It's been awhile since Mirage has published a new trade paperback collection, and that has meant no new exclusive bookplates at paneltopanel.net. But fear not, discussions are underway for some new 25th anniversary bookplates in 2009!! As soon as I have news I'll be posting here. And if any of you are on facebook, search out Panel to Panel.net and become a fan (exclusive news will be posted there as well).

Yeah, hasn't it been almost a year since there's been a new TPB?

Hopefully they will make up for it this year.

Bookplate...?

</ignorance>

A bookplate is a special thing in the TPB's....on the first page it's an attached image of one of the TMNT and they generally have the autographs of the folks associated with the stories. :D

Ninjinister

'Kay, that was confusing, because the only Bookplates I've ever heard of is just a page that says "This Page Belongs To...."

Spitfire

A bookplate is not even a plate it's a picture printed on photo paper that's pretty small and autographed. When I got my trades in the mail with these "plates" I was rather baffled at why people were excited about them since they're really nothing special.

Collectibles... Need I say more? :D

They're a neat touch but I was hoping for something more, high quality. The Eric one was neat I liked that but the other two were Lawson drawings and well...yeah. I don't know how many different ones there are as those are the only three I've seen. I ordered most of my trades off Ebay after the fact or found them in the store.

Eric's is the best bookplate so far imo as well. It is so hard to find Eric's published work so when it is signed as well, double goodness...

Go to: http://paneltopanel.net/shop/ and view the listing to pre-order your copy of the collected FUTURE TENSE w/bookplate!!

I'm waiting to hear back from Peter Laird on whether or not he'll be able to squeeze in a bookplate, for the COLLECTED VOLUME 1, into his busy 25th anniversary schedule. Things are looking good, so keep your fingers crossed; but a little positive fan feedback directed at the good folks at Mirage might help seal the deal.

If it wasn't for the bookplate, I wouldn't be getting this b&w reprint/collection of stories originally produced in color. I'm sure I'm not the only one swayed by the bookplate either. So, Mirage better appreciate you for that. :)

If we order a bunch of books at once, do they all ship together (after the last one is released) or do they ship as they become available?

Panel to Panel

I'd prefer to send them all at once, but I'd be happy to ship products as they're available, or wait until everything is on hand. Please specify when you order.:)

It's official folks! Peter Laird finished inking a bookplate for the COLLECTED BOOK VOLUME 1 today. Word is next he'll be toning it (ala the original TMNT series), and then signing the prints. Dan Berger told me today, “It’ll be killer when it’s completed.”

http://paneltopanel.net/shop/product_info.php?products_id=2633&osCsid=1538d12e4e6a66c6ae3c8c4125615e4e

If you already ordered a copy before the listing included the bookplate info; don't worry, your copy will include a bookplate. And if you ordered a copy of FUTURE TENSE this week, and now you want to order a copy of the COLLECTED; you'll now qualify for free shipping, and I'll adjust the price when I settle your credit card purchases.

I wish I could get this with a bookplate. Does P2P ship to Canada? Theres no discount off of the books price. The CAN $ is at .85 cents to US $ right now. These little things makes it more unlikely I'd try to order from P2P. I'll support my comics store probably. Still kind of thinking about my options.

I was buying from P2P all my past tmnt books but since some time they do not have the cheapest shipping option ( about $13 ) to Turkey. I will buy the Collected Book vol.1 and Future Tense books online as nearly all my comic purchases but as i said before the low shipping ability being not available since some time is a pain in my a**
Tho a few months ago i bought a tmnt issue from them and they provided the 13 dollars option which is i am very greatful.

In fact my question is more related with shipping options. Not price. Now as i look at the P2P site, the shipping price of 2 books are $38.50. I am not saying this is high, i am used paying high shipment prices since i buy nearly all my comics and action figures online from US or UK... but
Standard International Shipping option is no longer used?
so just Priority Mail from now on as the most economic option?
I guess this will be main factor in my decision.
( Even if the old cheaper option was still present, buying the books from my usual online vendor would be chaeper. But i ofc want the book plates and also i really like P2P.
Will be very happy if i get an answer.
I was going to e-mail to the P2P customer service but since you are answering the questions here......

We absolutely ship to Canada. The bookplate books on paneltopanel are not discounted for the very reason that you are getting a very unique item, for free, with the purchase of the book. If you'd like a discount instead of the bookplate, we can do that. Are non-bookplate items on the site are discounted. We are currently, as in today, installing a new shipping software to the site which will more accurately quote international shipping costs. Anyone who has placed an order for an international purchase will notice a change, for the better, to the amount they paid at check out.
And lastly, paneltopanel is your local comics store. The world wide web is everywhere, and we are there with it. Sound cheesy, I know. But it's true. :)

Shipping costs have increased quite a bit these days, but the website has recently been updated with some new software for a more accurate quote. The price for shipping that the site gives is not written in stone. I check them individually and refund any overages back to the customer. Since P2P uses Priority Flat Rate shipping, there is a very large price difference between shipping with an envelope versus a box. The loop hole here is that if you order a FUTURE TENSE and a COLLECTED BOOK 1, I'll be shipping them each separately in a well protected envelope versus one box. Each envelope costs $13.00 to ship, where as a single box will cost $40.00. This will save you $14.00! I do my best to fit what I can into a more economical package, as long as it doesn't risk damaging the books.

They're hand drawn (generally by Peter Laird, altho I have one done by Dan Berger.) and autographed by various Mirage folk.

They're not hand drawn. They are small prints that have been hand signed and are then attached to the inside of the books. Book plates have been created by Peter, Eric, Jim, Dan, Michael Zulli, Chris Allan, and there's one that uses style art from the 2007 movie.

I guess it's possible, but in all honesty, I don't think it'll happen. Besides, having seen it, I guarantee you it's not what most fans seem to be holding out for. As a fan, I'd rather see those 18 issues per year be actual issues.

Considering, the current/future state of Mirage, how will those 18 issues get produced, can Laird go to another publisher and have them produce TMNT comics?
