Okay, first up is a little design for Mona Lisa from the old show. Human form, obvioulsy. Went with a little retro party-girl and a dash of preppie on the side look for her, which I think works with her bubbly personality. She'll look better colored, and yes her arm is too long and yes her feet aren't finished yet.

And next is Ninjara's human form. I changed her background story a bit, so instead of being one of an ancient race of fox people, I made her an actual Kitsune spirit from Japanese folklore. The tattoo on her back does have a purpose, but it's kind of involved. I don't think I should have shrunk these files down so much, I've lost some of the detail, which irritates me. :x

Dang, you have some nice clean character studies.

Thanks! The scans are actually a bit grainier than the actual pictures. Sigh. Gotta clean 'em up in Photoshop. :sweatdro: Oh well. :)

Although I'm no pro in human art, I think you need to tweak your anatomy a little bit. The hands on Ninjara and her torso are shaped a little weird in the clothed pic. BTW here are some tips on scanning. Scan them in 300 dpi and the cleaning is much easier on a bigger canvas. All you have to do is do a simple image resize, and save on the highest setting for .jpg and bam, there goes your grainy problem.

Ooooo, thanks for the tip. I used to scan in 300 dpi but the files were too big even after I shrunk them. .... That made no sense. 300 dpi it is.

Yeah, Ninjara's hand turned out weird when I inked it for some reason. That happens a lot with me for some reason, I just chose the wrong line or something. :embarass: And her torso actually looked fine before I threw the coat on over it; now it looks all tweaky, but I swear it was a good foundation. I need to practice clothing. Thanks for the tips and suggestions! :)

Wow, even more amazing art! Damn, I'm jealous, I absolutely suck at inking.

Wow... scanner and inking details aside, you really have a good start going. I love how you portray them so that the mood is set, and you could figure out half od the characetr's nature just from they way they look.

Kali-- Hey, all inking takes is practice. I used to really suck at it too, but I'd practice on some of my not-quite-as-good art and looked at other people's inking jobs, etc, and got better at it. :)

HorseTechie-- Wow, thanks! :D I try to get their personalities but it doesn't always work the way I want it to. ;)

Ooooo, go for it, I'd like to see a human Mondo. :) Thanks, I think it suits her as well. It always bugged me that in the cartoon she was originally human and when she got turned into a salamander (or whatever she was supposed to be) she suddenly had no problem running around practically naked. So when I finalize her lizard-look she'll be wearing her nifty little retro-style clothes. I have no idea why I just went off on that particular tangent there. I think I need food or something.
