I have some questions about comics

Hey everyone... I am new to these forums... anyways I had some questions

I am really interested in collected the larger tmnt books, not really the comics. So here is what I have....

TMNT collected volume 1 - 5
TMNT future tense
Tales of TMNT collected
TMNT Bodycount
TMNT 25th Anniversary

First I was wondering how much I should pay for:
TMNT collected volume 6
TMNT collected volume 7
TMNT image TPB

Next I was wondering what were some suggestions of some other larger books or TPB's

Given the context of your post, I presume by "larger" you're refering to trade paperback collections?

If you're looking for what's available, then you may want to take a glance at the Collected Book Index (http://www.ninjaturtles.com/comics/books/books.htm) over at the official site, which lists the bulk of them.

As for what I'd recommend that you haven't listed, I'd say make an effort to track down a copy of "Shell Shock". A nice collection of most (but not all) of the various TMNT short strips that were sporadically published as back-up material throughout the 80s in various Mirage and indy books.

And by "Tales of the TMNT Collected", which are you referring to? The Volume 1 collection (of which there are two with different frontispieces and bonus materials) or the multitude of Volume 2 collections?

If you're looking for the Volume 2 stuff, then I'd recommend Book IV, as it contains the complete Shark-Shredder arc and is more fun (and coherent) than most of the other collections (which tend to contain random issues strung together by a very tenuous common theme).

Shell Shock depends on your diligence. Powder picked it up for $5, but he was certainly the exception to the rule. I paid $31 for mine, most usually go for around $50 or so.

V2 Book 4 is probably around $20 bucks?

As an aside, just spend a few minutes and do some research with Google and eBay to guage values. Many factors play into finding great deals, but by doing your research you'll have the knowledge to react and the satisfaction of the hunt.

I got my copy of Shell Shock for $35, but I know there are people who've paid half as much and twice as much at around the same time.

The current collector's demand for TMNT trades is pretty hungry, so it's really difficult to gauge the atmosphere for resale.

I mean, the 25th Anniversary TMNT Volume 1 collection that came out late last year? They've been going for hundreds on eBay despite not being particularly rare, just very in demand. The Tales Volume 1 Collected Treasury has been going for similar prices on the after market.

Meanwhile, the ocassional person shows up, unaware of the demand and crackhead resale prices, and puts the same items up at cover price or lower.


It's alllllll over the place and not easy to give you an estimate or average on what certain trades go for. You just have to keep an eye out for yourself.
