I got a little sidetracked from making Rocksteady. I really had the hankering to make Rat King he just seemed like something really fun to sculpt. I like all the bandages and texture. I was never big on rat king as a kid, i remeber not getting the toy i always felt he was lame. But design wise he's grown on me and i think he has a pretty nice design. When i was initially thinking of doing him i was toying with the idea of making him super skinny and emciated like psycho mantis but it was hard getting the iron man base figure skinny enough.

Construction wise this is a an extra iron man i had from the sheild builder sets. sculpted over, the heads a totally original sculpt as well. The texture on the chest and arms is like rat fur. The texture on the pants is just more fabricy, it didn't show up that great. Basically I'm going for a look of poorly sewn togeter chunks of fabric and rat fur all over. and the little thread things are connectors,

I'm blending toy and cartoon elements Like when i paint him I'm going to give him red eyes like the figure, but everything else more like the toon.

I noticed I forgot to add some of the ties that go the back of the bandages, and some of the "thread" connector fell off right before the photoshoot. So i may add a few of those back on.

oh yeah i need to add some rats to him as well... der..

On to General Traag...

Traag and Mike were the first two tmnt figures i got as a kid, so i always had a soft spot for it. But for the figure source I'm going for the cartoon model, fused with the arcade game sprite. I'm not gonna do anything toy based, i never liked the toys color scheme made zero sense to me since traag in the show and games was rock colored.

I'm using the 2-pack Thing figure as a base, i tried to match the rock texture. The belts a bit meh, I'm still contemplating maybe adding some things. I also keep debating on if i should give him a thigh holster like he has in the toon. I'm not very big on this Thing figure as a thing figure cause i think he looks to small but he works perfect as traag cause he's supposed to be small. I'd love to eventually make granitor and rock soldiers to go with him. I love sculpting rock texture.

then heres a big group shot with bebop...

I'm using that same Thing figure for my own General Tragg custom. I think yours will look awesome once it is painted up.

Ray: Your figure choices cause me paaaaaaaaaain. First a MOTUC figure, now that 2-pack Iron Man that I only saw once?! Sculpt over some Captain Cold figures, why dontcha? :P That Thing and Mr. Fantastic 2-pack pegwarmed for centuries, though, so that choice is acceptable. :)

Fantastic work, as before.

Man I love that rat king, I hope we get to see these painted at some point.
I'm not a big fan of the Traag figure though, I don't know something about thing just doesn't do it for me when it comes to tragg.
Keep up the great work!

That works pretty well, Just looking at it i couldnt have guessed only the arms give it away. It's a good way of doing scales. The FO things pretty scaley looking as well come to think of it.

I want to finish Rocksteady then I'm going to start painting things. Im usually get stuck in gears with customizing. Either I'm just doing all sculpting mode or all painting mode. But i've been stuck in sculpting mode for longer than usual cause it had been raining and i usually do my painting outside cause i use air brushes and spray paint. Which usually isn't a big deal cause i live in san diego and it doesn't rain that much, but were having our big rainey el nino year.

very apprecuiative of all the feedback from everyone it's very encoraging.
