No, this isn't the "Listen to me, I'm different because I don't like something about the show you all love, so I must be better than you" rant. I still love the show, and it is my favorite show on TV right now, and the only reason I wake up early on Saturdays.
But I have one tiny, itsy bitsy thing that bugs me. And that is the Turtle Van. Nothing against its design (It's a great set of wheels). It's just that, in the first episodes, the turtles looked sweet jumping from rooftop to rooftop in the night sky, with the moon bright behind them, that that's what I always loved about the comics. As a kid, I always looked up to rooftops and imagined them watching over the city. but since Don made them the van, they got lazy and drive everywhere.
Again, nothing that in anyway will ever come close to keeping me from the bliss that is this show, but I want to see the turtles jumping through the night.

Don't fear, I'm sure we'll see more of it. After all, you can't drive everywhere!

True that, but the Turtle Van does give them the advantage of cruising the streets without being seen.

True, except that the Eastman and Laird cops saw them inside the armored truck when they returned the monay :)

Yes they did but they also said they were in green suits so they didn't know who they were......

That having been said. I love today's episode. Especially the personification of the kid in that robot. Kind of eerie, and definitely darker than I expected when watching the promos for it.

Yea, speaking of the promos - the editors for the promos certainly have their talents!! They simply rearranges clips and lines on the next ep. to form something totally different that what the plot will be.
Like in "Meet Casey Jones", I thought Casey kidnapped Raph or something and that's why Leo goes "What have you done with our brother?"...and in Nano, somehow I thought Mikey messed up driving the van and ended up going in circles around the monster instead of ramming it full speed (yea...I realize it's the bike going around in circles later on)

The promo for "Mett Casey Jones" also made me believe that Casey had Kidnapped Raph.....

When I saw episode one I didn't realize those 2 cops were Eastman and Laird in Cartoon verison. The ones we all know aren't even together today. And We'll probably learn more about those two cops later.

I thought so to. but when they show Leo saying to Raph in front of him. I said to myself " O.K. so Leo didn't say it to Casey at all".
Wow, so I'm not the only one who thought Raphael had been captured in "Meet Casey Jones". Of course, I never thought Casey had captured him, I simply got this one confused with a future episode I'd read a spoiler for and I never thought to double check.

That is kinda funny how they do that. Kinda reminds me of things they've done with previews of The Simpsons.

Yeah I though Casey was going to kidnap Raph too.
I like the Battle Shell a lot. The TMNT need a means of quick transportation, not to mention a mobile attack vehicle. I'm sure we'll also see the TMNT travel by rooftop in the future. I also like the Shell Cycle. A motorcycle is a good fit for Raphael, as is Casey's bike for that matter. I think the Sewer Sled is a little pointless though. But I suppose it's good for rapid subterrainian travel.

When ya think about it though, he could've just left Raph knocked out somewhere and left him there and the others would've gone to look for him. Then Casey would see Leo and say "Come back for more ya friggin' weirdo?!"

Yeah I think that the vehicles fit the show pretty good. But I think the Elevator in episode 4 was a bit odd...

It would've made better sense if it was just a normal elevator shaft that got buried long ago, but I guess they wanted to forshadow the Utroms or something.

Yeah, it seemed Utrom build to me too. Why it was in that place, I can't figure out.

the cgi for the truck sucks tho. That's my biggest complaint, that and the red sewer water :P

I love the amination for the Battle Shell. It gives some realism to the surroundings.

actually it's teh worse cgi i've ever seen. It you think that is realistic...
Go look at a scene with teh battle shell

If you look around at the new lair, it's very obvious that this isn't some random sewer juncture. I mean, there are rooms, and the doorways are the same shape as the elevator door. It's possible it was an old Utrom (or possibly not Utrom) base, before they created TCRI. Mike also said he found a bunch of those crystals around the lair, so both things are linked.

Yeah that would make sense. It might be explained in the future.

Hmm... If the new lair once belonged to the Utroms (or some other beings), it makes me wonder where they are now... And if they're coming back.

Utroms probably live in TCRI building...

I like the Battle Shell, now that it's not all green and yellow with TMNT scrawled all over it. That was one thing I hated about the Trutle Van (and the Turtle Blimp) from the old cartoon. I mean, they are supposed to *hide* !
But the guys just used the truck for just two eps when they needed it. I'm sure they'll be hoofing it again for the Shredder ep next week.
And.. yeah, I was wondering what more will come of their new lair and the possible entrance of Utroms...

I always thought that was a cute idea, especially that beak-bumper that made the front of the van look like their faces.

Well it was a diffrent kind of show, the TMNT didn't have to hide in it. I think the looks of those vehicles fit the style of the show.

I think Mr. Thompson was the only non-villainous character in the old show who truly hated the turtles. Everyone else loved em, even Vernon :twink:

Well that chenged in the red sky seasons. It is obivous that they tried to take the TMNT more to their roots. I think season 8 and 10 worked very well, 9 was a disapointment.
Jephael
03-10-2003, 02:38 PM
Yeah, but even before that Burne was always being an @$$hole, and I just wanted to see one of the turtles jam something up the guy's how-do-ya-do

The general public was mixed about them. They weren't condemned as bad guys (until red sky) but they weren't exactly being hailed as heroes either. Some people thought they were bad, others good.

Well Burn wasn't that hostile in the earlier seasons, eafter the TMNT saved him for couple of times, he seemed thankfull. To me atleast.

I don't think the Utroms built the elevator. I think aliens from another planet did. Eh? What's that? The Utroms are aliens?
Ah well, I still don't think they built it. But aliens did!
I'm prolly wrong, and it will turn out that it's from the Utroms after all, but as of now, there's nothing to prove me worng. So I'll just keep thinking like that. :)
