What is your favorite TMNT belt style? Let's see the main ones...

1. Knot.

http://www.thegreenlanterncorps.com/belt2.jpg

The classic TMNT belt introduced in the first issue of TMNT. Though I believe it only lasted 3 issues before being discarded in favor of...

2. Stitch.

In the comics this is the final evolution of Eastman & Laird's own depiction of the TMNT. By and far, it's probably the most widespread depiction of the belts insomuch as the comics go.

3. Buckle/strap.

A style of belt popularized by A.C. Farley in the comics and other media. It also carried over into Frank Fosco's depiction of the TMNT belts in Vol. 3.

Personally I love the A.C. Farley belts followed closely by the "stitch" look. I never cared for the "knot" look because it makes the material of the belt seem ribbony and not leathery... and less likely/able that the TMNT would be able to store/tuck stuff like shuriken in it.

What say you?

What, no option for the letters on the buckles? :)

Buckle all day dude. It's too legit.

Buckle. It seems by far the most practical (like it might actually hold some weapons to a shell) and looks really bad-ass when drawn correctly.

Stitch is okay. Hate the knot. There are moments in the 4Kids cartoon where the material stretches very thinly into the knot, and it just looks ... really bad.

Heh, haveta go against the grain and say knot. Whenever I doodle the guys in green, I always do so with a knot.

Seconded, those are my favourites.

Buckle/strap, then closely followed by stitch. Both are pretty sweet

as long there's no letters on the belt I'm all good.
but I do like a knot of they have a martial art belt Obi
but with leather belts, the buckle looks very cool

Seconded, those are my favourites.

Kind of randomly, but...did anyone ever market/sell the letter belts? I know that there're pizza turtle belt buckles, and logo turtle belt buckles. But...why not initial turtle belt buckles?

Other - the lettered belts by far.

But if I had to choose one of those, I'd go with the knot.

Knot, then stitch.

I don't think I can choose one, but I was wondering something. The stitched belts, even though they look cool, do not make sense practically. Unless they're not supossed to be taken off, never. Or that the turtles rip them and the sew them again each time they get a bath.

That's it, that was my post.

Knot, martial arts use knots...

I kind of saw the stitch as form fitting so to speak. The stitch is tight enough where they could just slide the belt up and it would fit nice and snug. Or the stitch could be elastic to a degree. Just a thought.

Stitch, probably. The comics got me used to it.

I like the knot best because it looks the most martial artsy. However, I'm a fan of all three styles because they all fit the comic TMNT in their own way.

While we're at this, Leo's shoulder strap shall have two strands and metal rings to connect them. So it is written, so it shall be.

And Michelangelo shall not have holsters for his nunchaku. Ever.

I'm not 100% sure but it possibly isn't stitched, but rather a leather thread fed through eyelets and knotted on the inside.

I thought that said post was pretty funny. Sad to see it go though, as it actually made me laugh. What makes it worse though, is that it never even made the Disintigrator Unit, meaning a piece of comedy gold is gone forever. Well, except from in our memories. And our hearts. Yeah

Knots. Very martial arts like.

I voted for knot, but I do like the varying styles of belts the guys have. Even some of the fan-style ones.

I voted for knot as well. It's also used on NT;TNM.

'OT bashing is against the rules'

LOL oh well. I guess someone felt that fell under the category.

Why? That seems a bit... Over the top.

On subject, I find all but the stitch OK. But buckle is totally bamf so I voted for that option.

More rule 2 than rule 6, since the post involved mocking other members and trolling. It was removed at the same time as two other troll posts in different threads that had nothing to do with the OT, so it wasn't being singled out for that or anything.

And while we have no problem discussing why a mod/admin decision was made with those who were affected by it, we would really prefer that the discussion be held privately. Let's please continue it there if necessary and get back on topic here.
