I hate everything to do with war so wat i have decided to do is make up my own headlines in my head zoneing out all the war and have headlines to do with the new TMNT comic series by mirage. My first issue of the NINJITSU GAZETTE is to do with issue 1 and the headline is SHOOTING SLEDs IN THE SKY.

Im kinda lost too :) but i think basically he wants to make his own headlines based on the tmnt comics to get away from war in some way.

I saw a sign in a magazine that a young teenage girl was holding that read: "I am NOT proud to be an American" She was a part of the peace mobs around California.......well I would LOVE for her to go to Iraq and live. How can ANYONE that has even visited America not be so proud of how much we have here?? If you have any doubt about America, go visit a 3rd world country and see how much you have to be thankful for. I seriously cant STAND people that feel they have a grasp on what reality is when then are still sucking their moms teet. The war is here, it isnt pretty...the majority dont want it, but that doesnt mean they cant support it. I dont want the war, but I am in support of my country all the way. If you are ashamed of what we are fighting for AT ALL I feel sorry for you.
I like how actors and actresses think they have a say in what goes on and can change anything at all. It makes me laugh. All they are doing is being dubbed 'traitors' and hopefully they wont be allowed to return to our awesome country.....
well thats my piece, sorry for rambling. I just hate anti-war talk.

Well, it's not the UK which must be blamed but Blair who behaves like a dictator. In the U.S. Bush is supported by most of his people but in the UK nearly everybody is against war. The good thing about it is that this awful person will never be voted again.

the US gov't. is a bunch of BS. Bush wants to free Iraq 'cause its a POS country and they've gone too far with their camps and all. Bush is not a stupid man. He is a man of God who is being used to help countries in need. Because you have your assumptions on his behavior and personality doesnt make them so, the same goes for my case....except mine is a LITTLE easier to prove than what you might have to say. If you dont like Bush or what he stands for by all means go kick it with Saddam. He might be a 'nice' person.

True he gases his own people, but then again 30% of the people that live near Bush are in poverty or homeless....hmmm as well as low taxes doesn't help the government being able to pay for education, medical insurance, social security, etc... Iraq is really rich and isn't in debt a few trillion, they can use its money wisely... Nice weather in Iraq, they probly believe in global warming, so they wont be in the flood when we are, in america those damn commercials are so annoying...

EDIT: Also, America doesn't have all that freedom you may think it has. Only half the people in the U.S can be satisfied during one presidential term, the only real freedom you have is to vote for someone to represent your opinions, but if they dont win, you end up with someone you dont want, you also get partial freedom of speech... Heck, I have seen 500 people get arrested for protesting the war, how's that for freedom? :lol: :lol:

When you stand and throw trash cans at cop cars or in the streets, thats not freedom of speech. When you block government buildings with bodies so people can't go to work, thats not freedom of speech. But America has never and hopefully never will have absolute freedom of Speech. I am proud to be an American, and people who are not should go get gasssed for all I care. And who bases the iraquies prosperity on the Presidents work? talk about nothing to do with. I see illegal Mexicans working and they get good money. But what do iraques do thats what I want to know.

You know why we dont have have complete freedom of speech. Because there are some idiots that I will not mention except that his BACK is hurting that say the stupidist things and no one wants to hear or know how stupid can people actually be.

Believe me, my parents were/are strict catholics and I don't think they or any priest I have met in my life (and those were a lot) have ever taught me that "evil" should be punished by killing people. I guess noone of you really got what Jesus was supposed to die for. I would never say that Christian religion is totally great because it was too many times mistreated by people who claimed they "fought for god" like Bush does now but he DOES NOT. It makes me angry when the message of peace is raped in this way.
This is my last post concerning the Iraq war because there is no point in discussing this with people who not even try to understand that people have absolutely no right to say they are fulfilling God's wishes by using violence. Besides, my home is Germany, most people here got what this war is about, so the whole war-thing shouldn't be of my business. It just makes me angry...

second, this war is NOT about personal gain for Bush. What does he get from this? only a buncha stupid people that hate him and proclaim to want peace!

the reason for the war is to eradicate forces that have the potential power to kill THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of innocent people, American, Iraqi, or otherwise. Saddam, the Iraqi regime, and other networks, have used these weapons before and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't stop to do it again.

barkworm was talkin about the bible and war. believe it or not, there ARE times when God was in favor of war. When it is for a good cause (like preventing the deaths of thousands of innocent people) war can be a good thing, or it will have been a good thing after it is over.

I don't like war more than anybody else here, and I hope this ends soon, but it still has to happen sometime.

