Okay since Vol2 ended with the turtles seperated and Vol 4 opens with the turtles together so is Vol 4 a continuation of Vol1 and not VOl2?

Volume 2 is included in the continuity. Infact in the Volume 4, April's ailment is because of what happened to her in Volume 2.

Laird has said that "a lot has happened since Volume 2". He hopes to tell those stories in Tales of the TMNT Volume 2, which he says they will be releasing soon.
