View Full Version : Foot Ninjas VS Foot Bots
I got the urge to write this thread after seeing Tokka's custom battle-damaged Foot Bot.
Anyway guys. Let's weigh up Foot Bots (Foot Soliders/Foot Tech Ninjas) and Foot Ninjas (Foot clan, Trained up street thugs). What do you prefer as henchmen for the foot?
The Foot Ninjas: Trained assasains, work well in numbers, loyal,
The Foot Bots: Mass-produced, more expendable, replacable.
Thinking of it from the TMNT point of view, The Turtles would probably prefer to smash up a bunch of robots at the expense of the foot as opposed to beating seven shades out of a human person under the wrong influence. Obviously avoiding a fight is ideal, but in many TMNT incarnations avoiding a swarm of Foot Bots/Ninja is not easy.
Discuss Foot Bots / Foot Ninja.

Human Foot Ninja. Foot robots were to lame, and to easy to beat up without any moral issues. (But the Archis comics had some cool bigger Foot robots, especially the one who fought the Warrior Dragon in New York City, and fell towards the Statue of Liberty).

I think the bots are good supplements to and for the human foot. But yeah, the human foot all the way.

Overall: The Foot Ninja's.
I first became familiar with the Foot soldier bots via the OT, but like alot of other kids I'm sure, I also became familiar with the Foot ninja's via the 1990 film. Both sets have a certain charm to them, but yeah ... Foot Ninja's.

Foot ninja... Those punks need to be taught a lesson... Robots are cool but they are bums when it comes to fighting... Kinda like those Putty things with the Power Rangers... they are just no good...

Foot Ninja obviously lead to more interesting stories, as they can become characters themselves. Cha Ocho, for example, I think is one of the most interesting characters to come out of recent TMNT stories.
Now, I don't mind the idea of Foot Bots, but the old cartoon and Archie never really used them as anything more than standard enemies minus the killing. I would've liked to have seen the fact that they were robots taken advantage of more often. "The Foot Soldiers Are Revolting" came sort of close.

hmmm, I missed that.. I have always prefered the plot lines with the human ninjas vs. the Turtles.. It seems like the OT was more sci fi with Krang and such so easier to go with robots and less bloody for a cartoon.. either way, it worked..

I love fighting through about 800 Foot Bots and then watching each one blow up real good. Humans just don't explode quite as convincingly.
So I guess I prefer the majority of the Foot be robotic, but leave room for some elite human fighters.

I'll say. Remember Tatsu in Hyperstone Heist?

I would like to see a TMNT universe where the police in the USA or Japan captures the human Foot Ninjas lead by Tatsu after being defeated by the TMNT, which leads to Shredder and Krang creating Foot robots in the Technodrome in Dimension X as replacement.

Now that was pretty strange. Same deal with Leatherhead and Rocksteady!

Yeah, the only game with Rocksteady and not Bebop.

Yeah, the only game with Rocksteady and not Bebop.
Now that was pretty strange as well! It really was disappointing to fight Rocksteady TWICE (along with all the other spontaneously combustible bosses) and yet they couldn't include poor lovable Bebop. Why, oh, why, did you taunt us Genesis fan-boys, Konami?!?:tgrumble:

Foot Ninjas. They were always more skilled and cunning than their robotic counterparts, which was a refreshing thing to see in the 2k3 toon.

The Foot robots were probably just a censorship to allow Leonardo and Raphael to use their weapons as much as they wanted against the Foot soldiers without any moral issues.

The Footbots had a place though. If it wasn't for them we would have never seen Raph or Leo use their wepons. It is sad that a ninja can't use their wepons cause parents would get upset.
Um the Foot Tech Ninjas were humans.
My 'Um..' bad then. I was actually convinced they were robots.
Does anyone know if the Foot Gunners human too?

The toyline described the Foot Gunners as guys wearing armor and using larger guns. The toon called them Foot Mechs and those were robots.

Yes, and it also made it easier when the video games came out.

I don't think that would have made a difference, considering they would probably blow up anyways.

I look at this from a video game stand-point. A foot soldier robot jumping out of the water from Ninja Turtles III: Manhattan Project would work. If it were a street thug, jumping out of the water--he could drown.
Also, i agree with the mass production of foot soldier robots; and to see the foot blow up in the cartoons made the younger viewers laugh.
So, to answer, I would go with the foot soldier robots.

Yes, but it looks better if a robot blows up than if a human does the same.

I disagree. Tatsu blowing up was pretty funny.
The robot foot Ninjas were underused in the OT, I mean they really rarely fight. And they made them robots so the turtles could maul them with their weapons, however besides the first season and on very rare occasions they never do. In fact they don't appear that often really.
They might as well have used human foot ninjas...It would have been cool to see them destroy dozens of robot foot every other episode like in the video games or even the pilot for the space usagi cartoon.
Human Foot definitely. It's nice how they can be fooled by trickery or surprised with moves instead of just being fodder all the time. Love the Foot theme too! :)

It was also nice to see the dinosaurs fight the Foot soldiers in the episode "Turtles at the Earth's Core".
