I just thought about Titanus from the old TMNT cartoon from the middle of season 8 and I realized something. The lead villain of the mutant group HAVOC, Titanus, almost sounds like Titanic, except the end sounds like an S instead of a C. Is that a coincidence or did the person who thought of the name "Titanus" have the Titanic in mind? Plus Titanus's headquarters is underwater, just like the Titanic. Has anyone ever noticed this before?

Well ...all is from the same root word "TITAN" : Race of powerful gods who governed during the legendary golden age, according to the Greek mythology...that is the reason they are so similar words...Both want a meaning of important power: One of the TITANS is THE OCEAN...
Others are: The ocean and the fruitful land, the Sun and the Moon...

Wtf... he's fat and evil, so they gave him a "bad-ass" name that fits his image.

XD "Titanic" was an adjective way before it was the name of a boat.

No. He reminds me more of Mojo from X men. Silly comparison if you ask me.

"Titan" simply refes to someone or something that is massive and strong. Personally, he always reminded me of Jabba the Hutt.

Yeah one that walks and speaks english, but he reminds me of Jabba as well.
Mostly when he's laying in his room.

And Titan is also a natural satellite of Saturn.

There was also a zord named Titanus on the first season of "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" that aired at roughly the same time, or shortly after the TMNT one did.

Pretty heavy stuff. :P

Does Venus remind anyone of the planet Venus? Or the Roman Goddess Venus? I mean...its like they're the same word! My mind is totally blown!

Did anyone else love how the Grateful Dead totally riffed off Casey Jones? With their song, Casey Jones?

Too bad they got it all wrong, with the whole Train thing. Stupid Grateful Dead.

Yeah I think that was the whole point considering they totally talk about Wingnut on his character card saying he's a wannabe Batman. On a side note didn't you just want to cut paper into thin little slices whenever you heard the name Shredder?
