View Full Version : Another sad day for TMNT, the 5th Turtle Blog has been deleted :-(

Even though it hadn't been updated in over a year the blog Steve Murphy created that provided us with many inside glimpses to the TMNT licensing process has been deleted today.

The blog was filled with a variety of awesome photos from different preliminary items including the infamous "Music Turtles"...I really wish I saved some of the pics off there in retrospect. :(

RIP 5th Turtle Blog.

It was actually deleted a week or two ago. When I noticed it I spent time archiving the whole thing using Google's cache. It might still be available that way if there's something you want to grab.

Lieutenant Granitor, knock it off with the personal attacks. If you can't contribute anything constructive, don't post.

Everyone else, keep it on topic.

Rose maybe with Murphy's ok you could rehost some of his better blog posts on your website? It would just be a shame to lose all of that, is there a reason it was deleted? What was wrong with just letting it sit there as an archive?

Too bad Ryan stopped posting on his blog too, I really enjoyed the unused toy designs.

It sucks that the blog got deleted. I really enjoyed reading it from time to time.

he did. it is just that he recently actually deleted it. His blog went down due to the vocal minority shooting themselves in the foot...as per usual. Same thing with Jake Black's blog. Good work there as well gang.

I concur... Right now people are not held responsible for what they say on the Internet but I think one day they will be... There are already precedents being set that will make that happen...

Remember what your mother told you... If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all...

Given Murphy is leaving Mirage soon anyway, its not like he'd have anything new to post there.

Ugh you're kidding me, really?
I was curious as to why Jake mentioned he was planning to delete his Twitter acct. too.

Never really saw the comment sections of either blog because I followed them via syndication feeds, and not on the actual blog pages themselves.
Wow that sucks.

It wasnt comments in Jakes case. It was hate mail he was getting directly. Members of the fanbase were flaming him over e-mail about his post on the sale of the TMNT.

It's horrible how people sometimes act on the internet. If it keeps up this way, there won't be much artists are who will keep blogging.

Guys, no website or it's content is truly lost forever, just go to www.archive.org and type in the url and you can see any website from the past. I was just checknig out ninjaturtles.com and seeing how it looked from day one well over a decade ago.

Oh no, quite serious. There are members of this fanbase that are nothing but a filthy cancer, and should be cut out.

Shame to hear that. Even though the 5th Turtle blog was no longer running, I used to pop by and look through the archives.

It was only a matter of time.

I hope that isn't a metaphor. That's pretty hardcore. Can't say I disagree though. It's utterly pathetic anyone would take out their buy out woes on Jake. He has enough going on as it is.

I am just very tired of the vocal minority opening their big ignorant yaps and having the rest of the fanbase pay the price. Its gone on for too long, and has never EVER brought ANYTHING constructive.

Lol, it took me a minute to realize what you were talking about. No, the cancer reference was in not way connected to Jake's battle. Though it is somewhat humorous in hind sight. My reference...not his cancer...you know what? Im going to stop talking.

It's okay I get what you are saying. For Jake's sake I know I got my Scratch T-shirt and SDCC print and I'm sure you do as well.

You said Jake posted on the buy out, I was just wondering what he said that made him get hate mail. Or did he just post the news and people started flaming him? Something there just doesn't add up. Unless all of the Mirage creators got hate mail from the buy out, which makes even less sense.

Jake had made a very "brass tacks" statement about the buyout expressing how he felt. Unfortunately, as I didn't expect the blog to shut down, I didn't save it. Mayb someone here can help us out.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Seriously, though... flaming someone who's battling cancer over something as trivial as the sale of a comic book/cartoon franchise? That's straight-up idiotic. Some people have truly screwed-up priorities in life if that strikes them as "acceptable behaviour".
