Available Comics Heads Up - Mile High

I just discovered how unnecessarily slow their shipping is, but you can't deny Mile High Comics are an established seller. Anyway-

Was just scanning their New In Stock listings and see that just today they added copies of v1 #6-62 (most of those at least) and all of v2. Anyone trying to fill in those series should take a look and keep in mind that for the next couple of days the discount code PITTSBURGH gets you 35% off most items.

Yeah they have good deals I recommend them. I don't think their shipping is slow though. Last few times I ordered from them I had my items in a week. I ordered trades though which probably get sent out faster then random back issues.

Their shipping time's not TERRIBLE or anything. My random back issues order was processed and shipped out quickly, but watching the tracking info made me a little impatient as I had to wait three business days for the comics to make it the last 300 miles to me.

I've come across their site before. I'm curious to know: how reliable are they when they grade their comics? When the send you a VF/NM should I be expecting something less?

I collect mainly for reading, but would like decent copies nonetheless.

Mile High under rates. I've ordered books from them that are in fine condition and they come mint.

Second'd. I usually order F/VF and they are immaculate. In fact, I hav an order on the way as I type this.

They just finished having a 40% off sale, but if you order $20 or more you get to pick a free book. Since I had a rather large order I skimmed their pickings and saw they were offering the Tundra published Secret of the Ooze adaptation so I nabbed it!

Mile High and Ms. Katie @ Mirage have REALLY fleshed out my comic collection this year.! :D

I just ordered from them this past week, so I am yet to receive my books. As soon as I do, I'll give you guys some info.. I'm sure they are reliable, I emailed them and customer service wrote right back. I can't wait to find out!

Find out what? The store has been in business since the '70's and online since the mid-'90's; Mile High is one of the most prominent and premiere comic stores in the nation.

I've ordered around 100 books from them in the past and always received them in top-notch condition and in reasonable time. In fact, my last order, placed Tuesday night around 11 PM CST was shipped out Thursday, and is en route from CO to AL and will probably arrive this Tueday via Fed Ex. At any time I can check the status with the tracking number they gave me. Oh yeah, and they were even nice enough to let me have the Bonus Book I qualified for (but didn't realize until Wednesday night) although my shipment was already packed and in the stack to go out.

You have nothing to worry about when ordering from Mile High. Just catch them on a sale and load up! :D

I've had a 50/50 experience with them in regards to their grading, the first time i ordered from them all the issues were as promised, the second and third time-
no so lucky, i would say 80% were OK the rest were miss-graded - although they do try to rectify the situation. they have very good customer service!

Awesome!! Yeah, I'm waiting for "Collected Tales Vol. 1" and the "Graphic Novel Book V", from Mile High. I'm looking forward!!

Cool, cool. That's good news.

On a related note, I've got about 20 issues from vol. 1, in general front and back covers are immaculate with a little wear to the spine but the inside pages are a bit tanned looking. Is this to be expected for Mirage's stuff from this time (aging due to printing on low grade paper) or can I expect to find something out there that's off white?

My aim is to collect as much of vol. 1 as I can, quality doesn't need to be perfect but should be fine condition.

Yeah, newsprint tend to yellow with age. Most of the pages in my old books are light creamy-colored, with the outward facing edges showing some yellowing.

It's kind of awesome, gives them character. :D
