I would have said Mirage Collected Book Volume 1, but since I never managed to get a copy, I voted for Turtles Forever. That film was so touching, so perfect for an ending.

I honestly had to say the buy-out. I really enjoyed everything else but I think Nick and Viacom will be able to take turtles to a height that they havnt seen since the early 90's. I think it allows for another chance at great success but only if they stay true to the origin and put out a product that the old fans can relate with and still capture the new audience. As far as anniversarys go though I think it was a sad attempt at something that could have been a lot better.

I wanted to snag a copy of that too, but it went OoP really fast or something. So I'm voting for Turtles Forever too, it's just too awesome.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy any facet of the 25th Anniversary "Shellebration" aside from the one that didn't happen, "The Forever War"... but definitely the San Diego premiere of "Turtles Forever" at the SDCC stands out in my mind. What an awesome, awesome time that I'll never forget. Mostly. There was a sh*t ton of vodka involved, and the two free drink tickets everyone got was a damned nice gesture.

I'm very glad Tokka and even Michelle twisted my arm into going.

This.
Though...Tokka and Michelle didn't twist my arm to go. But everything else is pretty much dead on.

It was like, nothing that I'd read about "Turtles Forever" (the camp cartoon Turtles from the 80s meet the somewhat less camp cartoon Turtles from later? meh, pass) intrigued me so a private screening of which didn't seem like something I'd enjoy. Or at least, something I'd rather take time aside from an already pretty busy day in town to go and attend.

Then Michelle mentioned-without-mentioning that the Mirage Turtles were in the movie in a significant capacity and my interest was piqued. I suppose if I'd followed the development of the movie I'd have already known that.

There was the problem, though, of me not having a ticket from playing that game or whatever.

Turtles Forever, hands down. It was like a big love letter to fans. Trailing in behind it would be Turtles in Time Re-Shelled, the various collected books (Mirage vol. 1, the two Archie collections, Kevin's collection), and the 25th anniversary figures - even if all haven't been released.

Even after we'd had the conversation about getting a drink? FOR SHAME. For shame indeed!

I really had precious little information on what Turtles Forever was going to be about, but there was no way I was passing up a turtle event held in a bar. OT related or not, I figured there'd be a story worth telling.

And there was!
By far the highlight of the whole Shell-a-bration, for me at least. Though...I think if I got to do it over again I'd probably eat more before going so I'd remember more that happened. Maybe be a bit more coherent when talking to people whose work I've admired for years.

Or at bare minimum been better able to defend myself against Ernie Reyes Jr's ninja hug. Man that was weird. Though, I've got to admit: "Say nothing, he could kill us all" really was the quote of the whole trip for me.

Well I didn't think it'd be at the premiere shindig! :) I didn't even know the premiere was going to be at a bar until I was standing there inside... I figured a tiny little cash bar tucked in the corner of a meeting room, or something.

Aw, you did fine. I think. Several of those "people whose work I've admired for years" seemed like they were on the same state of mind as you or I. Or close to it.

Ernie Reyes and Lawson were, for certain.

No way. Ernie was completely sober.

There was that wee collection of the TMNT Adventures three issue microseries. Came with a new Dooney cover and everything. It was released by Archie...

Man, I so wish I could have been at that premier. Looks so much fun. I hate being at the wrong end of the ocean.

But yeah, Turtles Forever is pretty special. Haven't got Smash Up yet, and although cool, new TPBs of books I already own, rereleased figures I already have MOC just aren't quite as neat.

Somewhere between that pic, that line, and "Ernie's performance" probably lies a fantastic joke. :)

That's an awesome pic with him, though. Dude was just off the wall in a good way.

Without a doubt, Turtles Forever. What could be better than seeing a new TMNT 1987 episode for the first time in over a decade?

I figured the TMNT Snuggie would have got licensing products a vote or two lol

Turtles Forever. I could say that the Viacom buyout is good, but I'd only be saying that based on potential because we haven't seen anything out'a them yet. Also, the movie started out being an awesome announcement but now it's up in the air, too, until we hear more.
