View Full Version : Faulty Memory or a Real Episode?

I have a strong memory of a certain scene from when I was a kid. Raphael suggests that the Turtles use laser weapons or some such thing, and Donatello retorts that they can't do that because they're "good guys." It seems to me that the scene provided the set-up for the rest of the episode, but again, I can't really remember.

Now, the only DVDs I don't have are the second and fourth parts of Season Three, and Season Six. So is it an episode on one of those releases, or did I just make the whole thing up?

I suppose it could plausibly have been a "Red Sky" episode as well, but I've seen a good chunk of those within the last few years, and I really don't recall it being in that style.

First useless post of the thread!

Seriously though, it sounds familiar. I can't recollect any more than you can, unfortunately. So I guess I was right after all. The only thing I can confirm is that it (might) not be a figment of your imagination...unless our imaginations merged together at some point.

Hmmm... I can hear Don saying that, but definitely don't remember that vividly.

I have a few memories like this that I don't think are episodes. One is the Turtles walking away from Burne or someone after being told that they're menaces, while this has happened a few times... it never happens exactly as I remember it.

And I remember the turtles busting through a wall and confronting Shredder, with Don twirling his staff. Again, it's happened but not as I remember lol

I've been thinking ... does the Season Six episode "Mr. Nice Guy" have any scene remotely resembling this?

Maybe you think of Archie when Trap uses a laser weapon and Leonardo tells him it's not fair. Trap answers fighting isn't fair too.

I believe it's from the Red Sky episodes...I think the one you're referring to is the episode called "The New Mutation"

In it Raph brings up the point that they need more fire power against Dregg, such as blasters, to which Leonardo says "We're ninjas, we don't use blasters" Later, he goes as far as to pick one up during a fight and start firing it and the others look annoyed  The point of the episode is they should use their brains instead of brawn (aka high tech weaponry or their new mutation) :tgrin:

Thanks, doomiscool, that sounds exactly like what I was thinking of. Just put that little question to rest.

But their vehicles (the van, the blimp) use guns.

I remember Donatello went as far as to make wrist-mounted blasters, probably in that episode. And Leonardo refused to use one. And Raphael made a mess of things firing. I remember....

I have this memeory of an episode where there is a villan that is shown to have gone urber crazy because the turtles left him tyed up in a bell tower and because the police didn't find him right away he had to listen to the deafing sounds of bells chimming over and over again until he snapped.

Does anyone remember anything like this? It seems like a vague memory but I could have sworn there was an instance like this in show at some point? Does any of the "ring a bell"?

"We're ninjas, we don't use blasters"

Bus we use high visibility vehicles such as blimps and gaudily painted and highly armed vans.

I thought the idea of ninjas was that they allowed themselves to use any types of weapons available to get their tasks accomplished.

I also remember an episode as a kid that last time I asked on the technodrome they said it didn't exist.

Vernon was having a party near a dock when a pirate ship attacked (I think the pirate ship was already inside the place as decoration) that was full of pirate skeletons. It was a costume party so the turtles had gone as "themselves". Thats all I remember.

Could be thinking of "Raphael Meets His Match." There is a costume party on a ship (with scene), which is attacked by pirates (sort of). Raphael goes as himself. Vernon is there.

Skeletons? Eh, I guess they don't show up in that one. That's all I can think of.

I remember thinking that some one actually going insane from do to something the turtles did was both shocking and cool. Shocking because the turtles always try these nonviolent ways of handling baddies that it's really something to have it blow up in their face.

I seem to recall an episode in which one of the turtles becomes human. Which episode is this? Thanks for helping me out!

I believe that's "The Gangs all Here" from Season 4.

Mike eats some of Shredder's cookies which turns him into a human.

LMAO!!!! wait.... what????

Don't get me wrong, I've seen the episode and own it on DVD, but I mean what would any non-turtle fan or just a fan of the 2K3 think if he just read that sentence out of the blue? Cookie made Turtles human? Shredder's a friggin baker? etc etc

That is "Son of Return of The Fly II". It's the one where Baxter Stockman takes control of the Channel 6 building with his talking computer.

In The Great Cufflink Caper (or sometime close to that) the turtles try to join Big Louie's mob. Louie tells them to prove that they are turning bad they have to rub out the Beaver. Don replies with "We can't do that. We're the good guys."
One of my favorite scenes from the OT is when they chase the Beavers mob onto the ice skating rink. And loved the Turtles "mobster" outfits.

I loved that episode. I think they aired it on Prime-Time first before the regular CBS showing. No idea why they chose THAT episode to air, but I seem to recall there were a bit of reruns at the time, so it was like 'whoa cool! A NEW episode and I don't have to wait Saturday morning to see it!" The Turtles slipping all over the ice was my favorite part. Hell, the whole Beaver the Cleaver gang bit was funny.

As for crazy plans... I remember Pizza by the Shred when my wife walked in while Shredder was discussing his oh-so-brilliant plan for the episode. She rolled her eyes at the whole 'we'll wait for a really weird pizza, one only a turtle would love' part, and then said 'OH GOD' when he mentioned the homing device disguised as an anchovy.
