the last thing I want is to sound preachy. If you like, give it a go, if not, are the same ol' comments really necessary?
Anyway, peace:tcool:

I'm a proud Omnivore.
Just wanted to add that here in Norway most green stuff is more expensive then meat

In Portugal being vegetarian is cheaper than being omnivore.:tcool:

I eat 10 meals for week of pure vegan (no milk no eggs no meat nothing animal related) and 4 meals of fish or poultry, I almost never eat pig or cow.:tmad:

I do it for my health not for saving the animals... I practiced many sports and now I´m in Taekwondo taking an absence from Fencing, and I always needed a special diet.:trolleye:

I don´t smoke, I only drink at meals... never drink without food, and I run from fizzy drinks, like coke, pepsi, 7up or beer. My only beer is black.

I don´t drink coffee also, and my Masters tell me to don´t do sex when we are in champioships but hey no one is so strong so my Master can go f*** himself.

I´m no vegetarian, I take care for my health, just that.:trazz:

For playing what? What are you talking about? I guess it's true what they say vegetarians, Jesus.

That's true mostly anywhere. Go to any health place in NYC and the cheapest plate is 10 bucks.

^^ isn't that the truth! That's one of the reasons Americans are so heavy I think. its cheaper to eat poorly than eat the healthy stuff. For me, to get veggies cheap, I have to grow them.

(got tomatoes and lettuce and various herbs going now)

as for vegetarian....its just not for me. I can never get enough iron and my doctor yells at me and I break out in hives and my hair starts to fall out. After about a month vegetarian I start to look like a concentration camp survivor. no joke. I've tried it before. Also, I like chicken and fish and barbeque too much to ever give it up

There's lots of iron rich vegetarian foods, like soybeans, spinach, tempeh, lentils, tofu... the list goes on and on! :)

Edit: More info on that: http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/iron.htm

Makes me want to make steak and salad when you bring up spinach and lentils... or salsa.

I'll take a jab at this National Vegetarian weak, I am going to have a hard time giving up my chicken and pork for a weak though.

No need to get prickly, I've just heard this thing alot, and you were in the line of fire for the day, so my apologies.
I'm actually not a vegetarian as I occasionally eat seafood, so it will be a challenge for myself, also.

As far as being a cheaper meal, this is best achieved by buying the ingredients and preparing them yourself. You actually can make quite a few meals from a small and inexpensive haul at the grocers.

QFT. Vegetarian food is very cheap and nourishing when you buy and prepare it on your own.

Not if you're buying the meat substitutes, which when you're a vegetarian, sometimes you just want/crave.

I could probably coast on meat substitutes if they were cheaper, but I like me some turkey from time to time, and tofurkey is not to my taste. Something about it just bugs me.

Ehh.. meat substitutes are usually what turns people off about vegetarianism. A lot of them are pretty damn gross. Faux ribs and chicken are really the only things that I think taste remotely the same.

I don´t understand the need for substitutes... fake meat... I don´t need it... I eat my meals with only vegetables and pasta and don´t feel the need for it.

My vegan lasagna is superb.

Well, I'm partial to the occasional veggie burger. Some brands aren't so bad.
