Eastman's said in interviews that he actually drew a complete TMNT/Daredevil crossover comic many, many years ago.

However, he refuses to show it to anyone and swears that he never will so long as he lives.

Which... makes me wonder what's wrong with it, exactly? (I'm assuming porn)

hahaha , your probably right , or maybe he's scared of what Frank Miller might think of it .
You know its kinda funny how theres so many marvel characters that live in NYC and no one has ever tried making a crossover with TMNT.(no im not rapping) Closest we got was Savage Dragon and hes out in Chicago lol

Laird and Eastman had some bad blood with Marvel way back in the day, which probably contributed toward their never being a crossover.

If interviews are to be believed (and I don't see why not), Eastman and Laird were interested in publishing the Turtles under Marvel at one point for wider distribution and whatnot. Marvel courted the idea very strongly and took them out to a really nice lunch and everything. But when time came to sign on the dotted line, they found out that Marvel wanted to take the creative rights to the property from them entirely.

They felt like they were being swindled and the deal was off.

The only reason they went to Image in 96 was because, unlike Marvel, Image was a "creator owned" publisher and never tried to "steal" characters from the people who created them (well, except when Todd McFarlane tried it six or seven times, but he's a douche).

Marvel didn't roll that way at the time.

wow , I dont know how this works but couldn't they just do a crossover without signing to marvel ? maybe just some sort of agreement for a oneshot.
Yea marvel is known for stealing characters from their creators, thats just wrong .

In my opinion a Spiderman / Tmnt crossover will be very difficult...
its very difficult to carry out a good story by the characteristics of all the characters ...
Spiderman is much like Michelangelo ...

There's a pretty revealing interview that Eastman & Laird gave to Amazing Heroes magazine in 1986 on their displeasure with the powers that were at Marvel and the creator's rights controversy.

Laird: "I think Marvel should give Jack Kirby his artwork back immediately if not sooner, and Jim Shooter and Stan Lee should go on TV and publicly apologize."

Eastman: "I agree with Peter. Not so harshly, but I see that it's very wrong. Everyone in the industry knows it's wrong and can plainly see that the artwork should be returned.

Regarding the question of whether either of them would consider working for Marvel "if Jim Shooter called you up tomorrow?"
Eastman: "To be perfectly honest, there are certain Marvel characters that I would like to work on. If he called tomorrow... I'm perfectly satisfied with the things we have going here."

Laird: "The characters that I'd like to to do just happen to be owned by DC, so I can say definitely no. Part of it is that I don't have the time, but I'd also prefer an ethical revision of their policies before I do any work for them."

Eastman: Yeah, I can agree with that."
