If you don't mind me asking how much did the commission cost?

That is a great commission. Any particular reason you went with the colors and not red? Awesome tho dude.

jimmyjams

10-19-2009, 12:36 PM

That is a great commission. Any particular reason you went with the colors and not red? Awesome tho dude.

Thanks, I really love it too. Regarding the bandana colors, not really, but most artwork from comic book artist come with red bandanas for obvious reasons, so I wanted to go with something abit different. I grew up with the 80s cartoon, then got into the comics, so this felt right for me..

Plus, I wanted to increase my chances of having this piece become more valuable. I say this because Jim said he liked it alot and was thinking of using it as a print at a future con. Most prints I've seen at cons are with color bandanas. So if this piece does become a print, the original one is going to be worth more, u catch my drift? :)

I agree, it's neat. But the spiral tear in it would drive me NUTS. I'd have to cut it off myself.

Kinda agree with u, but feel the spiral tear gives it a nice touch, like knowing kevin did it in one of his sketch books perhaps

I'd have to check my list/inventory, but I think you're missing the Gold edition that was limited to I believe 1200.

Here's a pic of my diorama I have going featuring the vintage figures. It's the turtles fighting shredder, bebop, rocksteady, krang, mousers, and foot soldiers. Also includes splinter, spril (inside the turtle van), and casey jones. still adding more foot soldiers, mousers and need baxter stockman.

MEGA DOPE! His first & only group shot eh? You've got a piece of history here! It looks most impressive. His white paint outlines really do seal the deal too. Marvelous.

Yeah, I contacted him about a commission but sadly he was not doing them at the time. He really should have done more books. I love his Casey Jones.

I saved your Fosco commission piece a few months back, hoping one day I'd have a skill good enough to color it (& do it justice).
I think I nailed it... I hope you agree!

EDIT: I sent this to Frank, he thought it was pretty decent but that I had some lighting/highlight issues (I am somewhat new to digital coloring). Cool part is, he said he was gonna do a little re-tooling to give me some pointers! Neato!
