I don't remember watching season 7 when I was a kid.
Is it the fact that lions gate changed things or did they really screw up with the end credits? The voice actors aren't even on there???
Also why the old school early season opening? I thought they changed that?
Sorry, I'm a little behind on the season 7 news and changes.

they used the old school early season opening because some of those episodes i believe are out of order and the new season opening is on the last two discs of Season 7. i believe that's the case. if not, someone will correct me

Well my point is by like season 4 or 5 they changed the opening to that one that starts by flying through the sewer. Why go back to first Season opening? And the end credits look like crap! Not to mention the first few episodes animation look like crap!

They had been like that when they aired on the USA network here back in the late 90's.
If you remember these episodes are to take place back in the day when they won the free trip at the end of the episode.
They used to air some episodes on fox kids in teh afternoon who still used the old intro as well as cbs who had the new intro made just for the cbs episodes when they won the free trip at the end of the episode.
So I'm guessing that's why the old intro and the ending is exactly the same as it was when it aired on tv here I have a few of these on tape so I know.
Only the CBS eps have CBS intros, sir. :) Those are on Season 7 - Part 3 & 4.

Yeah these vacation episodes really aren't part of season 7 if you ask me.

I never quite figured out who did what animation on TMNT. Did MWS do the animatics and send them on to another company? I only have some information on this, but I believe IDDH animated the European episodes. The other show they did was Prince Valiant. IDDH wasn't around very long.

They're not. They didn't air on CBS or in the original syndication block. They aired on USA.

I'm pretty sure I said that above.:P

You did; I was just adding the information about USA since some didn't know where the episodes came from originally. A lot of people didn't have cable back then and would never have been able to see the European episodes.

I do believe the European episodes were actually made back in 1989-90. They just didn't air in the United States until 1993 on USA. When USA first aired them, they advertised them as "lost episodes", which means they were already made, just never aired in this country. I think they aired in Canada around 1990-91.

The episodes that had the split screen credits, were those the "lost" European episodes?
My friend did the neat split screen trick for me once, when I looking for a certain lost 2K3 episode I missed recording on tv. He surprised me with that, with a program he added the theme song pictures without the theme playing on one side with the credits playing on the other.
I noticed Season 7 episodes were not neatly polished like the ones a few seasons back. Not that this is a problem I just turn my tv volume higher.
The extras were neat, a little short but fine, the hard-core fans was a bit longer, and congrats to whom got interviewed.

No, sir. They aired on USA Networks in November 1992. I have the journal entries to support that, and the US Library of Congress agrees with me. I don't remember them advertising these eps as being 'lost', but it was sheer, dumb luck that I turned the TV to that channel back during their premiere/marathon. I always wondered how Molly Bode (creator of the official site's classic series ep guide) got it into her head that these weren't seen until '93...
Personally, I expect these were of the story arc for the proposed syndicated Season 4 which the cast and crew just hadn't completed because doing CBS's eps was more demanding than they expected. So, they just collected dust, possibly as animatics (missing Rob Paulsen's voice-over as well as a lot of James Avery's), until they could use them as a purchase incentive while trying to sell the Group W eps to USA.

just a little random, but my favorite opening credits i guess woud be Seasons 8, 9, and 10, where elements from the live-action movies are incorporated into the intro.
otherwise known as TMNT Intro 3 on the main Drome site
