You can certainly see that even the suits in the sequels were designed kids in mind.

And the TMNT 3 ones by the All Effects Company were just plain awful. Two thumbs up to Hensen's though.

OMG! I've never put all the pictures side by side! The third ones, I knew were bad, but in Raphs words "Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!" They are horrible! I have the semsation of vomit in my throat...

the ones from part three aren't that bad...although they're easily the least of the costumes. did Splinter's ear grow back in the sequels?

The ones from part one look definitely more serious than the others.

Ngggaaaaahhh! Those third movie pics are AWFUL!!! Yeesh...poor Splinter looks part cat in the third, Ocsar-the-grouchish in the second, and the guys looked like they were sniffing glue in the second and sick in the third!
I love the original movie's pics... :D *hugs The loveable mutants*

The second movie turtles eyes are a lot bigger, and the realistic detail are lost. And they really screwed up Leo and Donnie's heads. ESPECIALLY Donnie. I also didn't like Don's voice in the second. Corey Feldman shoulda been in it instead, the second one was too annoying.

Feldman was in rehab, that's why they got Adam Carl. Also, if you notice, when he returns in part three, for the first half of the movie, he's not really in the character at all.

I'd really like Feldman to come back as Donnie at some point... So far, he was my favorite voice of donnie... No really! I thought he was great! Actually, I liked all the voices from the first movie come to think of it

I can tell the Costumes are different. And the Splinter puppet x3. The Charaters may of been played by different actors but at least it's free for all. The one who act in the Raphel part in TMNT 2 was the same Actor for Raphel in TMNT 1. TMNT 3 Raphel was played by Matt Hill my favorite actor.
I always new the third costumes were horrible but when u set them side by side with the others. It makes you want to shot somebody. The first costumes rock.
JoshBYawn
03-25-2003, 05:13 PM
J Legault, I'm sorry but you're wrong. TMNT 1 was Josh Pais (who also was the actor inside Raph's suit), TMNT 2 Raph was Laurie Faso (NOT the same person as TMNT 1 Raph) and TMNT 3 Raph was Tim Kelleher. Sorry to burst your bubble, dude.

Well they actually didn't screw it up, they made the choice to make the second one as a kids movie. Rumor has it that many parent complained about the violence and darkness of the first movie, and thats why second movie became what it is.

That's absolutely right. Namely, it was the usage of the weapons. That's why Don played with a foam bat and Mikey played with a yo-yo. The thing that parents didn't realize is that no matter if the turtles were stealth ninjas who flung stars into peoples eye sockets, or Jehovahs Witnesses, their kids would still play with that really cool stick on the playground that looks like a sword through their eyes.

Parents, by nature, are ignorant. They over protect their kids way too much. They forget what it's like to be that age.

The first movie did great, it suprised all. So they should have tought "If it's not broken, don't fix it" and made it PG if have to. Well there's no changin history now, but Laird himself said that the new TV movie will be sort of sequel to the first TMNT, so Im guessing that now we will get a TMNT movie we have been waiting since 1990.

That reminds me of the time recently me and my friend sarah ran around a Pumpkin Maze in Tracy (near by city) Acting like Link and Zelda... ALl the adults thought that we were damn weirdos... and to be honest we are, but the kids wanted to join in and play with us...

TMNT 1 April was Judith Hoag, TMNT 2 and 3 was Paige Turco.
Josh
Hmm, while I can obviously see that the costumes for TMNT 1 were of better overall design, I can't help but liking the TMNT costumes more (with the expection of Leo) as far as their faces go. Gah, it's really close though.
Yes, I know TMNT 1 was an amazing movie filled with action, drama, emotion, and great story and effects. It's easily the best of the three. I just personally like movies with a bit more humor, like TMNT 2.

Personally, I can't see much difference between the first and second costumes for Raph and Mike (Leo and Don are pretty obvious though). I daresay that knowing that Jim Henson's Creature Shop did the work for the first 2 movies.
But every time I see the costumes from the third movie, I faint when I see the horrible mouth articulation and obvious lack of realism in the costumes overall. Yes, they DID look like frogs in the third movie, I'm sorry to say. Plain and simple, the third movie was worth killing yourself over (and yet I own all 3 of them...)

The suits were done by Hensson, and were ok in TMNT 2, but clearly inferior to the first suits. Personally I didn't like the loss of realism, but the whole feeling changed, and so did the suits.
Yes, they DID look like frogs in the third movie, I'm sorry to say.

Yeah they just really sucked. The didn't have any life to them. I literally thought it just looked like some guy in a frog suit. But not a good frog suit. They just appeared may to rubber.

First of all, Rapheal, you are totally nuts, er, in my opinion... Second, the pics lined up are like de-evolution in progress... Man... Makes me wanna add in cartoon and comic faces just to complete the set... Face shots from the first mirage comic, and then end with shots of four different baby turtles with photoshopped bandannas.

Yeah, the evolution of the turtle suits definetly went to wrong direction. So did the movies themelfs. But It seems that the Hallmark movie will be step to right direction. Of course all we know yet is just hype, so we don't really know how it's going to turn out.

Oh man, I'm soooooo looking forward to see the Hallmark-movie since Peter said that Splinter would look way better in it. I'm also wondering if the turtles will have a traditional outfit like in the new show or something slightly different.

What is it with everyone and the turtle sequals?! I mean I only tend to make fun of the way the turtles looked in the third flick, but I loved the films regardless of how they came out.
I can see how the sequals could've been better had the storylines been taken more seriously, but it's not worth trashing them for what they are. We're just beating a long dead horse.

Well I dont mean to bash. Heck, I still watch all of them. I was watching the third one today. Just because its the least of the three in my mind, doesnt mean I hate it. The third was easy to make fun of because of somewhat weak story lines, less great dialouge, and of course those horrible costumes. The second wasn't bad, but certainly there was room for improvement. Its just that in comparison to the first movie, the second two didnt live up. The biggest problem being that they hardly seemed to follow in story line continuity. The only thing close to continuity in the second movie was that Shredder was in a dump at the beginning. Also, the third seemed to make no reference to the first two movies, aside from the layer.

I can say wich TMNt movie I don't like and why. It's not bashing, its my own opinion. Like I have said, As I have grown older, I don't think anything named TMNT is good. Now it all depends on writing, plot, action scenes, over all feel etc. And TMNT 2 is inferior to the first in all of these cathegories.
You love it, fine, But if some us don't and want to tell their reasons, you shouln't start complaing we are trashing the movie. I think it is a good subject for discusion wich TMNT movie you like and wich you don't. And of course the reasons should be included.

I thought that someone had made reference to them making them. My bad. Anyway, as for the Coming Out Of Their Shells costumes...if they didn't have perpetual smiles and better mouth articulation, they wouldn't have been that bad.

They do look like frogs in TMNT 3... Wow... I never notice before, but suddenly it's all so clear. TMNT 2 looks cleaned up a lot, but the grit on the turtles is lost thus the realism is dropped like 3rd period french. Anyway I own them all, I watch them all, I love them all, but TMNT 1 is the best. If for no other reason than this line...

Yeah I don't like the loss of realism either, but the movie was made for kids, and suits were planned the same way.
