Nah, apparently Robyn has cancer and the Turtles have to go fight it out or something. It's inspired by Jake Black's own battle with cancer.

At some point during Volume 4, April's sister Robyn gets cancer and the TMNT go in to bust it up. Outside of the extremely amusing title, I'm not feeling this one right now...

Also, I have no idea when this could take place. April's hair has grown back, and she hasn't left on her soul searching. Maybe this is an honest-to-god post Volume 4 story and it tells how Mike came back, Don grew, and Raph changed back. Not likely, but I hope.

As a commentary on his own personal struggles with cancer, it was a very feel-good and triumphant sort of story. Taken objectively, without knowledge of any of the behind the scenes stuff, its sort of just average (not bad, but not particularly stand-out).

An alright issue, though.

"A Klunk Adventure" was a surprise bonus, though Lawson really doesn't need to keep drawing gigantic buttholes on animals.

And Lawson's art thrives on its quirky details; otherwise it would seem very flat.

Drspengler has quite an accurate review on it. Its got somewhat of a rushed pace which does at times feel hollow but I suppose its better then the bland, lets drag this out kinda schtick alot of other turtle stories have had. I looked at it as more of a 'wow theres alot coming at me at once' thing rather then the 'this is like a kids cartoon in the sense that everything miraculously comes together in a short period of time' point of view. Deffinately enjoyable nonetheless, I laughed at mikeys small comments & thoroughly enjoyed the backstory, though it was very short. Better then 66 by far so thats a plus.

Very heartfelt story. It saddened me to read about Jake's optimistic February preface about testing clean for cancer as of December, only to know that he has since suffered further complications (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=30168&highlight=%22jake+black%22). Too bad the TMNT aren't really around to help a friend in need.:(

And, yeah, I could have done without those couple of panels on the Klunk Adventure story.:dead:

A pretty moving story, and moreso knowing about Jake's own struggle. I enjoyed it.

And yeah, the Klunk story was a pretty sweet bonus. And poo on anyone decrying the rat and cat buttholes in it.

Besides, its just a circle with an X, he could've been alot more graphic. I think he did the not so attractive body spot that we all have in a tasteful way so to speak haha!

Thought it was quite a cool issue. Very enjoyable, with some great moments. Mikey was ace in it. This part was definitely my favourite:

"I wish I knew how to thank you guys. Words just don't seem enough..."

This is actually pretty hard to place in the timeline, now that I've read it.

April has hair (could be explained by a wig), but the Utroms can un-shrink creatures... this might indicate that it's after Don get's back to normal. I dunno.

I just assumed it took place after Don is "un-shrunk" and Raph returns to his old form. Was Casey in this issue at all?
