I wouldn't say Next Mutation, because that was a decent concept executed horribly (and plus it had Silver and Dr. Quease, who I liked).

I also wouldn't say Coming Out of Their Shells, for all of the crap and cheese in that, the songs are at least catchy.

Off the top of my head, I would say We Wish You a Turtle Christmas. My GOD that was shyte.

at spencer gifts in the mall i saw a tmnt snuggie. yeah one of those blankets with sleeves that looks like a bathrobe worn backwards. i saw that and thought that it had ot be the worst product with the tmnt logo on it. in a side note they even had tmnt pimp cups, lol. that has to be the best product with a tmnt logo ever.:D

The true evil about that was it was an excuse (I guess) to not have a Christmas special on the actual show... I can't believe they missed that oppurtunity. Still... my sister, girlfriend, cousins and I laugh our asses off at this one every Christmas.

Maybe some stupid executive at Fred Wolf Films was worried that a Christmas themed episode would be offensive to those who don't celebrate that holiday, which is ironic considering they did episodes set around Easter and Halloween.

Atleast 4Kids had the right idea when they adapted the Michaelangelo Special and had a character say "Happy Kwanza" to make it a nondenominational holiday episode.

I doubt that... it's actually rather rare for a show to not have a christmas special, or a christmas related episode at least.

True that. I remember Back to the Future had a Christmas themed episode where Doc, Marty, Clara and the boys went back in time to 19th Century England. The episode was basically a parody of Charles Dickens stories.

I've never seen those TMNT snuggies but that would defenitely be up there with Crappiest TMNT product.
Along with those crappy flash lights, the calculators, and the ice cream faces.
NT:TNM was not half as bad as those weak ass flash lights.
And wasn't there A Freddy Kreuger rip-off in the OT called Scary Eddie?

LMFAO Scary eddie was so obvious. When I went to the 25th anniversery gallabunga in NYC I had one of the ice cream heads. I was like 15 blocks away when I saw an ice cream man with a next mutation sticker on his vehicle. I bought it thinking it was just an old sticker and that the ice cream would be 2k3 based. Nope. He was creepy and dirty and his TMNT ice cream had expired in 1998. I opened it, it was brown. I still ate it.

I hated 2k3 after the first like 3 episodes. Thats when I took a break from TMNT. Now that its been a while and I'm an avid reader/collecter of the comics I can appreciate most of it.

Worst TMNT product for me was back in 1991 when UK Frozen Food chain Iceland unleashed a flavour of Turtles pizza that was Apple and Mozzerella flavour.

The gimmick behind these pizzas were that they were green. They tasted almost as bad as they looked. Definitley not as cool as those TMNT pies I've heard about.

Apple sauce instead of tomato just did'nt work for pizza.

I guess they were trying to go for the kind of pizzas the OT Turtles really ate on the show.

Well, since Next Mutation, Coming Out of Their Shells and the snuggies (I saw one of these recently, actually. All I could muster is, "why would they do this?") have already been covered...

"Fast Forward" (or "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: But They're in the Future!" (http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail126.html)) is a strong contender, at least to me. It's not the worst in quality/execution - it's not good, but it's not as painfully bad as what's been covered in this thread already. But as a concept, it's almost like they went out of their way to entirely miss the "point" of the TMNT.

If you summed up the TMNT concept in one or two sentences, it'd probably go something like this: "Four turtles, mutated by radioactive ooze, are trained in ninjitsu by their father, a mutant rat named Splinter. Living in the sewers, in secret from the outside world (aside from their friends April O'Neil and Casey Jones), they battle the evil Shredder and his criminal band of ninjas, the Foot Clan". But aside from their origins, "Fast Forward" misses just about every bit of that core concept.

In that way, it reminds me a lot of "Spider-Man Unlimited", the followup to the '90s Spider-Man cartoon. I can just imagine the producers in the planning stages of the show, mulling over what makes Spider-Man such a popular and marketable character: "So he's a relatable young guy in New York who has to deal with the usual life problems with school, employment, friends, a complicated love life, on top of having to fight crime as a super hero... Hmm, let's scrap all that and send him into space, have him land on a bizarre alternate version of Earth, where he has to fight half-man/half-animal mutants alongside a group of human freedom fighters!"

Considering how good the 2003 series was up until this point, the fact that it managed to veer this far off-track (and especially how quickly!) is pretty mind-boggling.

Oh, definitely. I was more specifically saying that it's one of the worst (in my opinion) as far as missing the core concept and basic appeal of the franchise, not necessarily in quality (though it was a huge drop-off in quality from the previous seasons... but I digress). And the all-around awfulness of the music tour, the Christmas special and "Next Mutation" have been pretty well-covered, already!

I know a guy who worked at Hostess. He said that the employees hated the TMNT pudding pies. I guess the green they covered the pie in caused a lot of problems. He said whenever some problematic seasonal or special product came about they would say "at least it's not mutagen pies".

Mutagen pies are some of the best memories of my childhood though. :tgrin:

Well there is a lot of other products to choose from: What about the Ninja Turtles Cereal that came with a pouch of “green ooze” syrup topping? Chef Boyardee's “Ninja Turtles Cheese Pasta Dinner”? Ninja Turtles Cookies. Another version of the cookies was released called TMNT Sandwich Cremes. Then there were the TMNT Cracks: Basically goldfish crackers shaped like the turtles characters. And also the Pizza Crunchabungas: Pizza flavored corn snacks in the shape of pizzas. Also, TMNT Frozen Pizzas. Also released was Pizza Mini Slices which had the odd topping of apple with a green colored crust. OOZE Gelatin Desserts or how about Ninja Turtle Ice Bars: Sugar ice Popsicles in the shape of the ninja turtles heads, with bubblegum eyes? I guess after a while eating all this as a kid they expected you to turn into a Turtle or at least a light green color.

The Turtles Christmas wasnt that bad, guys. It had the Wrap Rap. The WRAP RAP!

In all honesty, I think the plot to the TMNT movie was the worst. Turtles Christmas, NT:TNM, all the other things mentioned here were put out when the popularity had dropped big time. TMNT had the chance to reintroduce the Turtles to the world. And the plot was just... garbage.

coming out of our shells and a turtle christmas

No way man. COOTS was exciting in it's own way. I was about 5 or 6 when that came out and I absolutely loved it. Looking back on it as an adult, I can see why fans would say it was goofy. I'll agree with that, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It was great for me when I was young. I'm glad it happened.
I remember Down in your town as well. My parents took me to the Civic Center in our city and it was broadcast on a big screen. Totally awesome.

TNM on the other hand was bad. I have trouble even defending it because I don't see how kids could have even liked it. COOTS tour was indeed silly and corny, but I loved it. TNM was just plain stupid and frankly it was boring.
