A while ago, back when I posted on UM (Under Manhattan), I was talking about doing a Casey Jones Vs. Venom comic. Well, People seemed interested. But the writer never got around to it, and I stopped thinking about it. I went on to doodle and sketch other things, like Ninja Turtles with correct anatomy. I.E., smaller legs at the top, wide at the bottom, thin arms, flatter shells.

I started a book, Spider-Man: Sinner. A story on the lines of the movie Seven, and Spidey tries to stop the mystery baddie with the help of Venom. My takes on characters are different from Marvel's. Eddie and Peter are friends, they understand each other. They confide in each other.

Kletus Kasady is more of a Hannibal Lector-esque character. Glass cell. Smart, crazy, intellectual...

Peter ends up talking to Kasady. Kasady says something along the lines of "I smell a spider about" and it goes on. The story revolves around people with issues around Peter being plucked off, murdered by their sins.

I started to make Eddie/Venom a main- MAIN character. And I started sketching what he would look like. He has his sanatiy in my story, though he loses it. So I drew a different version than the ones posted on UM. A sane, almost Heroic look, with a tint of "Could kill us all some day" look.

In study hall on monday, after going on 3 days without sleep, I started drawing with my Gel pen. The drawing went from kinda screwy to ..... Well, to pat myself on the back, amazing. Blood covered, beaten, war-torn. I knew by the end This IS Casey Jones.

I started to think of the Venom Vs. Casey comic again.... And, the more I think about it, the more I want to write it as a story. Before I do, I want some feedback from you guys. Most of you have seen my few starter posts in the RPG forums.

So tell me, what should I do? Make it and post it? Or say screw it and become a catatonic vegatable, wallowing in self pity, watching repeated of Cheers and I Love Lucy, eating Girl scout cookies?

It's kind of hard to picture to visualize this. When I think Spidey and Venom they always have a fragile alliance. It's just they way things are. I think if they are friends and "confide" in each other, they just seem........gay. In my personal opinion Casey should be a mediator between them. That would be neat. But I would really like to see the pictures.

Confide meaning friendship. They both have to deal with secrets. And they're both teens trying to deal with it. Not gay.

Casey wouldn't act as a mediator. Both Venom and Casey are Anti-Heroes. It would be an epic battle. An alien symbiote, versus a hard core vigilante.

Yeah, those, they suck. I drew some more, it'll take a few days to scan. All inked and pretty.

Venom isn't killer. He's an Anti-Hero. He has killed, but he doesn't make it his job. Depending on the writer is when he kills. Originally, Venom was a hero who was mistaken a lot. Scared a kid he thought he was saving.

It's complicated.

Actually, originally, Venom was an insane killer. He wanted to get even with Spider-Man because both Eddie Brook and the symbiot had hatred for him. Only after the Carnage fiasco, did he become an anti-hero, wanting to save those that can't protect themselves. He's still a sociopath, but he think he's doing good now.

I figure I'll just write it and post it. Some of you might like, or hate the twist.

I'm going by the comics of him being an anti-hero, I might, probably, have missed something.

And about Casey's look in the original comics. The mask was pointed and jagged and everything was sharp to prove the point of darkness and destruction. Yeeeah, now it's not. Jasey's mask is back to normal and junk.

Even after that Venom has come after Spiderman few times.

Yeah, but thats Eddie Brock's whole basis in Marvel's story lines. Peter Parker ruined Brock's life, now Venom and Brock want to ruin Parker's. But I'm not talking about the Sinner book. (Brock does end up hating Peter in that, but for the most part he's sane.)

I've always thought Venom in his own sick way thought he was a protector of the innocent. I'm pretty sure it was always that he WAS a killer to some degree. He'd kill if it meant reaching his ultimate goal of ruining Peter/Spider-Man but if he didn't have to kill innocence he wouldn't.

Hate to say it, but our favorite hockey stick weilding vigilante would stand no chance against Venom.

Alright, I'm just gonna write it and post it to show you how Casey would hold his own.

I just finished the story. about 7 pages. I'll post it in the Fan section. Ok, read it there. If it seems speeded, it was, I might edit it later.

Well, it's true that Venom was crazy... but there have been many sides when he sided with Pete. BTW the whole point Brodie was trying to make, was the fact that he was going to make the characters different, but the same. Kinda like how the turtles from the new cartoon are different from the original but are still the same... hard to explain.

Brodie

It's like Kevin Smith's views on Daredevil, or Straczynski's view on Spidey. Everything is different from the original. If Spider-Man would always stay the same, Peter Parker would be a little Pre-teen weekling, not dealing with stuff like 9-11, or Aunt May finding out his identity.

And like Cook said, it's like the different views on the Turtles. I'm not saying I'm gonna cut off Peter's hand and have a badguy eat it. Not gonna have Mary Jane get half her voice scarred from acid. Or Eddie Brock shot and killed, to come back as a cyborg.

Did that actually happen? I haven't been reading the spidey comics in years.

No, no. That stuff happened to the turtles in the Image comics.

Haha, that sounds retarded. So I'm considering collecting the comics... I guess the Image books are out.

I'd stear clear. Donny gets shot on the first page. You don't even see it. It's just a panel of him lying on the ground.
