I can't seem to find a thread just for TMNT tattoos, so if you have them, post em.

Since here in the UK we don't really have much of a TMNT25th celebration going on I did my part and got tattooed (although i've had the design for a very long time).

The colour was done in a seperate session but everyone I met could tell which turtle was which just by the facial expressions. Even my 50 year old mother could name them in order.

I want to get a TMNT tatto too. I have a couple ideas though. I want to get all four turtles around my leg. Raph on the front, leo outside, mike back, and don inside. The problem I'm having is which style.

Yeah thats the problem I had, I went through every style of turtles, from the more aggressive to the cutesy.

I had to find four seperate pictures, or a group picture. It was a nightmare.

Ended up going for one that I had printed off many years before.

I got this one in July through August. It took 5 sessions but was well worth it. It was a coverup. I had a previous armband. I used a very familiar comic scene and than I had my tattoo artist free hand the sewer which really came out perfect. I will go back and get it touched up after my skin comes back :) and I might go further down the arm, but this will do for now. I hope you all enjoy it.

Thanks for all the compliments, it's nice to have people understand where I'm coming from and not think it's stupid to have tmnt on ur body. I've always liked the red bandanas and couldn't see coloring them and I chose the mousers bcuz for one, they could fit in the space and cause they were always a fav. I had plans to incorporate other characters, but space was very limited.

I have been playing with the idea of how to do a tribute to the guys. I know I want to get an x-men symbol on me somewhere (proboly my left shoulder) and maybe an arrangement of the 4 weapons around it. TMNT and the x-men were big influences on my life and the decision to try to be a pro artist.

NM means Next Mutation style ninja turtles, the turtles from the live action series of 97/98 that was only popular with kids during its prime, then was dropped after only one season and is now very unpopular with the general tmnt fan community heheh my avatar is a NM style Don...

A tatoo's supposed to have a personal meaning so peoples who make it cuz they know it'll look cool are just sheeps Imo. print it on a shirt if you're no sure, that's cheaper lol.
I don't want to be mean on Fans but I've seen much failed tmnt tatoos all over the web , you have to find a great (and I mean Great) tatoo artist first.
think about your design a long time before , cause when the ink mix your blood, it's over.
also projecting yourself in the mirror with the turtle tatoo you want n' Imagine how it'll look in the future, Is not a bad option.

A tmnt tatoo doesn't look cool for somebody wu is not a fan. Except for you, that can marks you permanently as a "nerd" or "geek" or whatever you wanna call it ( think about supermans fans who tatoo the "S" or whatever licenses) and I mean no offenses because I love tmnt. I love Ink, have 3 and want a turtle too, one day.
so honestly, don't think a tmnt tatoo's that cool for the "real world" except for us around here . peoples, Girls..will think it's childish, not Badass.

think about your design a long time before , cause when the ink mix your blood, it's over.

A tmnt tatoo doesn't look cool for somebody wu is not a fan. Except for you, that can marks you permanently as a "nerd" or "geek" or whatever you wanna call it ( think about supermans fans who tatoo the "S" or whatever licenses) and I mean no offenses because I love tmnt. I love Ink, have 3 and want a turtle too, one day.
so honestly, don't think a tmnt tatoo's that cool for the "real world" except for us around here . peoples, Girls..will think it's childish, not Badass.

Well, finally got it finished today.
Still sore as you can tell from the picture below (all the turtles look hungover with bloodshot eyes).

Since here in the UK we don't really have much of a TMNT25th celebration going on I did my part and got tattooed (although i've had the design for over a year or more).

Next week i'm getting Shredder done on the other arm. (i've a good arm and a bad one in the works).

Yeah, i've got 80's Shredder on my other arm. Infact, If your the person I think you are, its the exact same one. Think we both had it done in the same month.

That turtles tattoo took about 3 sessions, Lines, the colour and then I had to have a touch-up on some of the green. So less than 3 hours.

New work! and this one is pretty special to me.

As some of you know, I've been doing General Manager duties over at the 35 days of Kevin Eastman gallery at Meltdown comics.

Well, 2 nights ago was our last night, and we happened to have tattoo artists on hand. So Kevin and I get an idea to have him sketch on me, and then have it inked directly into my skin. We chose Splinter and Shredder on my leg.

Took him about 10 minutes to draw it, and about 3 hours for Bok to ink it.

Tattoo is done by Bok of Kayden Creations in Los Angeles.

I couldn't be happier with the result!

This is phenomenal! So much awesome work, I was always on the fence about getting a tattoo much less a turtles one but Thats partly due because I have never seen any good work done...until now! I would love to get me some mirage style turtles cascading down my arm with some background scenes all broken up by like comic panels...think it would be pretty sweet, and definitely expensive but perhaps in time! My dilemma . . . I am not going to fit all 4 on the top part of my arm. Obviously I am going for the IDW #1 Eastman cover. I wasn't planning the whole cover, so the placement would put Raph in my arm pit. That's just not gonna happen. And I really don't want one on my back. So I think Raph is gonna have to go on my forearm. I really like the Raphael from IDW 21 Eastman (Dynamic Forces variant)

Raph will be coming soon along with more background buildings/clouds, etc... I just don't know where to put him.

Leo was my first tattoo ever. I wasn't sure I would get more tattoos, and I had no idea it would turn into a full blown half sleeve. Had I known, I would have done a different design. As it is, I went with half of the IDW TMNT #1 Eastman cover. But that Donatello isn't all that great, and the Raph on there definitely doesn't work. So I decided to keep it all Eastman current IDW era turtles. The Donatello I chose is Secret History of the Foot Clan #3 CVR RE.

Now, depending on where I place Raph will decide what design I go with. I have 3 options: 1. inside arm 2. back shoulder 3. forarm.

I am leaning towards forarm. I want to wear this loud and proud. 2 of my friends say inside arm, which will hurt bigtime. My back shoulder, I don't know. To me it will not feel right being there.

Nice tattoos but I would have switched the order around. Leo and Raph should be switched. Just my opinion because I think leo looked more angry and we all know raph is a hot head.

I'm finally getting ready to take the plunge and get my first tattoo! :D

I've decided on Nick Splinter's mon from his kimono, it subtly encompasses my love of tmnt and a blossom which is perfect. Only problem is I'm having trouble sourcing a clear, sharp pic of it head on. I've had a go at drawing it but I'm not very good at technical stuff :ohwell: does anyone have a clear shot of it straight on?

Thanks. I went with his helmet from the first movie cause it's always been my favorite, and went with the flowers and geometric design behind just to make it a little more artsy. This is also my Foot Clan emblem I have on my wrist.
