Someone mentioned to me that the Turtles were originally criminals, ie, "bad guys" in the original comics.. I dug up my old copies of Volume 1 and I am trying to figure this mystery out....

By brutally beating them to near death and then knocking their thermite grenade, which they threw as a last ditch effort to destroy you, back at them killing them and avenging your sensi's sensi's death?

Of course they're criminals. They've always been criminals.
Hell, even Batman's a criminal. It doesn't make them bad people.

Vigilante = Criminal?
I guess so....but as others have said, not "bad guys."

Vigilante = Criminal?Yeah, but also add "vagrancy" and the more serious "murder" to their list.

True...bu...bu...but they were avenging the death of their master's master.Gang members get arrested for doing that sort of thing every day.

Yeah, but also add "vagrancy" and the more serious "murder" to their list.
But the Turtles are animals, not human beings. If a dog kills a human of its own accord, it would be destroyed, but could it be legally charged with murder?

They are anthropomorphic animals...I think murder'd stick.

they are minors anyway
Jester

Then they'd go to Anthropomorphic Animal Juvenile Hall.
Remind me... which one is the Red Ranger again...?

Depends on the on which deviation of the Power Rangers you're lookin' at.No. It's Jason. The others are imposters.

Does it matter? Getting the death sentence for your actions seems like the important part.
*disclaimer*
No animals were harmed during the making of this thread.

Well I was actually kind of talking about this with some friends tonight in comparison to other "super Heroes" the turtles are sort of Anti-heroes because they can get away with a lot of things people like batman wont of can't.
They have used guns, they actually stab or kill people even in the first issue Leo sticks his sward through shredders shoulder, and even drink!
That is what makes them almost more human and interesting than some of the other characters out there I think!

Well alot of Superheroes can kill and hide it. many of them just choose not to, like Batman for instance cannot kill due to some sort of code of his. The Turtles are a bit different in the sense that they will attack until the enemy is no longer a threat or dead. Pretty much the It's us or them kind of mentality, thus resulting in all of these dead villains (Shredder-dead, SHredder clone-dead, Baxter-Dead, Rat King-dead, The Elite-dead, Savanti Juliet and Romero-dead).

the turtles live seperet from society and where raised in a very old tradional ninja way. In a way the turtles have their own little society that much diffrent from normal human soceity with harsher rules and norms that we have, with their own little hierarchy with Splinter as their ruling head. And if Splinter tells them to go execute some one for what ever reason they're going to do it. SO no the turtles aren't "bad guys" per se, their values just differ from ours.
