I have one. The DVD contains the entire Mirage series. Issues 1-62. It's great for anyone having trouble completing their comic collections.

Probably not, but believe me, it is hard to get all the issues. If i didn't have chance to buy all issues, I would have probably gotten that DVD. Of course I prefer the real things tough.

Yes, It's all of Volume 1. Each issue is in it's own folder. The image quality is fantastic, and no it's not official. It was very nicely made.

why doesnt Pwedesai just download those pics to his site, instead of breaking the binding on his comics and scanning? Itd help a lot of us newbies

It is very much illegal.

Peter Laird is aware of it and is VERY upset. I know he is getting lawyers involved to stop the sale of it.

As someone who put A LOT of time, effort, and money into collecting all the TMNT issues, Volume 1 and otherwise, I am 100% behind Peter on this and I am quite upset that someone would use the comics to profit like this.

Well the old issues are not sold by Mirage anymore,[well there are some on official page] But I can understand why people there would be upset.

I don't want to put up ALL the issues, I'm working on a select few. Archie mostly because there is no way you will ever see a reprinted book of ANY of those issues.

I understand why this DVD is so upsetting to both Peter and the fans. I spent a lot on my comic collections too. I bought the DVD out of desperation. I'm missing some of the Mirage issues and I wanted to read the storylines I was missing. It's the only reason why I bought it.

You guys, it seriously isn't that hard to get all the issues if you put some effort into it. Hell yeah it's gonna be expensive if all you use is eBay. That's why you need to actually visit you're local comic book stores - ALL OF THEM. And also visit any shops you see when you're on vacation. I got a large chunk of my Mirage comics from a comic book store in Omaha, of all places.

You need to find out where there might be some Comic Book Shows near you. I am not talking about BIG conventions like those in Chicago or San Diego, but rather very small, local, one room shows. Minneapolis has small shows like this every few months, with a "large" convention in September/October and a small convention in April. It is through these shows that I got the majority of my collection. It is at these shows that I found TMNT books that I bet you've never heard of. And where at these shows did I find most of my comics? In boxes marked 4/$1 .. sometimes 5/$1 .. in other words- I got them very cheaply! You need to be willing to put the time and effort into digging through such boxes - it is not a fun/comfortable thing to do, but the greatest treasures are to be found there. It is at one of these shows that I got the 1st printing of Vol. 1 #2 for $2.50. Two dollars and fifty cents! It was at another one of these shows that I paid $10 for the 2nd printing of Vol. 1 #2. I paid more for printing 2 than I did for printing 1!

There's also the hours and hours I spent at the library researching the comic books and memorizing all the different appearances they made and the suggested worth of each book. The Overstreet guide is your best friend! I never bought a book for more than the Overstreet price (and those prices lean a little high).

I also amassed the majority of my collection before I ever had a job. Meaning I scraped and saved my measly allowance for years to collect these comics. Also for those who will complain about cost, keep in mind that the most expensive books from Vol. 1 are available in collected books, which can be found at very reasonable prices.

Collecting the comics is something I'm very serious about. I have virtually every printing of every comic book that ever featured a Ninja Turtle .. even misprints. Guest appearances, spinoffs, you name it.

And for the people who will continue to argue that there just aren't any TMNT comics where they live, I too once thought the same thing. Until I started looking harder.

Some books you probably will need to get off eBay, or some other online auction service. It was only a handful of months ago that I scored the 1ST printing of Vol. 1 #1 for only $100.

I don't care what reason you give, I cannot support the purchase of this DVD AT ALL. Never, no way.

I can fully understand that. And I too have all Mirage issues now. I would never be staisfied with just scans, thats why I boughthe real things. But IF you are going for nearmint quality, prepare to pay 200$+. All people can't afford that.

Yea I guess I can understand that... but I also have purchased every Mirage issue pretty much (save for a few) the same month they were released. But I have them all in plastic covers and now that we have a kid I keep them in our closet for safekeeping. So if I want to read an issue, I have to go to the closet, open the box, find the issue I want, undo the tape, and carefully read the issue I was looking for. Anyway what I'm getting at is thats a lot of damn work! Having all of Volume 1 on an easy access DVD would be great!
So if anybody finds it on ebay, amazon, or somewhere else PM.

Yeah, I know people who buy two copies of the comic, one to read and one to store. It'd be a lot easy to have that DVD and only by one copy of each one to keep near mint.

I agree that having all the comics on a DVD would be a nice, simple way to read through them all. If you had all the comics on such a DVD, it might even be legal to own it as a "backup copy." But as it is right now, that DVD is being sold FOR PROFIT and to people who most likely do not have all those issues. I'll admit that I wouldn't mind having one, but I sure wouldn't give anyone money for it. Since it'd be virtually impossible to control who had this DVD, I'd rather see it disappear than have it exist, even just for those who do own all the comics.

I don't much care either way... but if yous like me livin in some secluded swamp, it be hard to get every issue yous wants ta' so dis may be a good thing if they'd be a licensin' it officially.
