Unfortunately you're right Jest. Once I get it in my hands and see the actual extent of the damage, I may contact these peeps http://www.tomspinadesigns.com/Restoration.html about restoring him.

Totally random tidbit: I shorten your name to Archon, but AT would work just as well...and since AT is a upper case at, I think I'm gonna take to just calling you "@". Congratulations @, you are now a symbol, as is Prince. :P

Kudos, Archon! That's a heck of a find.

Although.... it looks like the drowned squirrels I found in the bucket the other day... :blanksta: It's not the prettiest thing, but a great artifact.

You mean that you drown in your squirrel drowning bucket? SQUIRREL DROWNER!

Awwww, Cipher just found out there is no santa claus :-PSo all this time I've gone around praising the movie's super-humanly talented animal trainers...?

If you hear something shatter, it's just my dream of one day meeting "the rat who played Splinter." Don't mind me...

I always imagined us sharing tea and discussing his career. And I would squeel with delight to see his fuzzy, theatrically trained rat body holding a comically oversized cup. And oh, I would take pictures and marvel at his hauntingly human abilities........and when we were done dancing........missing link.......cupcakes........wh-......discuss socio-economic policy.........elepha-........plan......

What a great find!

Man, time has taken it's toll, but that aside, awesome find Archon.

You can assume it's Spliner after living in the sewers for years.

Well, it is supposed to represent a rat who's been living in the sewers for a while, so it wouldn't look as if it had come from a pet shop. :P

Yoshi brought Splinter from Japan...he wasn't a sewer rat until Yoshi died. I'm sure Teng Shin nagged Yoshi to keep the rat clean....:P

HE'S HERE! New Pictures!

Fair warning. These images are kind of disturbing because he isnt in the best of shape, but looks...pretty lifelike:

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v247/JNCOPosterboy/The%20Collection/Pre%20Mutation%20Splinter%20Puppet/

Obvious damage:

1. He definitely could use a good grooming. The fur is very matted. He litterally looks like hes been drown.

2. Missing paint on just about everything that was painted. Most of the skintone paint is gone. The tail, nose, eyelids, ears, hands, and feet all need to be repainted (provided I decide to get him restored).

3. He's flat. It is quite obvious that our little friend has been laying on his back for quite some time. He probably aught to be stuffed to compensate for all the missing control wires.

4. His nose is coming off. Just some glue would probably fix this.

5. His left ear is coming off. Again, just a little glue work.

6. His left eyelid is crushed in. This would probably need to be resculpted.

Thats all that's really wrong with him. The interesting part about him is that his body was made from wrapping the fur. He is basically a big furry fruit roll-up

The face looks kinda scary...I think you should get him restored, then it would look awesome and not creepy

Sweet find!

I wonder if its just a puppet? Or are there any mechincal devices inside of it?

there will be so many ways of scaring the crap out of people with that puppet

Most of the original control mechs have been removed from the puppet (which is why he is so flat), but if you look in his mouth you can still see a few of the control wires. They dont show well in those pictures though. They are steel cables thinner than a piece of yarn, much like the cables they use for bicycle brakes.

Thats what I thought, still pretty cool. Now I would love to get my hands on the baby mutated turtles, those guys looked kick ass.