And Tokka, you have got to be pretty stupid to think that it would be better in Iraq than here in America. You say America barely has any freedom. before this war, Saddam controlled EVERYTHING in Iraq. That means the TV, radio, and practically everything else you can think of. On the other hand, here in America, we have more freedom than any other country IN THE WORLD! Go live in China for a while. You have no experience as to what it is like outside of america, so you think it's a dump here. seriously man, here we really are blessed.

Not really. Weapons inspections took place for over 12 years and were obviously unsuccessful. And, even when the Bush administration was "a'gunnin' fer war", they took a very lengthy diplomatic process that lasted nearly 2 years. To tell you the truth, I haven't heard any valid 'options' that haven't been used in the past. I'm afraid war was the only way.

Not really. Resolution 1441, as well as a few others, give any nation of the UN justification to use force against Iraq for violation of UN sanctions. We didn't 'violate' any international laws by doing this. The countries opposing war, however, by refusing to enforce UN sanctions, are violating UN authority though.

There is nothing imperialistic about this war. Unless the US makes Iraq some kind of Middle Eastern version of Puerto Rico (which is highly unlikely), then there is no claim to imperialism here.

It wasn't so much that the inspectors 'failed' as much as they were deceived by Saddam Hussein. The simple truth is that the inspectors genuinely BELIEVED Iraq had disarmed when in fact he did not (for example, Hussein used biochemical weapons on the Kurds living in Iraq as late as 1998, killing over 5000).

The procedures were changed and revised. And more than once. But, then end result was the same.... it didn't matter how they changed because Hussein still deceived the inspectors every single time.

Yah see, Tokka, you just answered yourself.... Resolution 1441 (as well as others, such as 786 I believe) DOES give us the legality to use force against Iraq. It flatly says that if Iraq does not disarm, the members of the UN are given jurisdiction to use force to make them disarm. Obviously, Iraq has not complied. Thus, we (along with the rest of the UN) are given the right to force them to comply.

This most recent resolution (which was the 18TH resolution against Iraq), which failed, was more an ongoing formality than anything else. It was only a matter of time until the war took place. Saddam has not been cooperating for the past 12 years. What makes you think things would be different now??

No, it doesn't further your point. Taking control of a threatening nation and reforming it is not imperialism. If that were the case, then America's 'imperialistic' reforming of Japan and West Germany shows us that 'imperialism' can obviously have positive results. Again, military action is not necessarily imperialistic. Iraq is not going to be a part of the 'American empire' (which does not exist). Iraq will most likely be a Middle Eastern version of Japan.

Besides, the United States won't have control of the oil--- the Coalition forces will.

Stationing inspectors and monitoring technology (such as x-ray scanners and chemical sensors) at border crossings, as well as at the port of Aqaba, could help prevent Iraq from acquiring weapons and components from abroad. Monitoring and inspection could also be tightened at Iraq's main port, Basra. In addition, a more vigorous, multilateral effort to expose and penalize arms embargo violators would address the supply side.

Another alternative is to expand programs to secure and safely destroy WMD stockpiles in the former Soviet Union and elsewhere. (that means us too, no country should be superior than another in my opinion)

But you see, by going into Iraq we are breaking more codes than we are obeying, it destroys a purpose of our invasion. We never won a vote anyway for the resolution, most of the world is against us. You say what makes me think Saddam would comply now as opposed to any other time within the past 12 years. Well, what makes you think he will attack us all of a sudden when he hasn't for the past 12 years?

Success so far in the war? Does that mean killing thousands of Iraqis? Sorry, but IMHO you don't kill a person to save one. This point is a matter of ethics.

The funds that are channeled to by the Iraqi oil reserves should be given to the Iraqis, not us, or a coalition...

I say I don't know what would work, because no one does, but I say what might work, and out of the possibilities, war should always come last, but even then I am a little wary about it.....

Alternate energy sources is a boycott to oil. What does Iraq get the money to buy weapons from? Oil. Without money, he can't gas kurds or other people, maybe then he will change, money always has a negative effect on people. Just think these things out in a logical step by step manner and you will soon get it too heretic. If I say something it might not directly relate to what we were currently talking about, but I thought you'd handle the comparison quite easily....

Operation was an annoying game............I think it was the source of most of my childhood problems...I mean how are we supposed to learn patience from this?? It freaking scared the CRAP outta me when I'd hit the sides and I'd eventually flip out and never finish a single game. The creator of this game should be forced to play his own stupid creation for a year straight. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
