Ok, so its been a while since I have posted but I am LITERALLY flying out the door right now, I have a ton of prep, flying to LA tomorrow, new blog to put up... and I am playing a show tonight.... ANYWAYS. Before the blog goes up I just wanted to say that we just shot an interview with Steve Barron. It was shot in the UK and I interviewed him over skype, so I hope everyone is as pumped as I am about that!
Will keep posting here as things go on.
Thanks!

Hi everyone!
I have an update on behalf of the TurtleDoc Crew! Today interviews with a majority of the 90's TMNT voice actors were conducted. I was fortunate enough to be there (thanks to Isaac and Kevin)! To read my blog all about it (and see plenty of pictures), please visit this link! http://gogreenmachine.wordpress.com/2009/03/16/turtledoc-update-tmnt-cast-interviews/
Thanks!

It was truly an honor to be part of/organize that. It could not have turned out better. We intended on bringing each person in for their own interviews, but what ended up happening is everyone came in one after the other and we had a great group interview as well as individual interviews with each. And then Kevin stopped by, and it was wonderful!
I tend to disconnect with the reality of the situation as I am in "work mode" all the time on set. It was not until Barry pulled me aside and told me he and the rest of the cast felt that it meant so much to them that I put this together for them, they had not seen each other like this for almost 20 years. It was at this point I almost cried. It shocked me to have a childhood icon who meant so much to me, tell me I meant something to him. Truly an honor and we love each of them, they are amazing people!
I am off to Kevin's today, lots more to shoot! Hope to see you soon!

As our trip here in LA comes near to a close I am posting an update and a shout out to those who made this trip possible! There will be a very fully detailed blog post with some funny stories over on the TurtleDoc in the coming days.
First I have to say how much Kevin has done for us. Some details I can't specify, but this dude has almost literally given us the shirt off his back, an amazing honour! And a great friend! Thank you Kevin!
Everyone we have met on our tour was a great honour to meet, from the voice cast, to Sisti who was Mikey, Brian Henson, and fans alike. Everyone has been great! Brian and the guys over at Henson's were amazing and had some great insight from the old school technical world.
It was also an honour to meet some great fans like Chris and his lovely lady Tiff, Rose, and Stephan.
Thanks all! We are on to the next leg of our journey back down to the East Coast.
Isaac.

Our official blog post on the trip with photos behind the scenes with all the interviews SHOULD be up tomorrow or the next day. I am waiting to get it back from my editor and producer. I will post with that update.

This is only the LA section of interviews.
Now off on stage 3 in the next couple weeks back to the East Coast with more great interviews on the list.

First off - as a fellow filmmaker and turtle fan let me just say that I'm so insanely jealous of what you're doing! BUT, at the same time I want to give much respect - I know how hard it can be to get a project like this in motion and I can see thru your various developments and updates that this is truly a labor of love! I actually considered doing a turtle doc for my senior thesis last year (went to school near Northampton), but ultimately decided I didn't have the time to commit to something that demanded perfection from my fanboy soul. Good luck with the road ahead - sounds like you're cruising along, and I hope to see a stellar finished product some day!

Let me ask you Isaac. Quick question. Do you plan on following the TMNT25 road tour map as well, you track TMNT fans in those cities? Like will you be in Chicago end of May or St. Louis in Beginning of June. I don't mean to put pressure on schedule outline at all. Just speaking for others who may want to do this as well. I cant wait to read the blog!

I can't say right now, where things are at. We truly want to take part in that whole thing, however it is not likely. At this point we hope to include at least a stop or two, but it may not be practical. Sorry.
The blog I am told is going up in large installments, and I hope with some great pictures.

How many events are you doing in the NY Area? I plan to make the Mirage event held in April, wherever it is. Hopefully it's something special.
My Pro-Sumer microphone arrived as well :). Although I still need to find a Stereo XLR 1/8' cable for it. Audio only goes to the left channel with the current radio shack cable.

We are not sure yet, we shall see what events we can make it to, but this documentary is the History of the TMNT in all its different forms so events don't always fit for time, but they are nice so we will try!
There are great XLR adaptors made by Beach Tech that you can mount on the bottom of your camera that convert your channels and give you two XLR inputs into an 1/8" input on your camera.

I was thinking of something like this, but it doesn't tell you if it's an XLR Stereo to 1/8' stereo adapter.
I did a search on amazon for what you posted about, and I don't think it's coming up with the right thing. It looks more like an RCA Y Adapter, only with two XLR ports instead..
I want the best sounding audio possible if any rare TMNT celebs will be at this event. :).
Thanks :)
BTW, how did you arrange all those Voice Actors together in one spot? It took Raph's Girl a bit of work to help me find Renae Jacob, and she's a google expert :). Thanks RG :)

Which Marvel writers are you talking to Isaac? Dan Slott would make for a great interview, and I'm sure Peter David has interesting things to say. I've also just heard that Dario Brizuela and Andres Ponce are both attending San Diego, as well as Andie Tong, Ross May, Jake Black, myself and the rest of the Mirage crew. Gary Richardson should also be in attendance.

Yes, unfortunately Cam did come later in the evening.
Did you ever find any hardcore comic fans to spotlight, or are we still looking at pretty much a cartoon/movie tribute here with only minor nods to the Mirage source material?
They spent considerable time in the major Los Angeles area comic shops interviewing folks, and found a number of comic fans amoung the staff and patrons. As far as covering the "face" hardcore comic fans, both Rose and Spitfire were interviewed I believe. They also shot extensive interviews with Peter and Kevin, as well as a majority of the Mirage staff. So they have plenty of comic focused material.

hahaha just kidding bro! I am not on the road yet... tons of crazy re-scheduling, quite frankly I am not even sure if people who are expecting us know if and when we are coming!!! My life is crazy, so yes I am glad that Stephan handled those questions for me!
In response to the comic content question. I would have to say if anything we are focusing on the TMNT roots more than other stuff because in reality it is the one thing that we have not had clearance issues with yet!! Still we intend on having a well rounded documentary covering as many bases as we possibly can. I don't want to instigate a hate fest from people not liking the doc hahahaha! Just FYI, here's some information from Dan at Mirage regarding April 24th
- Lighting Ceremony on ESB is set to be a private press only thing. Probably no more than a short drop speech and 3 minutes of time. Party Bus WILL be outside the ESB.
- The Record Breakin attempt will take place before the movie starts, anywhere from 5PM-8PM. Masks will be handed out as you go in. Some kind of stage will be there to announce anything ground breaking.
- Movie celebrities have been invited, but so far no on has confirmed as of yet.
If I can arrange transportation, I will be there to film the festivities.

Day 5 from the road on this journey.
I am currently sitting here in a wonderful house provided by a wonderful person and fan here in Northampton MA. Not only is this guy a good friend and helping us out he also has hands down THE and I would have to say THE largest, most complete, and best displayed/kept collections in the entire world. Although it is careful timeing that this collection is publicly displayed now so I wont say anymore about that.
Back to the part about me sitting here.... its 4:58AM on Monday morning and I am a little cold. You'd think me being Canadian and all I might be a prepared individual and have something like a winter jacket.... well I didn't bring one.
I am waiting for my producer and his wife to get redy to hit the road. We have a 9 somthing meeting on Long Island with the one and only Mark Freedman, who more or less single handedly created the franchise we know as the Turtles.
Well off to climb into the freezing car for a couple of hours.... peace!
