This may be ancient news, but I've been out of the country for the past 2 months, and couldn't find it anywhere in the archives (which surprised me cuz it's rather big news), so I thought I'd write to let all the turtle-fans out there know that the current "tales of the tmnt" comic series is being sold on iTunes in the App store as digital downloads by UCLICK LLC. It's $0.99 a comic, and they currently have issues 1 thru 6 available for download (this includes the hard to find issue #5, precursor to the Leo: Blind Sight saga!). Just search "tales tmnt" in the app store and they should pop up. Anyway, just wanted to let that be known, and if it was already announced way back, excuse my disturbance and have a wonderful new year!

I didn't know about this either. It's great to see that TMNT is staying on the cutting edge with this and Wowio. It will be a while before this stuff catches on in a big way, but it will and the people that have their stuff already available are going to be at a great advantage.

I hate digital comics , tho i know that the future is digital first - TPB later kind of future, so as long as a a hard copy is printed in book form later i am ok with that. Plus digital stuff will be the only way for the small publishers to keep on standing ( what a pity )
But in the situation of TMNT which does not have very popularity in comics medium ( again what a pity ) every kind of way to catch new fans is a good thing.
I would get them if i had an iPod in fact ( tho i would probably not read them as i still hate digital format, but i would just feel good that i owned them in iPod as well. )

On the other hand i am one of the last ppl on earth whose idea must be asked about digital stuff. I still play with my Amiga 500 on a mini black and white tv in my room full of comic boxes, tpbs, HCs and action figures. And i am getting closer to 28. Gah...

Is there a way to view these in iTunes? I downloaded an issue assuming that even though I don't have an iPod Touch, I could just view it in the program itself.

Is there now way? That's...really stupid.

I've downloaded a few on my iphone and its a great format. I always keep forgetting to post about it here on the forums.

Flipping pages is easy, the quality is good etc. The thing is they are only 99 cents and they are really great impulse buys. I bought the first one while bored waiting in line to buy tickets for Radiohead.

I would get them to show some support but don't have the touch or iphone.

So, I actually got around to downloading one of these just to see what it was like (even though I have the issues in comic form), and thought I should mention on this thread that these are not page-by-page scans of the comic - it's more of a panel-by-panel situation, and in some cases they'll break up a big one-pager (as they did with the frontispiece in this particular issue) so that it's easier to read the word blurbs. Oh, and you can't zoom in or out, it's just a tap/swipe deal to get to the next panel. I haven't quite decided whether I like this format... it's certainly ipod/iphone friendly, but might lose some meaning here and there without the full-page composition. Anyway, just thought I'd share in case somebody was wondering what their $.99 would get them.

Wow... my dumb ass just read the title of this thread and purchased two issues before I realized that you need an itouch/phone to read these.

You'd think that you could open the file through itunes. Oh well only two bucks.
