Tales #69, the second to last issue, has its cover put up. Looks like Dan Berger has one more story, and possibly his last ever (?), as the second to last issue.

Jim Lawson said awhile ago #70 is done by him and is a mostly Raph solo adventure set during Return to New York.

I can't believe we're almost at the end now. Almost brings a tear to my eye.

Just based on the cover alone, looks like Future Shadow in some kind of a post-apocalyptic... somewhere. Perhaps New Orleans, or wherever Future Raph was in that Dan Berger issue a ways back where the city was all flooded like that.

The only other Tales issue with no Turtles was that one with April going on self-discovery after she found out she was a drawing.

I don't think the karai-centric story "The Amulet" (Tales 44) had any turtles in it either.

I really hope it is a follow up to the last scene in Tales #55 where we got to see a future Raph alone with his thoughts, teddy bear and April robot.

Now Karai approaching Shadow about joining the Foot Clan in early Vol. 4 makes slightly more sense. That looks like a Foot uniform to me.

At least Tales has been fixing some of Vol. 4's plotholes.

So the world gets destroyed in the future? I guess there must have been some major war with all the aliens living on Earth during Volume 4. Maybe the Xihad guys succeeded in getting the "alien scum" off the planet.

I also hope we see a bit of the older Turtles in this, and maybe Mikey if that's what it is.

Thank god Dan Berger is doing the art for this issue, Shadow is going to look very "sexy" and "badass" if the cover is any indication.

The long flowing hair is also awesome. Never liked either the goth look in Tales or the short haircut from Volume 4.

This is how I always imagined Shadow being when she was an adult. Long-flowing blonde hair and a kickass fighter. At least we're finally going to get to see Shadow done right before Tales closes.

From what I know:

Based purely on visuals, and applying generous amounts of Nick Fury logic to Shadow, I would put her in her 30's, maybe her 40's.

Definitely not the last story in the "full" timeline.
