There's not really much left for me to get except maybe a few variants. I have all the various characters and everything is mint and complete. I don't want to over do it and have to much lame stuff over shadowing the great pieces. thanks for the comment though I appreciate it.

My goal was to get every unique character. I know I'm nowhere close to having every actual figure, I'm not interested in all the different costumes and versions of guys, although I know that some of the later turtle incarnations are pretty valuable they're just not for me. I don't consider shogan shaote to be part of the basic assortment of figures which is why I don't have him either. I still need about ten more versions of Ray Fillet, Light skin Tokka, White face panda kahn, slash with purple belt and yellow s, and probably a few more that I forgot or don't know about. I'm also interested in getting Warrior chrome dome, I just purchased warrior metal head. And because Bebop and Rock are my favorite I might get the robotic versions of them and alternately warrior Rocksteady. The 1992 Target exclusive 4 pack is in my future too.

Man it would be a sight to see someone have every single figure and every variant of each of them.

I've had every figure (though not every manufacturing variant, I don't even know if that would be possible ;-P) and vehicle for quite some time. The items I am missing are 3 of the rpactice pals (which are basically pillows) and 1 of the movie III role playing costume sets.

Oh, I have a special request! I heard that some of the early TMNT figures came with a special stand up display backgrounds in addition (or replacement of?) the TMNT Joke Books. It looks like you have some of those pictured with these figures. I've really never seen any good pics of them or even a comprehensive list of which ones existed. Do you think you could oblige me with some specific shots of these stand up displays as well as any information you might know about how many existed? Thanks! And great collection!

Sorry my flash sucks.
they are a two piece display. the floor and back wall are one piece. the floor says the figure's name and a brief description of the scene taking place. the second piece is a cardboard cut out of a character that fits into the display by little tabs. The cardboard stock used is very lightweight, I would say about the same as a cereal box.

I really appreciate it, man! If you have time, could you transcribe or sum up what the text on those pop ups say?

the front says. this character (the one the display is for) is about to meet in battle this character (the cardboard character) in this setting (the background) And as always Playmates lays it on thick with several adjectives in a row.

The back is a complete checklist of figures and vehicles from 1988 and 1989. There are some figures from 1990 listed as coming soon.

I was just doing some research on these to make sure my list of figures released with pop up displays was accurate, Lee's Toy Review's list is the same as mine. Another site I found listed shredder as coming with a display and the foot soldier never being released this way, having never seen any myself I can't be sure. I've only ever seen the three I have, a MOC General traag, and MOC Leonardo. I do browse Ebay frequently so that says how rare they are.

I got cancer and need money so I'm selling the collection. The catch is I'm selling all or nothing. I took alot of time and money getting all of this together and I'd like to see it all go to somebody. I've gotten a few new pieces since the last time I posted, but the cancer thing came up so now I'm screwed. Accepting reasonable offers for everything in one shot.:(

I decided to try and swing the bills without selling my precious turtles. I got the cancer removed, no kemo required, but I went back the other day and found out I have it in a few other spots. I'll live, but I'm gonna have a **** stack of scars. One good thing is atleast it's not on my face.

I am currently undergoing treatments hence the medical bills. The Docs say I have a pretty good chance of recovery and living a full life. You know how they always ask you a bunch of questions like do you smoke and this and that. Well I do smoke and I told him honestly that I smoked maybe ten cigs a day. then he asked if I did drugs and I had to be honest so I laid it out there that I smoke weed daily. He said to quit smoking tobacco, but go ahead and keep smoking weed until I'm 50. Best news I ever got. BTW I don't have lung cancer, they scanned normal luckily. I have Melanoma a type of skin cancer that has the tendency to spread to your lymphnodes and blood and then onto other organs. I got some of the **** cut off, but I have to go back for more surgeries and skin grafts and a few more tests to see if it's in any other areas.

It would be nice if they sold for a few grand so I could pay for this stuff. A word of advice to all "SAVE" don't blow all of your money on collecting toys and videogames so that when you really need the cash your broke. GAY

I can honestly say "I know how you feel!" I had my own medical issues when I was younger. And they resurfaced recently. But trying to keep a positive outlook really does help. If there is anything I can do to help, I'd be glad to do so.

I've replaced all of my loose figures with MOC ones. I also ended up getting alot of the lame alternate versions of the turtles, but I guess some of them are cool (toon, Movie star). The only loose figs I have are ones that I do not have carded, variants of carded ones, or cast members on Channel Six News. I didn't do a full count, but I have somewhere between 275-325 Figures now and the entire room has become TMNT (aside from my PA and guitars)

And the crazy thing is it hasn't even been a year yet since this all started. (and I'm not rich either just a normal middle class guy) mediocre, ha. I thought I was kind of cool before this, I guess not.:twink: I don't think I would have gotten so hardcore about it if not for this forum. There's alot of great collections on here, including yours, to look up to. Archon's collection def blew me away and made me realize I had to up my game.

I'm definately on the hunt for vehicles, but those are a whole new ball game.

Your best bet is just to drop some coin on a large vehicles lot on the bay and start there. Most of the time you'll get complete vehicles and can then search for parts one at a time if need be...

Lots are a mixed bag (PUN!) - it's more fun to buy lots and then put everything together, but over time you wind up with a lot of extra stuff.

Thanks for the tips guys. That's pretty much what I did with the collection for the first year (buy lots) then that one purchase negated all the time spent completing figures, but it was fun being on the prowel, completing things, and finding those little treasures in lots.

bro ur tmnt toy original series collection is pretty much completed. Only the 94~95 stuff now, 97 if u want next mutation.

You really should try to track down winged don/leo though,those are two of the coolest tmnt toys out there. (BTW dont pay over 50$ each, they only worth that much)

And 1997 Dino turtle series are nice to have too.

My wife wanted to use my Turtle room for another purpose so I had to move my collection to another room. the following are pictures of how it turned out. It's slightly bigger and I like that there is enough room to hang all the MOC figures instead having to put some on shelves.

So my wife is really into mini Japanese stuff and we go to this little kawaii gift shop. They have these things called Mongers which I thought were pretty amusing so I picked one up the last few times we went there. I made a shelf for them out of old cig packs. I also did a few close ups of the minimates. The picture of Bebop was just to show how well to scale the Re Ment food they have at the gift shop is to TMNT.

The above photos represent the extent of my collection circa July 2010. Due to some selling and slimming down I will be posting uodated photos of my existing collection as it stands now. I removed many of the photos that were posted previously in this thread due to excessive bandwidth usage on photobucket.

I've decided to return to my original intended collection of just owning each unique character, not all of the different versions of Turtles and no longer interested in variants (packaging or otherwise). But now I am only interested in owning MOC figures, no more loose stuff for me.

The photos I will post represent what I intend to keep forever. I still have a room full of items that I will be selling on ebay 'til they are gone, but I don't consider them part of the collection anymore. Check back within the coming weeks for the new slimmer collection set up.

I'm glad no one wanted to buy my Toon or Movie Star set, they are pretty awesome and I really wanted to keep them. This is my collection that I intend to keep now and forever, no more no less. I've had my fun collecting and I held on to the things that were important to me or had great sentimental value. Below you'll find a desription of the contents of my collection and some photos. Thanks bro. Yes I'm completely content with the collection I have. I have every character and they're all mint on card, can't go wrong. It's not quite as big as before, but in my opinion still very respectable.
