I have to confess I've never seen this before. I saw the tape at a video rental store years ago, but something about it made me put the tape down to grab something else. Man, I have a damn good intuition. I can't believe how bad this was. I never watch the TMNT for their musical skills anyway.

I just watched this and I laughed. All of the stuff they said was true, like why does Mikey look like Raph? Why are they still playing when the credits are already shown?. It makes you wonder if they knew about Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation.

People actually think those guys are funny? That was the worst crap I have ever seen... probably worse than what they were "reviewing". I showed it to people who don't even like the turtles and they hated those guys. I am sorry, they are not funny and need to learn how to insult people without sounding like morons. I think I wasted my time watching that one...

Humor is all a matter of opinion. Some people prefer high brow humor while others prefer immature humor. There's so many different forms of humor, my favorite being dark humor and satire. You can watch American Psycho and think it's hilarious or think it's sick.

As far as the internet is concerned the majority of people who surf it and view videos are younger so immature humor is more widely used. Saying someone isn't funny just means they don't make you laugh. They can still be amazing at what they do even if you find what they do to be horrible.

Reno 911! is a great example. I've never seen a middle ground with that show. People either out right despise it or they love it. Personally I think it's hilarious and I see the humor in what they are doing. Some see it as the characters acting like morons and I've actually had someone tell me that's the reason they disliked the series, which is the entire point of the series.

I've watched a fair share of the video game nerd videos. I think the guy has his moments. I think it's interesting after trying for so long he actually got to make videos a mass audience was watching. That's what anyone in a film/video medium strives for so he's succeeded in his own way, which I envy him for. Even if most his jokes revolved around dicks, farts, and sh1tting.

These guys are very popular online and theyre found funny because theyre so over the top and what they say is very true. They remove the nostalgia goggles we all wear and look at things objectivly. So you ended up shaking your head and going "omg its so true!"

I've never seen the behind the scenes thing...just a video of one of the concerts themselves that members of the Fan Club got (I had some friends who were members and we'd have sleepovers just watching eps that hadn't aired in Germany yet *lol*). I rather liked the songs. Best part is when Shredder, in his quest to destroy all music, tests out his music destroying machine by destroying a NKOTB album and turning it into confetti. :lol:

Believe it or not but COOTS is a Platinum Award winning album....seriously... Their Christmas thing...well I've only ever heard the songs from it but Michelangelo singing Opera music is just wrong.... The follow up album to COOTS, Getting Down In Your Town, is ok from the couple songs I've heard from it. Casey Jones toured with them instead of April for that one I believe. And then they did their stint at Disneyworld...where they had a musical show....

it is so freaking insulting to the fans-even the little guys, msot of those kids in the clips looked bored!! Do they think 5 year olds are THAT stupid? I'm embarrassed to LOOK at those costumes...my eyes were burning watching the clips in the review.
I'd like to throw the cruciatus curse on whoever came up with the brilliant idea of a crappy ass music show for TMNT...:x make em suffer!:evilgrin:

Ok I agree my reaction to that video was a little un-called for. And I also agree with Spitfire that the humor in it is up to the viewer.

The thing is, one can make the same argument about COOTS. If you look at it in context its not that bad. I'm not talking about the "making of" which is ridiculous and COOTS is also very funny, especially if you have a couple drinks.

The point is, that album and show were very successful. You can say all you want about the costumes and I would agree, however they were made for a stage performance, not for on camera closeups. Also consider looking at it from the time it went down. I was told by the person who directed and came up with the show that this was more or less the first of its kind. A traveling stage production with massive costumes and sets. And it did amazingly all over the world. The underlying message of the show was pretty positive and I think that goes for all the TMNT stuff we love..

The bottom line is! It is pretty funny if we watch it now. I don't think that anyone deserves to burn in hell for it. And I can't say that strange vulgar internet show was really all that well thought out (and their production value sucked, I know they could have done better). I swear more than most people, but they just seamed awkward when they did it.

I just got around to watching this. The green screening is so half ass'd, and that font is a standard Premiere preset that comes with it's type program. Sound editing was very bad too. The quality was seriously lacking in this video. Pretty lazy if you ask me.

I think you miss the point of these videos. They're not really there to express any kind of meaningful opinions. They're just there to poke fun at it in the most over the top fashion. They're not here as regular reviewers like Roger Ebert or anything, the "review" is just a disguise. James himself even made it very clear that everything was done for fun in his video game reviews, and this is in the same style. They're just poking fun at it for our entertainment.

Put it this way, I managed to track a cheap copy of a DVD with both (Turtle Tubes & Christmas) on it from ebay.

I was almost driven crazy in the Turtle Tunes one...but I haven't sat through Christmas yet as I've seen a large amount on YT; I'm still recovering from TT! ;) COOTS I can sit through and laugh at without going crazy...so I think for me, the two mentioned are worse...


Also, I dance with surfing alligators all the time! How is that random? :lol:
