha. I spent way too much. That seller seems to have quite a bit of Turtle stuff for sale.

Here is the list of Dark Horse 25mm Turtles that I am aware of. This list is not comprehensive.

Donatello
Raphael
Michaelangelo
Leonardo
(Two sets were produced of the original four with their typical weapons. The other set of four were produced with lasers as their weapons.)

Terror Bears
Triceratrons (One set comes with an elaborate Flying Harness as shown in my picture)
Mousers
Fugitoid
Casy Jones
Splinter
Shredder
Dr. Feral and some of his various henchmen

Additional MISC Info:

Dark horse used two types of packaging for these figures. The earlier packaging included a red, grey and black card. The packaging there after was more defined with a TMNT logo on the top and Leonardo showing off his swords.

Here is a carded example I found of an earlier carded set:

Also, Dark Horse produced a set of four 75mm Turtle Figures. I have yet to see these hit ebay. Would love to see an example of these for sure though.

As the saying goes... 'Ask and you shall receive!' So I was in Columbus Ohio over the weekend, and while I was away someone so kindly took the time to look for the 75mm Dark Horse miniatures, and actually came up with pictures!. I was so excited. :) Anyhow, I will leave them below for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Sorry it has been so long since I have contributed anything to this. I had the itch to see if anyone had interest, and was happy to see some responses.

So this morning I scanned a few images from my toy guide mag. First, I should say if you do not have the Action Figure News & Toy Review Nov. #14 Issue, GET IT! I think its a great addition to anyone's collection. Its not the turtle bible or anything, but I think it has some valuable information. Anyhow, if scanning images from a mag like this is a big 'no no', please let me know, and I'll take the images down. (Kinda a noob on the whole scanning business. haha)...

These are neat, but nothing I'm keen to own myself. That said, I came across this tonight: http://www.milehighcomics.com/cgi-bin/backissue.cgi?action=list&title=86435051509&snumber=1

Looks to be NM carded miniatures of
Foot Soldiers
Terror Bears
Dr. Feral and henchmen
for $20 each, but if you type in Mile High's limited-time 60% off coupon code NEWWAREHOUSE then it's $8 with free shipping offered on orders over $10 (not sure if it's as free for overseas customers). NEWWAREHOUSE is set to end Tuesday, but NANETTE2 will still be valid for 50% off after that.

Hope somebody can take advantage of this!

I have to say "thank you!" to the poster above for sharing... My purchase experience with http://www.milehighcomics.com was fantastic! They packaged everything incredibly well, and sent plenty of confirmation e-mails. Everything I received was in exceptional condition. I'll post pictures soon enough. :)

You're most welcome and I'm happy somebody took advantage of the deal. Those were buried pretty deep in Mile High's listings and their search function is often a hindrance (made worse by their own spelling errors).

Looking forward to seeing some pics!

Ive come across a few of these at stores that have them as board game figures... kinda odd but theres also a few sites that sell them, most are not action figure websites.

Nice collection though sir!
