Hey there. PlastronCafe lured me over with promises of cookies. She's the Mike to my Raph in some places, but some of our fandom commonality ends there.
I grew up on the TMNT; I was watching the cartoon in '88, later collecting the Archie Comics and starting my life-long love affair with the paper media. I began collecting the Mirage comics later in life, and from then on, there was really no other version that could compare for me for my four brothers. Didn't stop me from collecting toys, paraphenlia and other goodies -- but all of those were passed on to a younger fan in the family (one of my 'nephews'; my best friend's three boys)... and then mourned as they were passed over for Star Wars!
I love comics. I remember the old cartoon with fondness for it's corniness. The movies are sitting on my DVD shelf. The comics -- well, some of them -- are sitting in my closet behind me. I haven't watched the new 2k3 cartoon, but I keep meaning to do so. I've seen the first episode, and it looked really awesome...
So here I am. Shameless fangirl, has been so since I was 9 years old, and am now thirty-one. I'm pretty sure you can do the math there.
