View Full Version : How will you sustain your interest in TMNT until 2012?

Now that the comics are almost over for the time being, the cartoons are done, there is only a handful of TMNT merchandize coming, and everything new is so far off until the franchise reboots in 2012, what will you do?
I imagine I'll drift from TMNT for a bit like I did when they died the "first time" back in 1997-1998, but I've wanted to re-read my entire TMNT comic collection and watch through the season sets of the cartoons again for quite a while.
What will you do? Or will you take a hiatus from the franchise?

Mainly the same thing your doing. Except for reading comics I don't have any.

About the same here. I'll use the tiem to pick up the DVDs of the old toon, and maybe finally track down the 3rd PS2 game for the 2003 series, since I have the first two.
I probably will drift a bit though. TMNT is the only US comic-inspired thing that I particularly like enough to follow like this, so it'll be just anime-manga for me.

Yeah I recently snagged all three TMNT games on Gamecube because they weren't playable on the 360 and I have nowhere else to connect the old XBOX. I still need to get to them later. I suggest looking up Amazon for a cheap new one or a really good used one. I recommend Warehouse Deals for the used copies, but make sure to read description first.

Finalizing my 2K3 DVD-R sets, listening to the awesome 2K3 musics, CooTS, possibly trying to cobble together a full-length NT:TNM DVD-R set (but, I'd have to be REALLY bored), marathoning the 4kids 'toons and catching the occasional rerun on Nick, rewatching all of the OT (some eps for the first time in 10+ years), trying to isolate some OT BGMs, and, finally, writing my 4kids-universe fanfics.
As you might could guess, I have complications with 'moving on'. ^_^
EDIT: Oh yeah. Add "recording to DVD a couple eps Lionsgate is looking like they aren't gonna give us". Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they just call it quits now.

trying to get the last remaining episodes i need of TMNT 2k3 series on dvd; hopefully doing the same with the original series; purchasing the odd TMNT toy here and there; tracking down some vintage comics; watching TMNT on dvd/vhs/blu-ray/dvr; talking about TMNT on this site getting excited for 2012! there that about covers it!

Haha this thread is almost redundant. Anyone on this forum has no issue with sustaining interest I'd think. Anyhow, I'm on a mission to complete my vol.4 & tales collections currently. Of course I will have to complete vol.2 & 1 aswell lmfao but those, I'll focus on later. There are a few loose figures I need for my collection & I'm always on the hunt for odd things from the past like stickers & coloring books so I'll have absolutely NO PROBLEM lol. Also, aside from my interest being greater sparked by learning photoshop skills (All I draw are turtles), I'm getting into all the crossover universes like Cowboys of moo mesa, Panda Khan, Gizmo etc so I'm picking up comics from them aswell.

and, finally, writing my 4kids-universe fanfics.
Y'know, I was gonna PM you about that not too long ago. I had just watched The Ninja Tribunal season and I had some ideas I was gonna run by you regarding a Ch'rell origin story... but I'm pretty sure I forgot and I hate that season so I'm not gonna try to jog my memory anytime soon lol.

I may need to contact you about both of those things...all I've got is the remixes of the movie opening themes, the old show theme, the CG movie theme, and the rejected 2K3 theme heh.

Yeah I traded in Mutant Melee and TMNT. But I got back TMNT on 360, and I won't miss Mutant Melee.

Since unlike the in last franchise's hiatus, DVDs exist, not to mention youtube, nothing poses a problem for me now.

Continue to enjoy the material I already have and work on completing my comic collection (which still has several large gaps).
Well I like a lot of stuff not just TMNT, in fact I usually drift between TMNT and the other things I like all the time. Just whatever is keeping me excited at the moment. You can see when I'm excited about the turtles since its when I start posting on the forums then I leave for a few months and come back again.
Anyways, I'm pretty sure we'll start hearing news from the new movie and show around 2011, which seems far away but we're already 1/3 through 2010 basically and that'll keep turtle fans interested and speculated for that year, so its really just the rest of 2010.

Play pokemanz.
I've always wanted to watch all of TNM (for educational purposes:P) and the old cartoon. Also, maybe start collecting the comics, or even working on my own stuff.

the day I'm no longer interested in turtles is the day I'm six foot under ground, or cremated, or made into a golden statue.. what ever cheapest

You haven't missed anything. Not even Nick knows exactly when they're gonna unveil any of their TMNT vision(s) yet. So, Kiefer was just being hypothetical. I took it as meaning, "count the seconds until the Nick reboot".

Check here (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?p=717027) for a bunch. There were also seven 2K3 DVD menu audios and one FF that I'm reripping for somebuddy. I'll let you know when I get them all MP3ed. A'ight?
Keep buying old school art!

Well, there's...
- The MNT Gaiden (http://www.obscurezodiac.com)
- Nicktoons will be airing 2k3 and I haven't seen it that many times
- I own OT and movie DVDs I watch once in awhile
- I own a very large chunk of the Mirage comics
- The original TMNT arcade game is one of my favorite games ever
I don't need new stories all the time. There's so much stuff to revisit. I won't ever be completely bored of TMNT.

I have it on my external hard drive hooked up to the PS3 in mp4 format so I can watch the low-quality pixelated fun on my TV.
I will most likely drop the fandom till the next movie. I don't think I could sustain it without anything new and entertaining coming along.

Hopefully, I'll finish my comics collection, but it won't be easy with the Sideshow statues. I also like to re-watch and re-read stuff, so I'll be fine. Obviously, this Forum will keep me entertained as well.

I think I will work on my car. In my spare time. In the time put aside I will Be buying and read the original tmnt comics and the archie comics. Then watching the original toons.
Yes this forum will keep the fandom alive for me. I will re-read and re-watch the movies and cartoon as I did when there was TMNT.
I'll keep drawing them and talk about it.
And of course I'm still deep into the autograph hunting. Which I hope will last long enough untill the new movie and cartoon from which I will be able to write new names!
